Background: Limited evidence exists on differences in health-related quality of life (HRQOL) and its determinants between diabetic and non-diabetic hemodialysis patients in China. This comparative correlational study aimed to compare HRQOL and identify associated determinants among patients with and without diabetes in Xinxiang, China.

Methods: A total of 300 hemodialysis patients (150 diabetic, 150 non-diabetic) were recruited through convenience sampling. Data were collected using a personal information form, the Kidney Disease Quality of Life Short-Form (KDQOL-SF), the Treatment Adherence Scale for Maintenance Hemodialysis, and the Family Support Scale. Background: Village Health Volunteers (VHVs) play a vital role in community health; however, their psychological resilience remains underexplored. This study aimed to assess the resilience levels of VHVs in rural Thailand and evaluate the effectiveness of a resilience enhancement program.

Methods: This action research study was conducted between April and October 2022 with 476 VHVs, selected through stratified random sampling across two sub-districts and five villages per sub-district in Phayao Province. Background: The COVID-19 vaccine, including CoronaVac, is crucial in reducing severe infections and mortality due to COVID-19. However, variability in antibody responses across different populations remains a subject of investigation. This study aimed to evaluate the impact of age and BMI on Immunoglobulin G (IgG) antibody levels three months post-CoronaVac vaccination in a healthy Indonesian cohort.

Background: Pulse diagnosis in Thai Traditional Medicine (TTM) evaluates the balance of the Tri-Dhātu—Vata, Pitta, and Semha—and their interaction with innate body elements (Dhātu Chao Ruean; DCR). Despite its clinical significance, scientific evidence and quantitative tools remain limited. This study aimed to compare Tri-Dhātu pulse characteristics across different DCR types using expert assessment and the DMP-Life™ pulse diagnostic device.

Background: In the border trade communities of Mae Hong Son Province, Thailand, misinformation and fear surrounding COVID-19 led to increased discrimination.

Method: This study aims to: (1) examine the different forms of stigma, (2) understand how affected individuals manage and cope with stigma, and (3) investigate community-based interventions to reduce stigma in border regions. An interpretative paradigm was used in a qualitative research design. A total of 18 participants—including local traders, housewives facing mobility challenges, a community leader, and healthcare workers were interviewed semi-structurally from August to December 2022. This paper explores the epistemological role of love in the mystical frameworks of Muhyiddin Ibn ‘Arabi and Thomas Aquinas, two significant figures of medieval philosophy and theology. Though rooted in distinct monotheistic traditions—Islamic mysticism and Christian scholasticism—both thinkers share a foundation in Aristotelian thought, from which they derive skepticism regarding the intellect's capacity to fully comprehend or relate to the divine. This capstone project aimed to enhance the quality of life, well-being, and occupational participation of individuals with dementia residing in nursing homes through the implementation of an eight-week occupational therapy-based program. By addressing unmet needs through personalized, meaningful activities such as cognitive stimulation, physical activities, and social engagement, this project seeks to reduce cognitive decline and improve emotional well-being. Postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (POTS) is a form of dysautonomia characterized by a heart rate (HR) increase ≥30 beats/minute (bpm) within 10 minutes of standing from a supine position, without a significant blood pressure drop. POTS can diminish quality of life with symptoms including tachycardia, headaches, and fatigue. Despite established diagnostic criteria, POTS is often underrecognized or misdiagnosed due to its episodic nature. Symptoms may not consistently be present during diagnostic testing, leading to false negatives during in-office testing. Immuno-oncology and the advent of immunotherapies, in particular immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs), have fundamentally altered the way we treat cancer. Yet only a small subset of patients actually responds to ICIs, and many face significant adverse effects, making the accurate selection of patients for ICIs essential to the work of immuno-oncology. The first generation of transiting planet searches in globular clusters yielded no detections, and in hindsight only placed occurrence rate limits slightly higher than the measured occurrence rate in the higher-metallicity Galactic thick disk. To improve these limits, we present the first results of a new wide-field search for transiting hot Jupiters in the globular cluster 47 Tucanae (47 Tuc). We have observed 47 Tuc as part of the Multiband Imaging Survey for High-Alpha PlanetS. To minimize this decline and preserve genetic diversity, land-based nurseries have been sexually propagating corals to repopulate reefs. Conversational turn-taking skills are needed to succeed in most conversational interactions. Timing of turn-taking is crucial for young deaf signers, who need early, accessible, and consistent input in a signed and/or spoken language. For deaf children who acquire a language in either modality, they must acquire appropriate turn-taking skills. Without these abilities, children may miss critical language input, and in a cascading effect–they may miss opportunities both for input (and thus new knowledge) and expressive language. In cell biology, statistical analysis means testing the hypothesis that there was no effect. This weak form of hypothesis testing neglects effect size, is universally misinterpreted, and is disastrously prone to error when combined with high-throughput cell biology. The solution is for analysis of measurements to start and end with an interpretation of effect size. The liver stores substantial numbers of neutral lipid organelles termed lipid droplets (LDs) that accumulate within hepatocytes in response to chronic ethanol (EtOH) consumption leading to hepatic steatosis. Mass spectrometry analysis of LDs isolated from EtOH-damaged rat livers revealed a substantial reduction in the valosin-containing protein ATPase (VCP/p97) that acts to remove targeted proteins from cellular membranes for degradation. Experimental disruption of VCP function resulted in an increase in LD content in hepatocytes and mouse livers along with a marked increase in LD-associated hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase (HSD17β13) known to contribute to hepatic steatosis.
