Test Case Prioritization Using Ant Colony Optimization To Improve Fault Detection And Time, Nurezayana Zainal, Muhammad Sh Salleh, Nur Atiqah Wahidah Sulaiman, Ammar Alazab, Nur Liyana Sulaiman
Journal of Informatics and Web Engineering
Regression testing plays a critical role in ensuring the reliability and quality of software following continuous integration and development. However, executing all test cases during regression testing can be time-consuming and resource-intensive. Test Case Prioritization (TCP) addresses this challenge by determining an optimal execution order of test cases that maximizes early fault detection while minimizing execution time. Optimization algorithms contribute significantly to enhancing the effectiveness of TCP while utilizing limited resources. This study proposes an Ant Colony Optimization (ACO) algorithm to address the TCP problem, leveraging its strength in navigating complex search spaces inspired by the foraging behavior of real …

Floods are one of the most frequent and damaging natural hazards in Malaysia, especially in low-lying places, such as Batu Pahat and Johor. National flood monitoring systems, such as InfoBanjir and Malaysian Meteorological Department (MET) Malaysia, have disjointed data pools, late updates, and inadequate public access. In this paper, we present an IFMS, which is a contemporary web platform developed to integrate national flood management systems through data collection, automatic processing, dynamic visualization tools, and others. The system architecture consists of three main layers: IoT-enabled flood sensors, centralized web server, and responsive user interfaces. Backend processing is performed using Laravel, …

Evaluating Accuracy Latency And Robustness Of Face Recognition Models For Real-Time Web Applications, Alani Fatini Sharzizi, Nur Afiqah Sahadun, Abdulkadir Hassan Disina, Harinda Fernando
Journal of Informatics and Web Engineering
Face-recognition technology is one of the most important advancements in the field of computer vision. They play a crucial role in many applications, including biometric authentication, surveillance, online security, and interactive web systems. The use of web-based solutions is increasing continuously. Therefore, accurate and fast recognition models employing few resources are required in real-world applications. However, because of the challenges related to such environments, including the lighting, occlusion, pose, and computing power of client devices, it is difficult to ascertain which model will be most successful in a real-life scenario. The purpose of this research is to compare four deep …

Journal of Informatics and Web Engineering
Electric Discharge Machining (EDM) is a non-traditional machining process that utilizes electric sparks between an electrode and a workpiece submerged in a dielectric fluid to ablate a material. It is commonly used in die-making, aerospace, automotive manufacturing, and medical manufacturing, because it can machine hard and complex materials with high precision. In this work, a Surface Roughness Optimization for EDM (SRO-EDM) model is proposed to investigate the machining performance of the die-sinking EDM process of titanium alloys. A regression-based combined approach of Glowworm Swarm Optimization (GSO) and a Two-Factor Interaction (2FI) model has been proposed to investigate the impact of …

Journal of Maine Medical Center
Problem: Overdose deaths and rising rates of infectious disease in the state of Maine warrant a strong public health response, overdose prevention education, and interventions. Initiatives for community drug checking are an innovative approach to understanding the composition of the current drug supply. Drug-checking initiatives can inform people who use drugs (PWUD) what adulterants might be present in their drug supply. In partnership with 3 community organizations in Maine, Project DHARMA supports PWUD and community partners with infectious disease screening, community drug checking, and infection and overdose prevention.
Approach: Project DHARMA supports the delivery of evidence-based infection and overdose prevention …

Translator Professional Identity Under Market Demands: A Qualitative Analysis Of Job Advertisements In The Saudi Translation Market, Dr. Saad Salem Alshamrani
UB Journal for Humanities
This study examines how the professional translator identity develops in the Saudi translation market through recruitment discourse. It employs a qualitative analysis approach of Saudi job advertisements to address the research objectives. The researcher compiled a corpus of sixty Arabic and English translation related job advertisements publicly published on certain major platforms across Saudi Arabia. The analysis of these advertisements aims to explore how the employer expectations shape out the professional roles, skills, competencies and values. Equally important, the analysis probed on how the job advertisements meticulously detail the market demands and professional criteria through recurring requirements and evaluative descriptors. …

The Muslim Woman In Diaspora And The Reconstruction Of Identity In Leila Aboulela’S Minaret, Mashhoor Abdu Al-Moghales
UB Journal for Humanities
Identity reconstruction frequently represents a major challenge for immigrants who settle in a new land. Leila Aboulela (b. 1964) presents the complexities faced by the diaspora of Muslim women in constructing a new identity that aligns with their new reality, without forgetting or affecting their original roots. In Minaret (2005), Aboulela highlights the strength and independence of the Muslim woman through her female character, Najwa, presenting Muslim women as successful and resilient, in defiance of prevailing stereotypes. Drawing on Lila Abu-Lughod’s anthropological critique in Do Muslim Women Need Saving? alongside Homi Bhabha’s theories of hybridity and the Third Space, the …
Handicrafts And Heritage Sustainability As An Approach To Supporting The Tourism Economy According To Women’S Empowerment Initiatives In The Kingdom Of Saudi Arabia, Hana Bint Mafawz Saleem Al-Fawaz

The aim of the research is to identify the social, cultural, and economic dimensions of handicrafts and their role in sustaining Saudi heritage, as well as to explore the role of state institutions and civil society in supporting the empowerment of Saudi women. The research assumes that there are no statistically significant differences in the evaluation of the dimensions of women’s empowerment initiatives regarding the role of handicrafts in supporting the tourism economy considering Saudi Vision 2030, according to the opinions of specialists. The research followed a descriptive-analytical approach for a sample of Saudi women’s empowerment initiatives, totaling three initiatives. …
The Language Matters In Restaurant Menus: The Saudi Arabian Marketing Perspective, Abdulaziz Khalid Alotaibi
The Language Matters In Restaurant Menus: The Saudi Arabian Marketing Perspective, Abdulaziz Khalid Alotaibi
UB Journal for Humanities
The study investigates the effect of variations of menu language on customer purchasing decisions in Saudi Arabian restaurants operating under fixed price systems. Furthermore, the study examines how different linguistic approaches used in menu descriptions impact customer ordering behaviors within the Saudi hospitality industry’s unique culture and multilingual setting. Thus, a cross-sectional quantitative survey employed experimental vignettes across four language conditions: basic descriptions, sensory-rich descriptions, culturally authentic words, and premium positioning phrases. Hence, through an application of stratified random sampling, data were collected from 447 restaurant customers living in Saudi Arabia’s five most significant metropolitan areas. The findings indicated that …

Reviving The Skies: The Impact Of Government Focus On Aviation Industry Growth In The Post-Covid World, Sumeet Hassan Anwar, Humna Asad
Journal of Aviation Technology and Engineering
Travel restrictions and border closures during the COVID-19 epidemic drastically reduced air traffic that affected the aviation sector. With an eye toward regional variances and public-private alliances, this essay investigates how government policies, financial interventions, and regulatory frameworks assisted recovery attempts. The essay also looks at how network-based resilience models lower vulnerabilities and improve operational connection, thus guaranteeing future disturbance readiness. Autoregressive integrated moving average models, among other forecasting instruments, help to forecast aviation demand and match recovery plans with changing market dynamics. By means of comparative policy analysis and network theory, this study reveals best practices from Asia, Europe, …
