Modeling Of Terpolymerization Kinetics And Determination Of Reactivity Ratios In The Tdma–Styrene–Maleic Anhydride System, Shohrux Boboxon Ugli Mavlonov, Sadriddin Fayzullayevich Fozilov
Technical science and innovation
In this study, the kinetics of terpolymerization, compositional evolution, and monomer reactivity ratios in the TDMA–styrene–maleic anhydride system were comprehensively investigated. Increasing the initiator concentration from 16.8×10⁻⁶ to 51.3×10⁻⁶ mol•L⁻¹ led to an increase in conversion from 6.4% to 15.2% and reaction rate from 4.075×10⁻⁶ to 8.965×10⁻⁶ mol•L⁻¹•s⁻¹. At low conversion (Xw≈0.02–0.09), the terpolymer composition remained close to the initial feed, although deviations due to differences in monomer reactivity were observed. With increasing conversion, some systems exhibited stable composition (±0.02), while others showed compositional drift (increase of MA fraction from 0.50 to 0.70). The determined reactivity ratios (rTDMA/St≈0.99; rSt/TDMA≈1.62; rTDMA/MA≈2.02; …

A solvent formulation composed of aromatic hydrocarbons of the C9 fraction and aliphatic alcohols in a 1:1 ratio, supplemented with 1–3 wt.% of a nonionic surfactant, has been developed. The proposed composition demonstrates more than a twofold increase in dissolving and washing efficiency toward paraffin-type asphaltene–resin deposits. Furthermore, the solvent system exhibits pronounced depressant–dispersant properties with respect to paraffin-containing organic deposits. Although numerous investigations have addressed the development of technologies for removing organic deposits in oilfield equipment—primarily focusing on specific aspects of eliminating or preventing asphaltene–resin–paraffin deposits (ARPD) in wells—limited attention has been given to the design of integrated approaches. …

This paper examines the problem of synthesizing algorithms for the composition of subsystems at various levels within complex hierarchical control systems under conditions of uncertainty and resource constraints. It is demonstrated that classical composition algorithms, which rely on the intersection of admissible sets and the use of local optimality criteria, suffer from several significant drawbacks. These include a combinatorial increase in complexity, dependence on the expert selection of parameters, and limited applicability in dynamic environments. To overcome these shortcomings, an adaptive-compositional method is proposed. This method is based on the dynamic recalculation of coordination parameters, the integration of model predictive …

This article presents one of the effective ways to improve fuel efficiency and reduce emissions of toxic substances, the use of internal combustion engines with the use of an electric drive in their designs. In recent years, two directions in the development of cars with electromechanical drives have been clearly identified, the first is the creation of a pure electric car, the second is the development of an electromechanical drive with a combined (hybrid) power plant. Due to the lack of efficient energy storage available for mass production, pure electric vehicles have relatively low mileage on a single charge. This …

Technology For Obtaining Aliphatic Amines Based On Liquid By-Products Of Polymerization Processes, Kamila Sabirbaevna Allanazarova, Ulugbek Komiljonovich Urinov
Technical science and innovation
Polymerization processes generate considerable amounts of liquid secondary by-products, which are often underutilized despite their significant chemical potential. Addressing the need for sustainable resource use, this study aims to develop a technological method for converting these by-products into valuable aliphatic amines. The experimental approach involved the pre-treatment of liquid polymerization by-products through fractional distillation to isolate C3–C10 fractions, followed by catalytic amination using Raney nickel under controlled temperature (160°C) and pressure (12 atm) conditions. Analytical methods including gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) and Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) were employed to characterize the reaction products. The results demonstrated the successful formation of …

Strategic Leverage Points For Effective Watershed Governance: A Micmac Structural Analysis Approach, Ivan Taslim, Sambas Basuni, Moh. Yanuar Jarwadi Purwanto, I Putu Santikayasa
Journal of Environmental Science and Sustainable Development
Over the past two decades, watershed governance in Indonesia has been challenged by rapid land-use change, fragmented institutions, and limited integration of scientific evidence into policy. Previous studies have primarily evaluated watershed sustainability using hydrological or socio-economic indicators, whereas the structural relationships among governance, socio-economic, and biophysical factors remain insufficiently explored. To address this gap, this study applies the Matrix of Cross-Impact Multiplications Applied to Classification (MICMAC) method to examine direct and indirect relationships among watershed governance factors. A pentahelix stakeholder analysis involving government, academia, non-governmental organizations, media, and industry was conducted to evaluate 37 factors identified through a systematic …

