Large language models (LLMs) demonstrate impressive capabilities to generate accurate code snippets given natural language intents in a zero-shot manner, i.e., without the need for specific fine-tuning. While prior studies have highlighted the advantages of fine-tuning LLMs, this process incurs high computational costs, making it impractical in resource-scarce environments, particularly for models with billions of parameters. To address these challenges, previous research explored in-context learning (ICL) and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) as strategies to guide the LLM generative process with task-specific prompt examples. With the prevalence of smart contracts, smart Ponzi schemes have become a common fraud on blockchain and have caused significant financial loss to cryptocurrency investors in the past few years. This study investigates how listed firms respond to investors’ rumor-related inquiries and examines the impact of these responses on investor reactions, as indicated by subsequent daily abnormal stock returns (ARs). Using a unique dataset of question-and-answer (Q&A) interactions from China’s major e-interaction platforms, established by the stock exchanges, our study provides insights into regulated firm-investor communications in a structured Q&A setting. Unlike informal social media channels, these platforms enable official responses from firm representatives, typically board secretaries, under direct regulatory oversight. Backdoor attacks have become a significant threat to the pre-training and deployment of deep neural networks (DNNs). Although numerous methods for detecting and mitigating backdoor attacks have been proposed, most rely on identifying and eliminating the “shortcut” created by the backdoor, which links a specific source class to a target class. However, these approaches can be easily circumvented by designing multiple backdoor triggers that create shortcuts everywhere and therefore nowhere specific. The increasing digitalisation of the tourism industry has introduced new expectations for workforce competencies, particularly in developing economies like Malaysia. The present study investigates how three core digital competencies, i.e. digital literacy, platform/tool awareness, and technology readiness, influence employability readiness among two key groups including final-year tourism students and in-service professionals. Drawing on Human Capital Theory and the Technology Readiness Index, the research applies Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modelling (PLS-SEM) to examine 350 responses collected through purposive sampling. By integrating Service-Dominant Logic (S-D-L) and Experience Accounting (EA), it aims to support the development of customer-centric performance systems for managerial decision making in the all-inclusive hospitality sector. This is the first empirical study to merge data from three perspectives in service-for-service exchanges: customer review ratings from online platforms, ship-level operational characteristics, and financial metrics from corporate reports. Wildfires are increasing in frequency and severity, presenting critical challenges for timely detection and response, particularly in remote or resource-limited environments. This study introduces the Inception-ResNet Transformer with Quantization (IRTQ), a novel hybrid deep learning (DL) framework that integrates multi-scale feature extraction with global attention and advanced quantization. The proposed model is specifically optimized for edge deployment on platforms such as unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), offering a unique combination of high accuracy, low latency, and compact memory footprint. From structural, anatomical, and functional perspectives, components of the thoracoabdominal region are heterogeneous and physiologically and functionally different. Although their tolerances to injury are expected to be different, the current Roma Plastilina No. 1 clay penetration criterion for behind armor blunt trauma (BABT) is not specific to the body region. It is important to develop regional injury criteria to ensure its specificity. The objective of the study is to conduct impact tests on the lung region using a live animal model and develop injury risk curves using velocity and deflection metrics via parametric survival analysis.

Opponents decry this as bureaucratic nullification of democratically enacted offenses, while the prosecutors themselves counter that they are responding to the will of their local electorate. Democracy claims, it appears, have taken center stage in this debate, and they are deployed by both sides. How should we think about democracy and categorical declinations? In a typical campaign, the activist threatens to launch a proxy fight unless the board of directors agrees to take certain actions to increase shareholder value, such as selling off company assets or replacing the CEO. Increasingly, however, there are no proxy fights. Instead, the activist and the board, behind closed doors, quickly agree to settle. The activist withdraws the proxy fight threat, and, in return, the board appoints individuals designated by the activist to sit on the company board. BACKGROUND: In recent years, there has been an emergence of new antigens discovered in membranous nephropathy (MN). Whether these antigens have impacted the approach to, and management of, MN patients undertaken by nephrologists is still unclear.

