Transforming Future Classrooms: Exploring Mainstream Candidates’ Self-Efficacy, Amanda Nelms

Journal of English Learner Education

The nationwide shortage of teachers is having a profound impact on schools across the country. In addition, many teacher candidates are entering the profession without adequate preparation to effectively work with MLs, potentially exacerbating challenges faced by this student population. Extractivism And Water Crisis In The Moroccan Draa Oasis: Global South Reflections On Responsibility And Resistance, Ahmed El Khatabi

Journal of Maya Heritage

Abstract. The Draa Oasis in southeastern Morocco is experiencing severe water scarcity, driven by climate change and intensified by the expansion of watermelon agribusiness and desert tourism. This article explores how external investors, empowered by national agricultural policies, have disrupted traditional water governance systems rooted in collective management. Through ethnographic fieldwork involving interviews, focus groups, and spatial mapping, the study examines the socio-environmental consequences of groundwater depletion and land commodification. It argues that investors fail to assume ethical accountability for the ecological degradation they cause, despite being aware of the oasis’s fragile ecosystem. Meanwhile, local communities and civil society actors …

Why is one drawn to the sleek shapes of missiles, fighter planes and massive bombers whose bellies can unleash formidable destruction?

There is an undeniable beauty in designs that once were the epitome of engineering and technology - the equivalency of speed, agility and precision. But this aestheticization of weapons of mass destruction cannot blind one to the ultimate purpose of these sleek objects, be it aggressive or defensive.

Sedentary Behavior Patterns After Acl Reconstruction, David M. Werner, Liubov Arbeeva, Yvonne M. Golightly, Balarinivasa R. Sajja, Michael D. Rosenthal, Matthew Tao, Elizabeth Wellsandt

International Journal of Exercise Science

International Journal of Exercise Science 18(4): 636-658, 2025. Individuals after anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction (ACLR) are less physically active than their uninjured peers, but little is known about their sedentary behavior (SB). This study aimed to identify patterns of SB in individuals six and 18 months after ACLR. Eighteen individuals after ACLR wore accelerometers for one week during six- and 18-month post-operative assessments (83.3% female, 19.7±5.6 years old, BMI 23.9±kg/m2). The percentage of awake time spent in SB was estimated. A multilevel (two time points – six and 18 months), multidimensional (13 hours) functional principal component analysis generated …

International Journal of Exercise Science

International Journal of Exercise Science 18(2): 622-635, 2025. The purpose of this investigation was to determine inter-set and inter-session reliability of the HUMAC360 measures for duration (DUR), peak velocity (PV) and mean velocity (MV) across three segments of the bench press. Seventeen recreationally active adults participated in this investigation. During visit one, participants completed a bench press one-repetition maximum (1RM). Visits two and three consisted of two sets of three repetitions at 30%-, 50%-, 60%-, and 70 %-1RM. Segments were defined by dividing total displacement into equal thirds at the bottom (BOT), middle (MID) and top (TOP). Intraclass correlation coefficients …
