Algorithms Of Stable Adaptive Observation Of A Multidimensional Undefinite Object, Tursunova Sadoqat Abdusalom Qizi Mar 2026

Algorithms Of Stable Adaptive Observation Of A Multidimensional Undefinite Object, Tursunova Sadoqat Abdusalom Qizi

Chemical Technology, Control and Management

This article presents an algorithm for simultaneously estimating the parameters and state coordinates of a multidimensional control object when some of its state variables are not directly measured. The inability to measure all state variables (coordinates) of an object is a well-known drawback of identification schemes. Such conditions require the construction of adaptive state observers. This work demonstrates that when identifying the parameters of a mathematical model for an uncertain multidimensional object, the asymptotic stability of the object and the convergence of its parameters to the model parameters are ensured, provided the input vector is sufficiently informative. The construction of …

Impediments To Transforming The Healthcare Delivery System: Shifting The Paradigm From Provider Centric To Patient Centric, Elizabeth A. Regan, Manasa Devi Chinta

Faculty Publications

Introduction:

Stated aims for digital healthcare transformation frequently cite goals for better coordinated patient-centric systems. However, despite advances in medical science, digital technologies, health policies, and billions of dollars invested over the past 25 years, most healthcare providers are far from fully realizing the demonstrated benefits of today's digital technologies for improving patient care. Sharing information across healthcare systems remains challenging. Problems with fragmentation, quality, inequities, and rising costs of care delivery persist. A recent study of 1,026 U.S. hospital systems found that only 15.8 percent achieved a digital maturity level needed to provide digitally enabled healthcare services to better …

Providers’ Social Determinants Of Health, Burnout, And Efficacy Addressing Patients’ Social Determinants Of Health Needs, Erik Klee

Doctor of Psychology (PsyD)

Healthcare provider burnout and the capacity to address patients’ social determinants of health are critical issues in modern medical systems. This study investigated the relationships among providers’ personal social determinants of health (Prov-SDH) needs, burnout, and perceived efficacy in addressing patients’ social determinants of health (Pt-SDH) needs. Using a sample of 149 healthcare professionals, the study examined how individual Prov-SDH factors, professional degree, clinical setting, and years of practice influenced these outcomes. Statistical analyses revealed no significant correlation between providers’ current or lifetime Prov-SDH needs and their reported burnout symptoms or Pt-SDH-related efficacy. However, results indicated that lifetime Prov-SDH needs …

Emotional Tides In The Sea Of Automation: The Interplay Of Emotions And Trust On Automation Reliance, Lei Shirase

Dissertations

The present study examined the interplay between emotions and trust in the context of automation reliance. The study investigated whether specific emotions (happiness, interest, anger, sadness, and fear) systematically impacted users’ trust in an x-ray screening decision aid, their reliance on the aid, as well as their resilience to any errors made by the aid. Despite successfully inducing certain emotional states, there was no significant relationship between emotions and trust in / reliance on the automated aid. Supplemental analyses revealed that stable individual difference traits (i.e. propensity to trust) to be a strong predictor of initial trust levels in the …

Infrastructural Resiliency Analysis Concerning Extreme Events, Yasaman Norouzi Mar 2026

Infrastructural Resiliency Analysis Concerning Extreme Events, Yasaman Norouzi

Theses and Dissertations

Infrastructural resiliency is critical for maintaining functionality during and after extreme events, ensuring minimal service disruptions and supporting rapid recovery. Key resiliency attributes—robustness, redundancy, resourcefulness, and rapidity—enhance infrastructure adaptability and safety. This study investigates significant factors and methods for improving resiliency, with a focus on equity and reliability. A new resiliency metric, incorporating equity as a core element, is developed using probabilistic approaches. This metric integrates structural vulnerability with accessibility, income, cost, and exposure factors to evaluate community impact on infrastructure access. To achieve this, limit state functions are defined to assess how infrastructural vulnerabilities affect diverse communities. Apart From …

How Do State Labor Policies Impact Disability For Latino Adults In The U.S.?, Marc A. Garcia, Blakelee R. Kemp, Erin Bisesti

Population Health Research Brief Series

Latino adults in the United States experience a greater burden of disability than non-Latino White adults. This brief summarizes findings from a study using data from the 2000-2016 American Community Surveys (ACS) linked to annual state policy data (1998-2014) on Latino adults ages 45-85 across 25 U.S. states (N=1,183,438). The authors describe how state labor policies (i.e., disability insurance, minimum wage protections, paid sick leave, unemployment compensation) predict disability among Latino adults. The authors find that disability rates among Latino adults are lower in states with more liberal labor policy contexts. Liberal state policies appear protective for both U.S.-born and …

Victimization, Health, And Help Seeking In North Dakota: How Interpersonal Violence Shapes Physical And Mental Health, Tahmid Hassan Jeeshan

Graduate Research Achievement Day Posters

Interpersonal violence extends beyond physical assault to include psychological and/or emotional abuse that can produce substantial physical and mental health consequences. This study examines how multiple forms of interpersonal violence relate to health outcomes among North Dakotan women, focusing on differences between rural and non rural residents. We compare victimization patterns, physical and mental health status, and treatment seeking behaviors. We anticipate that rural victims will report more severe or chronic victimization yet face reduced access to and use of healthcare and victim services. By jointly considering violence type, rural versus non-rural status, health outcomes, and treatment seeking, this project …

Therapeutic Horsemanship For The Caregiver: Overview Of Results, Pinky Shani, Laura A. Espinosa, Rebecca Yarbrough

Creating Healthy Work Environments (CHWE)

Background: Healthcare professionals (HCPs) are prepared to care for illness and experience stressful situations including trauma and death. However, the overwhelming conditions during and after the pandemic can put many HCPs at risk of developing post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and burnout. Previous research has reported a prevalence of PTSD among HCPs between 21.5% and 38% (Greene et al., 2021; Yan et al., 2021). In addition, 48% of ICU nurses experienced PTSD (Sanchez, Simon, & Ford, 2019). Furthermore, past research has indicated burnout levels of 55% to 86% among HCPs. It is essential that resources are provided for HCPs to cope …

Objective.Accurate lung function assessment is essential for diagnosing and managing diseases like chronic obstructive pulmonary disorder, pulmonary emboli, and lung cancer. Single-photon emission computed tomography (SPECT) provides valuable 3D functional imaging of ventilation and perfusion, but is limited by low spatial resolution, availability, additional radiation, and cost. Alternative methods, including CT-based perfusion (CT-P) and deep learning models, require large datasets to validate results that are often scarce. Pulmonary function tests (PFTs) offer rapid and noninvasive global lung function measures and are clinically widely used. While ventilation correlates well with PFTs, perfusion imaging presents challenges due to complex blood flow and …
