Sensor Technologies And Integration Approaches For Smart Prosthetic Health Monitoring: A State-Of-The-Art Narrative Review, Mohammed Q. Abdulhasan, Jumaa S. Chiad, Firas M. Abdulghani Oct 2026

Sensor Technologies And Integration Approaches For Smart Prosthetic Health Monitoring: A State-Of-The-Art Narrative Review, Mohammed Q. Abdulhasan, Jumaa S. Chiad, Firas M. Abdulghani

AUIQ Technical Engineering Science

Transforming the residual-limb-socket interface from an intermittently evaluated ``black box'' into a monitored clinical setting that permits objective fit assessment, early danger detection, and better long-term prosthesis use is the aim of smart prosthetic health monitoring. This narrative exploration compiles peer-reviewed literature on sensing technology and, importantly, integration strategies that affect practical usability. Iterative searches by keywords and citation linking across major engineering and biomedical journal platforms were used to find literature, giving priority to current contributions while preserving important foundational works. The chosen studies were examined and classified based on (i) sensing modality (pressure/shear, temperature-humidity microclimate, chemical and perfusion-related …

Synthesis Protocols For Solar Cell Materials From Laboratory Fabrication To Scalable Manufacturing, Ayad Abbood Abdulhasan, A. M. Mustafa, Mohanad Muzahem Khalaf Oct 2026

Synthesis Protocols For Solar Cell Materials From Laboratory Fabrication To Scalable Manufacturing, Ayad Abbood Abdulhasan, A. M. Mustafa, Mohanad Muzahem Khalaf

AUIQ Technical Engineering Science

Photovoltaic (PV) technology has evolved over seven decades from single-crystal silicon cells with modest efficiencies to a diverse portfolio of silicon, thin-film, and emerging solar-cell architectures approaching or exceeding thermodynamic single-junction limits when combined in tandem configurations. Device efficiency and long-term operational stability are governed not only by the choice of absorber material but, critically, by the synthesis protocol used to fabricate it the crystal-growth method, deposition technique, solvent system, thermal budget, and interface-engineering strategy all leave a lasting imprint on morphology, defect density, and carrier transport. This review provides a comprehensive, protocol-centered survey of solar-cell synthesis across three technology …

Urasawa’S Monster And The Aesthetics Of Uncertainty, Simon Lindblom Oct 2026

Urasawa’S Monster And The Aesthetics Of Uncertainty, Simon Lindblom

Dialogue: The Interdisciplinary Journal of Popular Culture and Pedagogy

This essay examines the anime Monster (Urasawa, 2001) through the lens of Aesthetic action (Klinger, 2024) and ethical praxis. Set in a nostalgically rendered pre-accelerationist Europe, the anime cultivates an atmosphere of uncertainty that prompts viewers to engage in complex moral issues. By exploring the anime's aesthetic strategies, this analysis reveals how Monster functions as a political device, exposing the dark undercurrents of historical trauma and the systemic exclusion of marginalised groups. The essay argues that Monster's deliberate cultivation of indeterminacy, particularly through its morally ambiguous characters and unresolved dilemmas, embodies a Determinate Performance of Indeterminacy (Klinger, 2024). This …

Exploring The Role Of Generative Ai In Enhancing Perceptions Of Support And Clarity In Online Asynchronous Classes, Todd H. West, Jessica L. Clark, George O. Hanshaw Oct 2026

Exploring The Role Of Generative Ai In Enhancing Perceptions Of Support And Clarity In Online Asynchronous Classes, Todd H. West, Jessica L. Clark, George O. Hanshaw

The Interdisciplinary Journal for Research on Pedagogy and Learning Design, Vol. 1, Issue 1., Fall 2026

This study examines the relationship between the use of Spark, a Socratic generative AI assistant, and students’ perceptions of Spark as a potential Vygotskian More Knowledgeable Other (MKO) in asynchronous online courses. Analysis of 4,587 end-of-course surveys compared Spark users with non-users across two constructs: Student Experience (encouragement, engagement, and support) and Sense of Clarity (instructional clarity, structure, and feedback). Spark users reported significantly higher perceptions on both constructs, with differences remaining statistically significant after adjusting for course and instructor variation. Sentiment analysis showed no significant group differences. Spark use was associated with modestly more favorable perceptions of clarity and …

Challenges And Coping Strategies Of Agritourism Operators In South Dakota, Xu Li, Peggy Schlechter Oct 2026

Challenges And Coping Strategies Of Agritourism Operators In South Dakota, Xu Li, Peggy Schlechter

Journal of Extension

This study explored the challenges faced by agritourism operators in South Dakota and examined their coping strategies. Through in-depth interviews with 17 agritourism operators, four major challenges were identified: lack of business knowledge and skills, government regulations, time constraints, and financial concerns. The coping strategies adopted by operators demonstrated their adaptability and resilience. The findings suggest that Extension can play a vital role as an educator, facilitator, and advocate in supporting agritourism development. This study contributes to a deeper understanding of agritourism growth in South Dakota and provides valuable insights for Extension and other organizations involved in supporting agritourism.

Agrivoltaics: Combining Food And Solar Power On Agricultural Lands, Dharla Soteros, Kendall Becker, Spencer J. Good, Ngoni Mufute, Matt Yost, Logan Mitchell, Scott Hotaling Oct 2026

Agrivoltaics: Combining Food And Solar Power On Agricultural Lands, Dharla Soteros, Kendall Becker, Spencer J. Good, Ngoni Mufute, Matt Yost, Logan Mitchell, Scott Hotaling

All Current Publications

Utah’s ranchers and farmers face pressure to sell land to developers, conserve water, and manage increasing production costs (Li et al., 2019). One way producers can keep growing food while diversifying and increasing revenue is by integrating agriculture and solar electricity generation on the same land, a practice known as agrivoltaics. In this fact sheet, the authors describe agrivoltaic setup options, summarize agrivoltaics' impacts on livestock and crop production, and discuss implementation economics.
