The Thousand Mysteries That Bind Us: The Multiverse As Spiritualverse And The Holism Of Mystery, Giovanni Rossini Aug 2026

The Thousand Mysteries That Bind Us: The Multiverse As Spiritualverse And The Holism Of Mystery, Giovanni Rossini

Journal of Contemplative and Holistic Education

While we exist historically within evolving worldviews, we live amid the paradoxical necessity of mystery; one shared by scientists and non-scientists, theologians and atheists, and artists and philosophers alike. A thousand mysteries bind us with their imperative presence. While pre modern astronomers pondered the mysterious randomness of the night sky, today our sense of cosmological awe is fuelled not only by its randomness, but by a new scientific theory that says multiple skies inhabit the creation. The multiverse — a thesis emerging from cosmological science, wherein parallel worlds are posited to coexist — augments mystery. In this paper, I explore …

Outcome Evaluation Of Percutaneous Coronary Intervention Vs Medical Therapy Alone In Patients With Chronic Coronary Syndrome, Hsien-Yuan Chang, Hsin-Yu Fang, Mu-Shiang Huang, You-Zhen Chen, Di-Yung Chen, Edward Chia-Cheng Lai, Jung-Der Wang, Yi-Heng Li, Li-Jung Elizabeth Ku

Journal of Food and Drug Analysis

This study provides real-world evidence by comparing the long-term clinical outcomes of percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) versus medical therapy alone in patients with chronic coronary syndrome (CCS) diagnosed non-invasively, given the lack of evidence in this population. This retrospective cohort study (2013-2018) utilized data from a medical center’s Cardiovascular Disease Databank, which was linked to national mortality records in Taiwan. Propensity score matching (PSM) and stabilized inverse probability of treatment weighting (IPTW) were applied to adjust for baseline differences between the PCI and medication-only groups. Major adverse cardiovascular events (MACE), including all-cause mortality, non-fatal myocardial infarction (MI), and revascularization, were …

The Ai-Rare Earth Paradox: Physical Dependence Without Financial Integration, Payal Mehra Aug 2026

The Ai-Rare Earth Paradox: Physical Dependence Without Financial Integration, Payal Mehra

Critical Letters in Economics & Finance

This study examines whether the artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure boom has created a measurable financial link between rare earth markets and the Magnificent Seven technology equities. Using daily data for the VanEck Rare Earth and Strategic Metals ETF (REMX) and the Solactive Magnificent Seven Index (MAG7) from November 1 2022, to June 30 2026, the study evaluates two dimensions: 1) long-run equilibrium and 2) short-run causality dynamics. The analysis applies Engle-Granger co-integration testing to price levels and Granger causality to log returns. The results provide no evidence of a stable long-run equilibrium and no statistically significant causal relationships between the …

Navigating Trauma And Scarcity: A Phenomenological Inquiry Into Well-Being Among Black Adult Males In Ohio Valley, Devron Demont Hobbs

Walden Dissertations and Doctoral Studies

Black adult males in resource-scarce Ohio Valley communities have historically experienced trauma that disrupted their well-being. The purpose of this qualitative phenomenological study, grounded in developmental trauma disorder (DTD) theory, was to explore how Black adult males understood and sustained well-being while living with DTD in resource-scarce environments. The participants comprised six Black adult males who resided in Ohio Valley communities and experienced trauma during childhood and adulthood. Data were collected through confidential, semi-structured, face-to-face interviews and analyzed using interpretative phenomenological analysis (IPA). Five themes emerged: healing through connection and role-modeling, historical and systemic trauma as a daily barrier, navigating …

Karst Hydrogeologic Framework And Factors Contributing To Flooding In Burgin, Kentucky, Charles Taylor, Junfeng Zhu, Matthew Carmichael, Hudson J. Koch

KGS Publications and Maps

This report examines the karst hydrogeologic setting and drainage characteristics that are thought to contribute to frequent severe flooding in the city of Burgin in Mercer County, Kentucky. Burgin is located at the eastern end of an approximately 4.5 mi² mapped karst groundwater basin in the Ordovician limestone aquifer system in the Inner Bluegrass karst region. Flooding occurs within a streamless 1.4 mi² dry karst valley where almost all channelized surface runoff has been captured by sinkholes and sinking stream segments and diverted underground by conduit piracy. The only natural outlet for water exiting from the karst valley and larger …

Managing Solar-Powered Digital Education Infrastructure: Institutional Capacity, Financing, And Sustainability In Rural India, Suresh Banoth, Udaya Muthyala, Jyothsna Bethala Aug 2026

Managing Solar-Powered Digital Education Infrastructure: Institutional Capacity, Financing, And Sustainability In Rural India, Suresh Banoth, Udaya Muthyala, Jyothsna Bethala

Journal of Management for Global Sustainability

Solar-powered digital infrastructure is increasingly being promoted as a sustainable solution for rural education; however, its long-term viability depends less on technological deployment than on institutional management capacity. This study examines how solar-powered digital classrooms (SPDCs) are governed, financed, and sustained in eleven rural government schools in Telangana, India. Drawing on the Technology Acceptance Model and an institutional perspective on sustainability, the study conceptualizes renewable energy integration as a public-sector management process rather than a purely technological intervention. An exploratory case study design was employed using semi-structured interviews, classroom observations, and institutional document analysis. The findings indicate that while solar …

