Decoupling Personalized Payment Data For Rendering In Custom User Interfaces, Dinoop Dayanand, Nicholas Cowles, Kushagra Patel, Hemen Chhatbar, Yong Ni, Xiaoqin Huang, Nelson Chen, Brandon Herring

Defensive Publications Series

Online checkout systems may restrict the use of personalized payment data, such as card art, to standard, pre-packaged user interface (UI) components. This can lead to merchants choosing between using a component that conflicts with their site design and implementing a custom, (less personalized) checkout flow. A disclosed technology can utilize a decoupled architecture with a client-side application programming interface to make structured, personalized payment metadata, such as card details, contextual verbs, and value propositions, available separately from pre-defined UI elements. This separation of the data layer from the presentation layer can enable merchants to consume this data and render …

Cogstack: Persistent Ai Cognition And Multi-Vendor Cognitive Stacking, Niels S. Goldstein Jun 2026

Cogstack: Persistent Ai Cognition And Multi-Vendor Cognitive Stacking, Niels S. Goldstein

Defensive Publications Series

CogStack is a two-layer architecture for autonomous AI agent systems. The first layer, the persistent cognition substrate, externalizes the context produced by interactive AI sessions, compresses it into a durable memory store, and rehydrates it into subsequent stateless API calls, enabling agents to reason continuously across sessions and execution environments. The second layer, multi-vendor cognitive stacking, orchestrates agents drawn from different model providers and families so the composite system exhibits emergent properties that no single constituent produces alone — specifically, decorrelated diversity in which each agent's failure modes do not coincide with the others'. CogStack is designed as the orchestration …

Many Hands Make Light Work: Restoring Edu-Economical Debts For Black Males, Joyice Robinson Myers Jun 2026

Many Hands Make Light Work: Restoring Edu-Economical Debts For Black Males, Joyice Robinson Myers

VA Engage Journal

A college degree is closely linked to economic stability, yet only 20% of Black men in the United States hold a bachelor’s degree or higher. These disparities are not accidental; they are the cumulative result of systems that have systematically denied Black males equitable access to educational and economic opportunity across generations. This systematic review examines the compounding relationship among family structure, educational attainment, and economic standing for Black males, and considers what restoring that relationship could look like in practice. I integrate three theoretical frameworks—Education Debt (Ladson-Billings, 2006), African American Male Theory (Bush & Bush, 2013), and the R³ISE …

Diversification Of Ghost Electric Fishes (Gymnotiformes, Apteronotidae) In Tropical South America: How Traits And Environmental Factors Constrain Macroevolutionary Diversification, Jonathan Gifford Allen

Doctoral Dissertations

Neotropical electric fishes (Apteronotidae) display remarkable phenotypic and ecological diversity, offering an exceptional system for studying macroevolutionary processes in freshwater environments. Here I investigate the morphological, ecological, and historical factors shaping diversification in the clade Navajini, with a focus on craniofacial evolution, species delimitation, and biogeographic patterns. First, using high-resolution micro-CT scans, 3D geometric morphometrics, and phylogenetic comparative methods, I analyze skull shape variation across Navajini. Key traits resulting from heterocephaly exhibit strong phylogenetic signal and reflect functional differentiation among genera. Sexual dimorphism contributes significantly to cranial disparity in some lineages, while others show conserved, modular patterns likely tied to …

Broncosgo: Driving Student Event Participation Via Human-Ai Collaborative Event Curation, Katherine Carter, Ethan Sychangco

Computer Science and Engineering Senior Theses

College campuses rely heavily on email communication for event advertisement. However, due to the sheer number of emails any student may receive, the individual effectiveness of each advertisement decreases. A better alternative for event promotion was needed. How could we introduce students to events they would not usually find on their own, without continuing to fill up their email inbox? And how would information on all of those events be collected and maintained without requiring organizations to jump through extra hoops? Our project, BroncosGo, solves this issue by maintaining a database of campus events which is populated with information provided …

Club Finance Management Application, India Bell, Lydia Martin, Sola Kawahara, Zachariah Wang

Computer Science and Engineering Senior Theses

There are over 160 Registered Student Organizations (RSOs) at SCU as of 2023 [6]. There is currently no centralized system that RSO treasurers use to track and manage club finances. As a result, many organizations rely on fragmented methods such as spreadsheets, shared documents, email chains, and manual record keeping to manage budgets, reimbursements, and financial reports. These disconnected systems often lead to inconsistent organization, communication difficulties, and challenges during leadership transitions between club officers. This project proposes the development of a web-based Club Finance Management Application, Kaikei, designed specifically for Santa Clara University student organizations. The application centralizes financial …
