Lessons Learned From Bp: Deepwater Horizon And The Transition To Renewables, Daniel Valle

This paper analyzes the gradual transition of British Petroleum (BP), one of the world's largest oil and gas companies, into a renewable energy company focused on sustainability and the reduction of carbon emissions. BP's leadership and ethical practices are compared before and after the 2010 Deepwater Horizon disaster. The purpose of the comparison and the broader analysis of the transition is to identify how effective leadership can be used to transform a company with a suspect social responsibility record into a leader among its peers. Lessons learned from the disaster, and the subsequent transition conclude the research.

Health-system pharmacy leaders are tasked with determining key staffing decisions based on evolving patient care needs and present-day staffing capacity. A systematic approach to evaluate patient care needs, current model and potential gaps enables leaders to allocate resources in patient care need expansions or sudden fluctuations of patient volumes. Resource management, preparedness and ongoing maintenance form principles used by pharmacy leaders to create an optimal operational environment and elevate clinical pharmacy services. The Influence Of Resilience And Expressive Flexibility On Character Strengths And Virtues On Military Leadership In U.S. Military Cadets, Vasiliki Georgoulas-Sherry

Introduction: Character strengths and virtues are greatly revered in military leadership. However, there is no empirical work assessing the relationship of resilience and expressive flexibility, two essential psychological constructs crucial in nurturing mentally healthy individuals, also for successful officer development and military leadership.

Methods: Employing a cross-sectional design, this study recruited 107 participants (ages 18 to 22) from a private U.S. Military university. McGrath, Rashid, Park, and Peterson’s and Peterson and Seligman’s taxonomies of character strengths and virtues were measured. Self-reported resilience and expressive flexibility were additionally assessed.

Students who are unable to attend Pediatric clinical during the COVID-19 Pandemic needed an alternative method to meet the clinical objectives of the nursing curriculum. Utilizing semester-five management students to implement a simulation activity with the semester three pediatric students allowed the opportunity to simulate clinical experiences and develop interpersonal, clinical, and professional skills. Allowing the semester five students to pre-brief, implement, debrief, educate and mentor the semester-three pediatric students allowed the students to meet their course objectives and develop skills in patient-centered care, safety, informatics, documentation, delegation, education, and mentoring.