Intellectual Interoperability: Lessons From Afghanistan For Security Cooperation, Sae Schatz, Scott C. Buchanan Aug 2026

Intellectual Interoperability: Lessons From Afghanistan For Security Cooperation, Sae Schatz, Scott C. Buchanan

The US Army War College Quarterly: Parameters

This article argues that intellectual interoperability—the cognitive and conceptual alignment necessary for multinational partners to coordinate decision making effectively—is a critical, yet undervalued, dimension of security cooperation. While considerable scholarship already explores technical and procedural interoperability, this piece examines its human dimensions and demonstrates their significance through an evidence-based analysis of gaps observed in Afghanistan (2001–21). Drawing on policy documents, doctrine, scholarly literature, and one author’s firsthand experience as a Ministry of Defense adviser in Afghanistan, this article offers military and policy practitioners three actionable lessons for building security partnerships resilient enough to withstand strategic pressure.

Collaborative Ecosystems And Sustainability Transitions: Evidence From Stina Inc. And The Tube Recycling Project, Edith Galy

International Business and Entrepreneurship Faculty Publications

Many sustainability challenges faced by firms are systemic and cannot be addressed by individual organizations acting alone. Packaging recyclability is one such challenge, as it depends on coordinated product design, downstream infrastructure acceptance, and stakeholder trust across an entire value chain. This study examines how a collaborative ecosystem enables progress toward recyclable plastic squeeze tubes through the action of a neutral intermediary. Drawing on an in depth qualitative case study of the Tube Recycling Project coordinated by Stina Inc., the analysis integrates interview data with project documentation to examine how firms collaborated across competitive boundaries. The findings show that sustainability …

Innovation And Adaptation: Lessons From The Russia-Ukraine War, 2024, Stephan Bolton, John A. Nagl Aug 2026

Innovation And Adaptation: Lessons From The Russia-Ukraine War, 2024, Stephan Bolton, John A. Nagl

The US Army War College Quarterly: Parameters

The third year of the Russia-Ukraine War was marked by inconclusive counterattacks and minimal territorial gains despite a loss of life and materiel, mostly on the Russian side, greater than any witnessed in Europe since World War II. The most important lessons for US forces from this year of the war are the impact and promise of emerging, multi-use technology on war-fighting functions and domains. Perhaps most notably, each year of this war has further reinforced principles of mission command, either by their observance or omission.

Transforming The Us Army Reserve For Protracted War, Joshua Yarbrough Aug 2026

Transforming The Us Army Reserve For Protracted War, Joshua Yarbrough

The US Army War College Quarterly: Parameters

This article argues the US Army Reserve must be transformed from an operational to an adaptive reserve to meet the demands of protracted, high-intensity warfare. The author’s analysis focuses on how the Army Reserve’s current structure lacks the strategic depth, mobilization capacity, and training to sustain long-term conflict. Drawing on historical cases, contemporary conflicts, and official documents, this article blends strategic analysis with policy recommendations, offering practitioners actionable reforms relevant to the Army Transformation Initiative and future Joint Force readiness in large-scale combat operations.

From Reliability To Fit: Trust, Adaptation, And Distributed Cognition In Ai-Enabled Mission Command, C. Anthony Pfaff Aug 2026

From Reliability To Fit: Trust, Adaptation, And Distributed Cognition In Ai-Enabled Mission Command, C. Anthony Pfaff

The US Army War College Quarterly: Parameters

This special commentary argues that military articificial intelligence integration must pivot from model reliability to a “cognitive fit” within human-machine teams to ensure decision advantage under uncertainty. It advances beyond traditional artificial intelliegenceintelligence metrics by focusing on dynamic operational adaptation, and systemic resilience. The research employs an eco-cognitive framework, synthesizing John Boyd’s evolutionary theories with modern cognitive science and risk management principles. This analysis offers policy and military practitioners a crucial blueprint for designing command structures that preserve human judgment and mitigate risk.

Constraint Breeds Lethality: Three Models Of Military Ai Adoption, Branko Ruzic Aug 2026

Constraint Breeds Lethality: Three Models Of Military Ai Adoption, Branko Ruzic

The US Army War College Quarterly: Parameters

This article argues that the United States faces an institutional, not technological, adaptation gap in military artificial intelligence (AI). Constraints drive adversaries toward optimization choices that generate greater operational lethality than abundance-driven Western procurement allows. Departing from algorithmic or budget-centric commentary, it compares three procurement architectures (compliance-optimized, battlefield-validated, and systematically extractive) and treats Ukraine as a distinct wartime adoption system rather than a fourth model. Using Russian ZALA Lancet loitering munition strike data, Chinese-language doctrine on dissipative warfare, and US and NATO acquisition documentation, the analysis offers acquisition executives and combatant commanders five reforms achievable within existing authorities.