Toward Intelligent Machines: Conscious Learning And Hardware-Accelerated Ai, Pavia Bera
USF Tampa Graduate Theses and Dissertations
Artificial intelligence systems excel at narrow, well-defined tasks but remain brittle at theboundaries of their training distributions: they cannot quantify uncertainty, adapt continuously to non-stationary data, or operate efficiently on energy-constrained hardware. This dissertation addresses these limitations through four coordinated contributions spanning probabilistic learning algorithms, biologically inspired temporal memory, cross-entity warning propagation via distributed associative memory, and spintronic processing-in-memory.
The first contribution introduces Boosted Bayesian Neural Networks (BBNNs), which extend standard mean-field variational inference by iteratively constructing a mixture posterior through Boosting Variational Inference. On five clinical medical classification datasets, BBNNs achieve superior uncertainty calibration—lower Negative Log-Likelihood and Expected Calibration …

The design of high-entropy alloys is effective in lowering thermal conductivity but often reduces carrier mobility, thereby limiting electrical transport properties. Understanding the relationship among configurational entropy, thermal conductivity, and carrier mobility in high-entropy alloys is critical for enhancing thermoelectric performance. We demonstrate that a systematic and substantial increase in configurational entropy in half-Heusler alloys leads to an asymptotic reduction of lattice thermal conductivity. The reduced phonon group velocity and enhanced phonon scattering induced by atomic-scale chemical disorder result in a low lattice thermal conductivity of 2 watts per meter per kelvin at room temperature, with an achievable minimum of …

Heterogeneous Graph-Augmented Contrastive Learning For Extreme Multi-Class Fiqh Classification, Ali A. Jalil
Heterogeneous Graph-Augmented Contrastive Learning For Extreme Multi-Class Fiqh Classification, Ali A. Jalil
Al-Bahir
- Background/Introduction: Fine-grained text classification in the field of Islamic Jurisprudence (Fiqh) is difficult because of the structural interdependence of the legal concepts and the extremely multi-class long-tail data distribution (667 classes with 5,979 samples, 52.2% of which contain less than 5 samples). The main problem with traditional flat classifiers is that they assume that target classes are independent and orthogonal output neurons which discards very important relational semantics.
- Objectives: This paper seeks to remediate this extreme imbalance and maintain structural taxonomy by modeling the structural space of classification label space itself as an object to be learned, while giving a …

Technical Disclosure: The Urban Biosphere Ziggurat (Ubz), Affordable Housing And Urban Planning, Christopher L. Eckes
Defensive Publications Series
Current high-density urban housing models in the United States routinely fail because they optimize strictly for initial cost-per-square-foot, resulting in double-loaded corridor containment layouts that restrict natural light, induce community stagnation, and induce severe benefit "cliff effects" on upwardly mobile residents. The Urban Biosphere Ziggurat (UBZ) framework resolves this systemic crisis by decoupling high-tech, factory-precise structural engineering from regional, artistic architectural cladding. This disclosure outlines a scalable, non-speculative structural chassis integrated into a Community Land Trust (CLT) and Limited-Equity Housing Cooperative (LEHC) [1.5] governance ecosystem, permanently divesting real estate from predatory international speculation. Current techniques for displaying vertical videos on landscape displays suffer from inefficient use of lateral screen space and rely on linear navigation that yields limited, dwell-time-based engagement data. The disclosed technology addresses this by replacing single-video presentation with a concurrent multi-stream interface, displaying multiple vertical videos side-by-side in a user interface on a screen of a television. The disclosed technology maintains one media content item in an active playback state while keeping peripheral media content items in a subdued state, such as dimmed or paused. Users navigate horizontally to shift the active focus or vertically to populate a completely new …

Power Flow Calculation Method And Application Of Low-Frequency Alternating Current Transmission System For Offshore Wind Power Based On Dru, Hao Yu, Yuwei Yao, Minjia Zheng, Honglin Chen, Zhengmin Zuo, Chenxin Yu, Haishun Sun
Journal of Electric Power Science and Technology
The low-frequency alternating current transmission system for offshore wind power based on a diode rectifier unit (DRU) is a novel technical scheme with application prospects for the grid connection of deep-sea offshore wind power. Due to the uncontrollability of the DRU, the operation state of the low-frequency alternating current system is controlled by wind turbines using a grid-forming amplitude-phase control mode. To analyze the relationship between system operation state and wind power control characteristics, a power flow calculation model of the DRU-based low-frequency alternating current transmission system for offshore wind power was established. Definite conditions and equations to be solved …

A Novel Fault Location Method For Renewable Energy Transmission Lines Based On Time-Domain Transient Voltage Fitting, Li Zhang, Shengnan Li, Shiyao Wang, Shoudong Xu, Ligen Xie, Jinrui Tang
Journal of Electric Power Science and Technology
Affected by the control strategy and parameters of renewable energy units, once a fault occurs in a renewable energy transmission line, the short-circuit current on the renewable energy side exhibits characteristics such as controlled amplitude, sudden phase change, and a high proportion of non-power-frequency components, which leads to the failure of traditional double-end and single-end fault location methods based on power-frequency components. To address this problem, higher-order fault transient differential equations of the renewable energy transmission line before and after the fault point were provided. A joint equation system for solving fault distance was constructed based on the time-domain sampled …

