Qualitative data analysis, particularly thematic analysis, is a widely used method for uncovering patterns and insights in narrative data but often faces challenges such as being resource-intensive and susceptible to researcher bias. In recent years, Large Language Models (LLMs) have emerged as promising tools to assist human coders in conducting thematic analysis, offering efficiency and scalability in processing large datasets. However, existing work primarily relies on tools like ChatGPT, raising privacy concerns—especially when analyzing sensitive healthcare data—and lacks systematic validation through comparisons with human coders. This study aims to evaluate the potential of open-source LLMs for qualitative data analysis. Semi-structured …

Single-Valued, Double-Valued, Triple-Valued, Quadruple-Valued, And Quintuple-Valued Neutrosophic Graph, Takaaki Fujita, Arif Mehmood, Arkan A. Ghaib
Neutrosophic Systems with Applications
Concepts such as fuzzy sets, neutrosophic sets, rough sets, and plithogenic sets have been extensively studied as formal tools for modeling uncertainty, and they have found broad applications across many disciplines. A Double-Valued Neutrosophic Set (DVNS) extends the classical neutrosophic framework by splitting indeterminacy into two distinct components: one leaning toward truth and the other leaning toward falsity. In recent years, further refinements—namely Triple-Valued, Quadruple-Valued, and Quintuple-Valued Neutrosophic Sets—have also been introduced and investigated. These uncertainty models have naturally been lifted to graph-theoretic settings, where vertices and edges represent entities and relationships under ambiguity. Although fuzzy graphs and neutrosophic graphs …

Department of Pediatrics Faculty Papers
Mucopolysaccharidosis IVA (MPS IVA) is caused by the accumulation of undegraded glycosaminoglycans due to the deficiency of the N-acetylgalactosamine-6-sulfate sulfatase (GALNS) enzyme. MPS IVA manifests as progressive systemic skeletal dysplasia. Gene therapy (GT) is potentially a one-time treatment in which the enzyme is continuously produced, circulated, and delivered to target tissues. However, immune responses to gene products can diminish therapeutic efficacy. We hypothesized that oral delivery of tolerogenic peptides induces immune tolerance to human GALNS (hGALNS) in MPS IVA mice, enhancing therapeutic efficacy. Neonatal mice deficient in mouse GALNS (mGALNS) were treated orally with three T-cell/B-cell epitope peptides or hGALNS …

Thrombosis remains a leading cause of cardiovascular morbidity and mortality. During thrombosis, activated platelets and endothelial cells expose phosphatidylserine (PS) on their outer membranes, creating a surface that accelerates clot formation. Current antithrombotic therapies, such as heparin and warfarin, carry significant bleeding risks, highlighting the need for safer alternatives. In response, we developed a PS-targeting liposomal formulation composed of Zn-dipicolylamine (DPA)-cyanine-3[22,22] and 1-palmitoyl-2-oleoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphocholine (molar ratio 3:97). This DPA-harboring liposome (DPAL) binds selectively to PS-rich surfaces such as activated platelets and has demonstrated efficacy in reducing thrombosis in mouse models, with minimal bleeding. In the present study, we examined the interaction …

Public hospitals continue to face complaints related to the registration process, such as long waiting times, unclear information, and inadequate waiting facilities. This study aims to assess patient satisfaction with outpatient registration services by comparing expectations and perceptions based on Expectancy Disconfirmation Theory and by using the Importance Performance Analysis (IPA) method to provide service improvement recommendations. This quantitative study employed an analysis of identically similar characteristics of paired Expectation and Perception 84 patients, …

N-Dqn: Neutrosophic Deep Q-Network For Uncertainty-Aware Forecasting And Decision Optimization, Rania Lutfi
Neutrosophic Systems with Applications
Uncertainty remains a critical challenge in dynamic spatiotemporal forecasting. This study proposes the Neutrosophic Deep Q-Network (N-DQN), a framework that integrates neutrosophic logic with deep reinforcement learning to enhance decision optimization under uncertainty. Features are modeled through truth, indeterminacy, and falsity membership functions, enabling robust handling of ambiguous data. The framework incorporates attention-guided preprocessing and horizon-aware optimization to adapt predictions across short- and long-term intervals. Experiments on benchmark traffic datasets (METR-LA and PEMS-BAY) demonstrate improved forecasting accuracy and reduced error rates compared with established baselines. The results highlight the scalability and resilience of N-DQN, positioning it as a promising approach …

Neutrosophic Systems with Applications
This paper introduces a novel mathematical framework that combines Neutrosophic Finsler Geometry with Neutrosophic Cohomology for evaluating the performance of Brushless Direct Current (BLDC) motors under uncertain and indeterminate operating conditions. Classical motor performance models typically assume precise measurements of torque, current, and efficiency; however, in real-world settings, these parameters are often affected by noise, incomplete information, and conflicting observations. By embedding motor operating states into a neutrosophic Finsler space, the proposed approach captures variations not only in magnitude but also in direction, uncertainty, and conflict of performance metrics. In addition, neutrosophic Cohomology is employed to characterize global invariants of …

This study investigates the impact of gamification strategies on customer churn reduction in entrepreneurial retail firms, focusing on Millennial consumers in Malaysia’s Klang Valley. Customer churn threatens profitability, particularly for emerging enterprises, and gamification has emerged as a potential tool to enhance customer engagement and retention. Drawing on the Self-Determination Theory, the study examines three gamified marketing interventions: membership programmes, contest rewards, and personalised discounts as direct predictors of churn reduction. A quantitative, cross-sectional research design was employed, using a structured questionnaire distributed to 180 Millennial consumers through purposive sampling. The data were analysed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation …
