This study investigates the dynamics of volatility and its spillover effects between the stock markets of China, India, and Pakistan, and their respective exchange rates (USD/CNY, USD/INR, and USD/ PKR). Volatility is modeled using the Symmetric and Asymmetric BEKK-GARCH (1,1) and DCCGARCH (1,1) models, based on daily return series covering the period from January 1, 2019, to January 31, 2025. The empirical results indicate that both the employed models are adequate for capturing the volatility dynamics. This study explains and predicts the firm’s dividend payment decision using an unbalanced panel dataset of non-financial firms listed on the Pakistan Stock Exchange covering the period 2009-2020. Several traditional statistical models and modern machine learning algorithms are applied to examine the firm-specific and macroeconomic determinants of dividend decision. Logistic regression and dynamic panel probit models indicate that lagged dividend, firm efficiency and firm size positively influence the firm’s dividend decision whereas leverage and sales growth show negative effects. The study investigates the impact of Financial Openness (FOp) or/and Trade Openness (TOp) on the efficiency of the Nigerian Stock Market (NSM). Applying auto-regressive distributed lag model on stock market data, the result revealed that either in individual models or when in one model, an increase in TOp significantly increased the efficiency of the NSM in both the short and long-run, while the contrary holds for a percentage increase in FOp over 2010-2020. This suggests that TOp rather than FOp, significantly contributed to the efficiency of the NSM. Thus, TOp and FOp have differentiated impacts on stock market efficiency. Policymakers …

This comprehensive study examines the dynamic interplay among CEO gender, trade credit, and dividend policies across 563 listed companies in Vietnam from 2006 to 2024. Employing the Generalized Method of Moments to address the endogeneity issue. The findings show that firms led by female CEOs distribute significantly lower dividends than those led by male CEOs. Moreover, a positive nexus exists between trade credit and the dividend payout ratio of listed firms in Vietnam. Furthermore, the study reveals that CEO gender moderates the relationship between trade credit and dividend payouts in Vietnam. Finally, our robustness tests confirm that the results remain …

Background: Peptic ulcer disease refers to deep erosions in the mucosal layer of the GIT and is highly associated with upper gut bleeding, which results in anaemia. Ferritin is a protein that stores iron in the body.

Aim: To estimate serum ferritin levels in relation to anaemia in peptic ulcer disease and assess its potential as a predictor of peptic ulcer bleeding.

Method: A case-control study in Kerbala, Iraq, measured ferritin by ELISA and anaemia by Hb levels on CBC, with ROC curves used to assess sensitivity and specificity.

This study aimed to reveal the potential of Asian swamp eel protein hydrolysate as an anticancer candidate in the cervix. Asian swamp eel protein hydrolysate was produced by hydrolyzing flesh with the enzyme alcalase. Compounds and peptides were identified using LC-HRMS. For regular continued fractions (CFs), points with finite expansions are exactly the rationals and, by Lagrange's theorem, points with eventually-periodic expansions are exactly the roots of non-degenerate quadratic equations with integer coefficients. We extend both results to proper and discrete Iwasawa CFs, including real, complex, 3D, quaternionic, octonionic, and Heisenberg CFs. Namely, the following three conditions are equivalent for a point $p$: $p$ has a finite expansion, $p\in \mathcal M(\infty)$ for the appropriate modular group $\mathcal M$, and $p$ is a fixed point of a parabolic transformation in $\mathcal M$. Millions of consumers navigate dietary restrictions every time they eat out, whether due to food allergies, religious practices, or lifestyle choices such as veganism. Yet most restaurant menus do little to acknowledge these needs. This report summarizes findings from a three-phase study that explored which menu design features most effectively communicate inclusivity to diners with dietary restrictions and how those features influence emotions, attitudes, and likelihood of choosing a restaurant. The results offer restaurant operators concrete, evidence-based strategies for making their menus more welcoming and, in doing so, expanding their customer base.

Background: Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) in higher education is associated with significant executive functioning deficits and performance inconsistencies. These challenges, alongside heightened rejection sensitivity, may predispose students to the Imposter Phenomenon (IP)—the persistent belief that one’s success is undeserved. While social and academic supports are known to buffer psychological distress, their specific role in mitigating IP within the ADHD student population remains under-researched.

This paper seeks to assess the feasibility of utilizing Bitcoin as a currency within Türkiye. To achieve this, the research analyzes long-term cointegration relationships between Bitcoin and both the US Dollar and Euro, employing monthly data from November 2017 to February 2025 and utilizing the Fourier Shin cointegration test. The results of the cointegration tests, bolstered by Fourier series analysis, reveal significant long-term cointegration relationships between Bitcoin and both the USD and Euro. The DOLS analysis indicates that a 1% rise in Bitcoin leads to a 14% decrease in the USD price and a 17% increase in the Euro. These …