Secondary Frequency Regulation Control And Economic Evaluation Method For Energy Storage Stations Considering Active State-Of-Charge Recovery, Cuomu Yixi, Zhuangxi Tan, Lamu Jiayang, Yuzhou Chen, Li He, Keke Yan
Journal of Electric Power Science and Technology
A secondary frequency regulation control strategy and an economic evaluation method that accounts for active state-of-charge (SOC) recovery were proposed for energy storage stations to improve their frequency regulation performance and cost-effectiveness in secondary frequency regulation. First, the control principles of large-scale energy storage stations in secondary frequency regulation were described, and their power support requirements were analyzed. A frequency support strategy that combines area control error (ACE) and area regulation requirement (ARR) was proposed for energy storage stations. Second, the decoupling characteristics between system frequency support requirements and active SOC recovery requirements were analyzed. Based on active SOC recovery …

A Differential Equation–Based Epidemiological Model Of Post-Operative Chronic Pain In Scoliosis Patients With Data-Driven Analysis, Paige Zhu, Padmanabhan Seshaiyer
CODEE Journal
Chronic post-surgical pain (CPSP) is a common and often overlooked complication following surgical correction of idiopathic scoliosis, impacting long-term patient wellbeing despite improvements in surgical outcomes. This project introduces a novel epidemiological framework to model the progression of CPSP using a compartmental structure. By applying a coupled system of nonlinear differential equations, we simulate pain trajectories over time and assess the effectiveness of surgical interventions. The model is implemented for a single-cohort population and extended to a two-cohort design to compare outcomes between Posterior Spinal Fusion (PSIF) and Vertebral Body Tethering (VBT) procedures. Further stratification by patient age enables us …

Source-Load Extreme Scenario Generation Method For Integrated Energy Systems Based On Wgan-Gp, Zhengxing Zhong, Tong Xing, Chaoyu Xiong, Dechang Yang, Lijun Zhang
Journal of Electric Power Science and Technology
To enhance the operational security of integrated energy systems (IES) under extreme weather conditions, it is essential to fully consider the impact of extreme scenarios in production scheduling. However, because historical samples of extreme scenarios are scarce, IES face challenges in operational scenario modeling and scheduling, making effective methods for generating extreme scenarios highly significant. To address this issue, a method based on a Wasserstein generative adversarial network with gradient penalty (WGAN-GP) was proposed for generating source-load extreme scenarios in IES. By introducing the Wasserstein distance and gradient penalty, the proposed method improves model training stability, increases the diversity of …

Diagnosis Method For Gis Metal Particle Discharge And Mechanical Faults Based On Ultrasonic And Vibration Signals, Jialuo Chai, Shenjiong Yao, Tongtong Lu, Yingjing Chen, Zhousheng Zhang
Journal of Electric Power Science and Technology
Metal particle discharge and mechanical faults inside gas insulated switchgear (GIS) are key factors affecting its safety performance. These faults can be detected and identified using the ultrasonic and vibration signals generated by them. Simulated experiments of four types of particle discharge, normal operation, and flange bolt loosening were designed on a GIS platform, and the time-frequency domain characteristics of the signals were analyzed. It is found that, in the ultrasonic signals, the frequency bands of linear, spherical, and lump particle discharges are mainly concentrated in 50–60 kHz, while that of flaky particle discharge is concentrated in 15–30 kHz; in …

Lqr Control Based On Ga Optimization For Suppressing Power Oscillations In Fractional-Order Vsg, Jun Zhu, Zhengbin Chen, Jiantang Chen, Haozhuo Wei, Penghui Liu, Ming Yang
Journal of Electric Power Science and Technology
A linear quadratic regulator (LQR) optimized based on the genetic algorithm (GA) was designed to suppress power oscillations in a virtual synchronous generator (VSG) under external disturbances. A state-feedback LQR controller was designed by establishing a small-signal model of the VSG power loop. To optimize the control performance, the GA was used to perform offline optimization of the weight-matrix parameters of LQR. The weight-optimized LQR control law was applied to the fractional-order VSG. The simulation results show that, compared with traditional VSG control, the proposed control strategy can effectively suppress power oscillations, reducing the oscillation overshoots of active and reactive …

A Novel Fault-Tolerant Control Strategy Under Submodule Faults Of Modular Multilevel Converters, Yu Guo, Xiangyang Xia, Runwu Li, Rui Yi
Journal of Electric Power Science and Technology
To address the problems of asymmetric arm operation and fundamental and second-harmonic circulating currents caused by submodule faults in a modular multilevel converter (MMC) under hot standby in a flexible direct current system, a fault-tolerant control strategy coordinated by an improved PIR circulating current control and an inner-loop current sliding mode control is proposed. By introducing a three-parameter notch filter to precisely separate the circulating current components, the improved PIR control achieves the coordinated suppression of fundamental and second-harmonic harmonics. Simultaneously, the traditional PI inner-loop control is replaced by the sliding mode control to significantly improve the dynamic response speed …
