Rapid Detection Of Viable Salmonella Based On Specific Phage Infection Combined With Fluorescent Rpa, Liu Daofeng, Zhai Yujie, Tan Yucheng, Shan Shan, Lu Jun, Zhong Ziqing
Food and Machinery
[Objective] To establish a rapid detection method for viable Salmonella based on specific phage infection and recombinase polymerase amplification (RPA) in response to the key challenge that traditional molecular biological detection methods have difficulty in conveniently distinguishing between viable and non-viable foodborne pathogens. [Methods] Taking advantage of the characteristic that O-1 phage only proliferates in viable bacteria, the phage is added to the enriched sample. After further incubation, total DNA is extracted. Fluorescent RPA is used to determine whether the phage has significantly proliferated, so as to judge the presence of viable Salmonella in the original sample. [Results] After optimization, …

[Objective] To establish an indirect competitive enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ic-ELISA) for the detection of sulfadimethoxine (SDM) in animal-derived foods. [Methods] An artificial antigen is synthesized by conjugating SDM with carrier proteins by the diazotization method. A highly sensitive antibody against SDM is prepared by immunizing animals. Based on this, an ic-ELISA is established and the detection system is optimized. Its detection performance is characterized, and spiked recovery tests are carried out. [Results] When the concentration of the coating antigen is 0.500 μg/mL, the dilution ratio of the horseradish peroxidase-labeled goat anti-rabbit secondary antibody is 1:5000, the reaction time of the …

Food and Machinery
Vegetable pickling is a time-honored food preservation and processing method, in which salt (primarily sodium chloride) plays an irreplaceable and core role. This paper systematically reviews the multidimensional effects of curing salt on vegetable quality. It comprehensively covers preservation mechanisms, textural transformations, the formation and conversion of flavor compounds, color stability, and nutritional value changes. Specifically, this article analyzes the decisive role of salt concentration gradients in final product characteristics. Furthermore, it examines the challenges posed by the low salinity, including microbial safety risks, textural deterioration, and flavor imbalances, while proposing corresponding strategies.

The Aesthetics Of The Stylistic Pattern In Al-Bukhārī’S Chapter Headings: An Applied Study Of The Book Of Faith, Amina Bint Saud Bin Khishan Al-Qurashi
Journal of Arabic Sciences and Humanities
This study has aimed to examine the aesthetics of the stylistic pattern in al-Bukhārī’s chapter headings (tarājim) in the Book of Faith, through analyzing their syntactic, semantic, and phonetic patterns, and clarifying their expressive value and pedagogical function. The study has adopted a stylistic approach to reveal the unifying governing pattern of the chapter headings. The study has concluded that al-Bukhārī’s chapter headings function as scholarly thresholds that methodically direct the reading of hadiths in a disciplined manner, combining syntactic concision with semantic depth, and fulfilling an instructional function grounded in assertion and classification. This makes them an effective element …

The Narrative Of Belonging: A Metafictional Approach To Young Adult Literature (Arwa Dawood Khamees’S Duology As A Model), Sulaiman Bin Salem Alsenani
Journal of Arabic Sciences and Humanities
This study examines how inherited values in classical tales, which have entrenched stereotypes in young readers’ consciousness, are critically interrogated. It traces the metanarrative mechanisms operating in the text and analyzes their role in dismantling and reconstructing such images. The corpus consists of Arwa Dawood Khamees’s duology, A Tea Party at Cinderella’s Palace (2015) and A Cup of Coffee on Treasure Island (2019). Adopting a narratological approach, the study uses metanarrative analysis to examine character models and the movement from dependence on external image toward choice and self-awareness. The findings show that the first part questions image, beauty, and the …

The Roots Of The Saudi State And Its Establishment By Imam Mohammed Bin Saud In 1139 Ah /1727 Ce, Mohammed Bin Abdulrahman Al-Salama
Journal of Arabic Sciences and Humanities
This research examines the origins of the ruling family of the Saudi state. It shows that Al Saud come from the Bani Hanifa tribe, which belongs to the larger Bani Bakr bin Wa’il tribe, and follows their migration from Hijaz to the centre of the Arabian Peninsula, where they built a strong community before Islam. It also discusses the movement of some clans, including Al Murdah clan, led by the family’s ancestor Mani’ al-Muridi, who succeeded in founding a settlement along the Arabian Gulf coast before returning in the mid-9th century AH to their ancestral homeland in the Yamama region, …

Are Uninterpretable Features Unlearnable? Revisiting The Interpretability Hypothesis In Second Language English Acquisition, Salma Musleh Alqahtani
Journal of Arabic Sciences and Humanities
The Interpretability Hypothesis (IH) predicts that uninterpretable features absent in the L1 become inaccessible in adulthood, whereas Full Access theories maintain that Universal Grammar (UG) remains available. Despite extensive research, it remains unclear whether elevated resumption acceptance in L2 learners reflects a representational deficit or processing-based strategies, and no study has examined the role of working memory in this distinction for Saudi learners. This study tested whether Saudi learners of English show L1 transfer in accepting resumptive pronouns (RPs), grammatical in Arabic but ungrammatical in English, and whether this reflects representational deficits or processing limits. A total of 164 Saudi …

Variation In The Use Of Interdentals In The Taif Arabic Dialect: The Impact Of Spatiality And Neighbourhood, Najla M. Alghamdi, Kholoud A. Al-Thubaiti
Journal of Arabic Sciences and Humanities
The variation in the use of plain interdentals (ð) and (θ ) across Arabic dialects is a significant factor in dialect classification. This study examines the variation in the use of these variants in two Saudi dialects (tribal and non-tribal) within Taif city in the western province of Saudi Arabia. The population of Taif consists of tribal groups that use interdentals and non-tribal groups that use stops.
