The Impact Of Interior Architecture On Improving The Quality Of Life In Residential Spaces, Khaled M. Zaki Hawas
Journal of Art, Design and Music
The importance of interior architecture lies in its ability to improve the user experience by treating residential spaces in better ways, and improving the internal environment so that it is harmonious and consistent with its purposes. Among the new trends in interior architecture, a new concept is rapidly making its way to the surface: "Wellbeing Living" or "Good Living", which is concerned with residential well-being and the need to organize spaces so that the cognitive response of the individual is responsible for a more balanced personal life and better functioning. Interior Architecture and Quality of Life (QoL) – are two …

Properties Of Shape Memory Alloys In Solving Design Problems, Aya Mahmoud Ad-El Gawad Gouda
Journal of Art, Design and Music
Shape Memory Alloys (SMAs) are a unique class of materials that possess the ability to return to a predefined shape when subjected to specific thermal or mechanical stimuli. This property, known as the "shape memory effect," arises from the transformation between two phases: the low-temperature martensite phase and the high-temperature austenite phase. SMAs have gained significant attention in various engineering fields, particularly in solving complex design problems that require materials with the ability to undergo reversible deformation. These alloys exhibit exceptional properties such as high strength, elasticity, and the ability to absorb significant amounts of energy, which make them ideal …

Influence Of Clothes Reuse On Teenagers' Wear Sustainability, Tariq M. Zagloul, Amira A. Elnawasany, Naglaa M. Teama
Journal of Art, Design and Music
This research contributes to the reuse of used clothes to produce clothes for teenagers, as they are in a stage in where rapid physical changes occur. So, they need a quick change in clothing sizes. As fashion changes, the life cycle of clothes ends, which leads to a lot of clothes being wasted without benefit. Consumers dispose of clothes in ways that are not safe for the environment. In this study, three design collections were prepared for different types of used clothes to reuse them and produce clothing for teenagers from 11 to 14 years old, with the addition of …

Magela Garcés Ramírez's thesis, entitled Between Fiction and Reality. An Approach to the Apocryphal in Contemporary Cuban Art, is a research proposal consisting of four artists, whose common factor is that they discuss the limits of reality and its connection with fiction, with the intention of raising the next questions: What we are seeing?, Is it real?, Is it true?, Is it part of everyday life? The thesis proposes a division of categories to analyze the above: “remix,” “heteronym,” “historical object,” and “simulacrum product.” The document addresses the theorizations, methodologies, background, and selection criteria of artists, namely Jorge Rodríguez …

The Trauma-Informed Supervision Model (Tism), Melissa Luke, Sarah Litt
Trauma Counseling and Resilience
Trauma-informed counseling is an increasingly important component of contemporary counselor training and practice, but it remains under-represented in supervisory models and frameworks. As supervision is identified as the primary and signature practice for the training of all mental health professionals, we developed a conceptual and integrative supervision model grounded in the theoretical and research support for trauma-informed counselor training. Extending the discrimination model, we present the second-generation trauma-informed supervision model (TISM), a six domain by three foci by three role model to address this gap. We illustrate each of the 54 domain-foci-role combinations with trauma-informed supervisory examples that can inform …

Conflict Resolution Styles In Intimate Relationships Of College Students With Adverse Childhood Experiences, Huijuan Li, David K. Duys, Byeolbee Um
Trauma Counseling and Resilience
Adverse childhood experiences (ACEs), as potentially traumatic early-life experiences, can influence how individuals relate to others, often leading to challenges in intimate relationships. During the transition to adulthood, college students engage in identity development while also navigating the critical skill of conflict resolution necessary for fostering and maintaining intimate relationships. In this study, we collected data from 434 college students at a Midwest university regarding their ACEs and conflict resolution styles using the 10-item ACEs questionnaire and the Conflict Resolution Styles Inventory (CRSI). Results showed significant differences in ACEs scores based on demographic factors such as gender, race/ethnicity, and sexual …

The Emotional Landscape Of Cult Involvement From Recruitment To Disaffiliation: A Grounded Theory Study Of Survivor Experiences To Inform Trauma Counseling, Yaroslaba Garcia, Suzanne M. Dugger, Jackie Greene
Trauma Counseling and Resilience
This study used a constructivist grounded theory design to explore survivors’ unwanted emotions across the recruitment, retention, and disaffiliation phases of cult involvement. Through inductive analysis, the researchers developed a theoretical model grounded in participants’ experiences to explain the persistence and impact of these emotions. The researchers conducted in-depth interviews with 15 U.S.-based cult survivors of diverse types of cults and with varying lengths of membership. Participants completed three onehour interviews, each focused on unwanted emotions during a specific phase of cult involvement. Data analysis included iterative coding, bracketing meetings, and memo-writing. Analysis revealed 16 categories of unwanted emotions, with …

Positive Psychology Interventions For Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (Ptsd) Among Earthquake Survivors In Nepal, Niusha Karki, Melissa C. Henry, Mark M. Leach
Trauma Counseling and Resilience
Natural disasters produce both community and individual trauma; Nepal’s 2015 and 2023 earthquakes exemplify this enduring impact. Previous literature has discussed the effects of PTSD and other mental health concerns post-disasters, providing some context to the difficulties in providing counseling services to those in need. However, little is known about unique psychological, cultural, and contextual factors in Nepal and how their influence and understanding may result in modifying traditional PTSD counseling interventions found in much of the existing professional literature. The purpose of this conceptual paper is to propose a culturally responsive, strengths-based framework that integrates positive psychology interventions, positive …

Navigating Collective Trauma Following A Workplace Mass Shooting, Rebecca Cowan, Vanessa Qualls, Shari Andreasen
Trauma Counseling and Resilience
Public mass shootings occur most frequently in workplace settings, yet little is known about the experiences of survivors, co-victims, and first responders of these incidents and how they cope with this shared trauma. This collective case study examined the experiences of 14 survivors, co-victims, and first responders affected by a single workplace mass shooting. Reflexive thematic analysis revealed four main themes: (1) the spectrum of suffering, (2) ripple becomes wave: the spread of trauma, (3) forgotten in recovery, and (4) the healing power of shared experience. This study offers insight into the collective nature of impact and recovery, and how …
Piracy And Patriotism: The Forces Of Resistance In Viet Nam’S Video Game Industry During The 2000s To The Early 2010s Through The Case Of 7554, Dat Vo
Rushton Journal of Undergraduate Humanities Research
This paper examines cultural resistance in Viet Nam’s video game industry through the case of 7554, the country’s first indie, first-person shooter. Piracy, normalized by economic hardship and distrust of capitalist systems, both enabled access and undermined domestic creativity. Viet Nam’s shifting intellectual property laws reflected broader balancing between socialist sovereignty and global economic integration. By situating 7554 within Viet Nam’s historical context from colonial resistance to socio-economic reforms, this study argues that piracy functioned not only as economic necessity but also as a decolonial practice shaping cultural sovereignty.