METHODS: We conducted a cross-sectional international survey pertaining to 13 antigens recently discovered in MN. The survey was distributed by the National Kidney Foundation, direct emails, and social media.

RESULT: PLA2R, THSD7A, NELL1, and EXT1/2 testing were readily available while the most common response for other antigen testing was 'Not Performed' or 'Unknown'. All respondents had tested for or treated PLA2R-positive MN. Of 79 …

Large wind turbines yield more energy but demand careful aeroelastic blade design. Coupled multiphysics design strategies can reduce wind energy costs exploiting fluid-structure interactions. This work presents the first high-fidelity aerostructural optimization study of a large wind turbine rotor.We use blade-resolved fluid dynamics and structural solvers in a monolithic gradient-based optimization framework to explore steady-state torque and blade mass trade-offs. The coupled-adjoint approach computes gradients efficiently, enabling the optimization of over 100 structural and geometric parameters simultaneously. Our optimization study modifies a DTU 10 MW benchmark with a simplified structure and isotropic material properties. The tightly coupled optimizations increase torque …

Objective: Hyperglycemic states (prediabetes and diabetes) are associated with heart failure (HF) risk. We aimed to identify distinct metabolites for subclinical cardiac dysfunction, a precursor of HF, in hyperglycemic or euglycemic individuals.

Research design and methods: We conducted cross-sectional and prospective analyses of 2,492 HF-free participants from the Atherosclerosis Risk in Communities (ARIC) study visit 5, 2011-2013. A total of 1,297 participants were hyperglycemic (assessed on the basis of hemoglobin A1c >5.7%, fasting glucose >100 mg/dL, use of diabetes medication, or diagnosis), and 1,195 were euglycemic. Understanding the complex factors influencing mammalian metabolism and body weight homeostasis is a long-standing challenge requiring knowledge of energy intake, absorption and expenditure. Using measurements of respiratory gas exchange, indirect calorimetry can provide non-invasive estimates of whole-body energy expenditure. However, inconsistent measurement units and flawed data normalization methods have slowed progress in this field. This guide aims to establish consensus standards to unify indirect calorimetry experiments and their analysis for more consistent, meaningful and reproducible results. The mammalian kidney contains numerous nephrons connected to the collecting ducts, and each nephron consists of a glomerulus, a proximal tubule, the loop of Henle (LoH), and a distal tubule. Folliculin (FLCN) is a causative gene for Birt-Hogg-Dubé syndrome, which is characterized by a variety of manifestations, including renal cysts and cancer. Although deletion of Flcn in the mouse collecting duct and distal nephron leads to cyst formation, its precise role in the entire nephron remains unclear. A comprehensive postmortem examination is an essential component of a work-up after stillbirth. Its findings can support accurate counseling of parents about causes and risk of recurrence. It also supports providers' decisions about most appropriate testing and management plans for future pregnancy to prevent recurrence. Informing parents about fetal autopsy and obtaining their consent is challenging, and conducting a fetal autopsy requires expertise that is, not universally available. Newer non-invasive or minimally invasive methods such as postmortem MRI and targeted biopsies can replace or supplement autopsies, but one must recognize that expertise in these methods is likewise not broadly available. …

Objective: Exome sequencing (ES) benefits the genetic work-up for fetuses with structural anomalies, but data on its utility for fetuses without anomalies and stillbirths is more limited. We report our experience with prenatal ES for all three indications.

Method: We retrospectively reviewed results from 344 trio-ES performed for fetuses with structural anomalies (N = 262), stillbirths (N = 39), and fetuses without anomalies (N = 43), many of which had a relevant family history. This study analyzes Egypt's exceptional reading achievement gains during the COVID-19 school closures, a period when most countries experienced declines. Drawing on data from the 2016 and 2021 Progress in International Reading Literacy Study (PIRLS), we find a 48-point improvement-equivalent to two years of learning-with notable gains among boys. Using Ordinary Least Squares (OLS) and projected trend models, we confirm the significance of this rise. Oaxaca-Blinder decomposition attributes only one-third of the improvement to observed factors. The study finds that Egypt's progress likely reflects systemic reforms, but more research is needed to confirm that.
