Enhancing Pharmaceutical Waste Management: Insights From Pharmacists' Perspectives On The Drug Take-Back Program, Mona Daher
Theses
Pharmaceutical waste management is essential for mitigating environmental risks associated with improper medication disposal, with pharmacists playing a pivotal role in drug take-back programs (DTBPs). However, there is limited understanding of pharmacists' engagement, perceptions, and challenges within these initiatives. This study aimed to address this gap by investigating these aspects among licensed pharmacists in the United States. A mixed-methods survey was distributed to 2200 pharmacists, yielding 81 responses (3.7% response rate). The findings revealed that familiarity with DTBPs did not significantly differ by state or practice setting, but positively correlated with experience and perceived effectiveness. Interestingly, on-the-job learning emerged as …

On Existence Of Prime K-Tuples Conjecture For Positive Proportion Of Admissible K-Tuples, Ashish Mor, Surbhi Gupta
On Existence Of Prime K-Tuples Conjecture For Positive Proportion Of Admissible K-Tuples, Ashish Mor, Surbhi Gupta
Baghdad Science Journal
Number theorists believe that primes play a central role in Number theory and that solving problems related to primes could lead to the resolution of many other unsolved conjectures, including the prime k-tuples conjecture. This paper aims to demonstrate the existence of this conjecture for admissible k-tuples in a positive proportion. The authors achieved this by refining the methods of “Goldston, Pintz and Yildirim” and “James Maynard” for studying bounded gaps between primes and prime k-tuples. These refinements enabled to overcome the previous limitations and restrictions and to show that for a positive proportion of admissible k-tuples, there is the …

Linear Enamel Hypoplasia In Homo Naledi Reappraised In Light Of New Retzius Periodicities, Mark Fretson Skinner, Lukas Kyle Delezene, Matthew M. Skinner, Patrick Mahoney
Anthropology Faculty Publications and Presentations
Objectives
Among low-latitude apes, developmental defects of enamel often recur twice yearly, linkable to environmental cycles. Surprisingly, teeth of Homo naledi from Rising Star in South Africa (241–335 kya), a higher latitude site with today a single rainy season, also exhibit bimodally distributed hypoplastic enamel defects, but with uncertain timing and etiology. Newly determined Retzius periodicities for enamel formation in this taxon enable a reconstruction of the temporal patterning of childhood stress.
Methods
Using high resolution casts of 31 isolated anterior teeth from H. naledi, 82 enamel defects (linear enamel hypoplasia [LEH]) were identified. Seventeen teeth are assigned …

Entangled Positionality: Researchers’ Everyday Practices Amidst Coronavirus, War, And Parenting, Vlas Nikulkin, Olga Zvonareva
The Qualitative Report
Reflecting on the researcher’s position is crucial for understanding how data are gathered, analyzed, and presented. However, researcher positionality is often reckoned through overly deterministic and rigid social statuses. This is problematic, as intertwined everyday practices of researchers’ living and doing fieldwork are diverse and messy. By reflecting on ethnographic research in Russia during the COVID-19 pandemic and in the wake of the Russo-Ukrainian war, we elaborate an alternative way to speak of and identify the researcher’s position. Using the concept of “entanglement,” we describe how researchers’ everyday practices together with large-scale events, researchers’ social statuses, personal lives, and mundane …
The Impact Of Applied Mental Health Classes On Eudaimonia, Gratitude, And Heart Rate Variability, Derek Charles Bartlett
The Impact Of Applied Mental Health Classes On Eudaimonia, Gratitude, And Heart Rate Variability, Derek Charles Bartlett
Theses and Dissertations
Rates of depression, anxiety, and stress have been increasing and college students are especially at risk. College counseling centers often have long waitlists and have difficulty addressing the growing need for psychotherapy. Researchers have suggested that depression and anxiety may arise because of low levels of eudaimonia and self-compassion. Depression and anxiety not only have a toll on mental health but on physical health as well, as researchers have observed decreased HRV in individuals with depression and anxiety. To address the disparity between available resources and treatment need, applied mental health classes were developed to see if teaching psychotherapeutic principles …

Master Formulas For N -Photon Tree Level Amplitudes In Plane Wave Backgrounds, Patrick Copinger, James P. Edwards, Anton Ilderton, Karthik Rajeev
School of Engineering, Computing and Mathematics
The presence of strong electromagnetic fields adds huge complexity to QED Feynman diagrams, such that new methods are required to calculate higher-loop and higher-multiplicity scattering amplitudes. Here we use the worldline formalism to present "master formulas"for all tree level amplitudes of two massive particles and an arbitrary number of photons, in a plane wave background, in both scalar and spinor QED. The plane wave is treated without approximation throughout, meaning in particular that our formulas are valid in the strong-field regime of current theoretical and experimental interest. We check our results against literature expressions obtainable at low multiplicity via direct …

Copper is a cheaper alternative to various noble metals with a range of potential applications in the field of nanoscience and nanotechnology. However, copper nanoparticles have major limitations, which include rapid oxidation on exposure to air. Therefore, alternative pathways have been developed to synthesize metal nanoparticles in the presence of polymers and surfactants as stabilizers, and to form coatings on the surface of nanoparticles. These surfactants and polymeric ligands are made from petrochemicals which are non- renewable. As fossil resources are limited, finding renewable and biodegradable alternative is promising. The study aimed at preparing, characterizing and evaluating the antibacterial properties of …
