Permission Granted? Navigating Ai Use In Graduate Speech-Language Pathology Education, Megann Mcgill, Ana Rivera Rodriguez, Alayna Townsend, Kelly Roy, Christine Fiestas
Teaching and Learning in Communication Sciences & Disorders
The rapid expansion of artificial intelligence (AI), particularly generative AI (GenAI), is transforming higher education and raising important questions about its role in graduate professional training. Speech-language pathology (SLP) programs face the dual challenge of preparing students to engage with AI technologies that are increasingly present in clinical and academic environments while also safeguarding academic integrity, ethical practice, and skill development. This tutorial paper describes the development and delivery of a one-hour, synchronous virtual AI training created for graduate students in a hybrid online Master of Science in SLP program at the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences. The …
Hybrid Renewable Energy System Connected To The Grid With Demand Response Optimization: Case Study Of Iraq And Baghdad, Omayma M. Abdulmajeed, Ghassan A. Bilal, Mohammed A. Fayad, Ikhlas M. Abdel-Qader
Hybrid Renewable Energy System Connected To The Grid With Demand Response Optimization: Case Study Of Iraq And Baghdad, Omayma M. Abdulmajeed, Ghassan A. Bilal, Mohammed A. Fayad, Ikhlas M. Abdel-Qader
Engineering and Technology Journal
Due to the electricity shortage in the power system, it is essential to provide solutions considering optimal economics and environmental protection. Utilizing renewable energy resources (RERs) for production within existing grid infrastructure contributes to a more efficient and eco-friendly power system. The literature has mainly focused on designing individual configurations, often on a single unit, and has often excluded network flexibility and operational strategies such as the DR model. This study details the techno-economic evaluation of a grid-connected hybrid renewable energy system and real-world load demands across two scenarios at the regional and city levels, conducted under Baghdad city's climatic …

Marginalized Parental Experiences In Relation To Inclusive School Practices For Studnets With Significant Cognitive Disabilites: A Qualitative Transcendental Phenomenology Study, Taylor Lee Krueger
Marginalized Parental Experiences In Relation To Inclusive School Practices For Studnets With Significant Cognitive Disabilites: A Qualitative Transcendental Phenomenology Study, Taylor Lee Krueger
Doctoral Dissertations and Projects
The purpose of this transcendental phenomenological study was to understand lived experiences in advocacy for inclusive school practices for parents with students with significant cognitive disabilities at rural primary schools in a southeastern state. The theory guiding this study was Bandura’s social cognitive theory as the interconnected components of the theory are used to understand parental experiences. The central research question was, “What are the lived experiences advocating for inclusive education practices of parents of students with significant cognitive disabilities at K-5 schools in a rural southeastern state?” A literature review was conducted to understand current research related to inclusive …
Building A Defense Economy: World War Ii, Federal Investment, And Georgia’S Economic Transformation, 1940-1965, William Heath Taylor
Building A Defense Economy: World War Ii, Federal Investment, And Georgia’S Economic Transformation, 1940-1965, William Heath Taylor
Doctoral Dissertations and Projects
This dissertation examines how World War II transformed Georgia’s economy from a predominately rural, agricultural economy into a more diversified economy increasingly tied to federal investment, military activity, industrial production, transportation, and commerce. It argues that wartime mobilization accelerated this transformation by directing federal funds into military installations, defense industries, infrastructure, and public services while drawing workers into expanding centers of employment. Using federal records, census data, military publications, corporate reports, newspapers, and oral histories, the study examines Fort Benning, Robins Field, Camp Toccoa, Bell Aircraft, the Brunswick Shipyards, Delta Air Lines, and The Coca-Cola Company. These cases show how …

A Qualitative Content Analysis Of The Personal Branding Practices Of Forbes 30 Under 30 Honorees, Hannah Naylor Regitz
Doctoral Dissertations and Projects
This qualitative study examines the personal branding practices of 10 honorees from the Forbes 2025 North American 30 Under 30 list. Through a thematic content analysis of Instagram, the honorees’ posts, captions, and the conversation climate of their comments from October 2025 were analyzed to determine patterns and similarities in their personal branding practices. Grounded in cultivation theory, this study explored how repeated exposure to curated content of these high-achieving young professionals shapes their personal brand perception. Additionally, it explored their interaction with commenters and the types of comments they engaged with. The analysis revealed seven themes that were present …

Oral Insulin Nanoparticles In Animal Models Of Diabetes: A Systematic Review Of Recent Studies, Dhea Rahmania, Shaum Shiyan, Yulianto Kusnadi, Subandrate Subandrate, Juliana Palungan, Ayeshah Augusta Rosdah
Oral Insulin Nanoparticles In Animal Models Of Diabetes: A Systematic Review Of Recent Studies, Dhea Rahmania, Shaum Shiyan, Yulianto Kusnadi, Subandrate Subandrate, Juliana Palungan, Ayeshah Augusta Rosdah
Pharmaceutical Sciences and Research
Oral insulin has long been explored as a potential alternative to injectable insulin therapy. However, the development remains challenging due to enzymatic degradation in the gastrointestinal tract and limited intestinal absorption. Nanoparticle-based delivery systems have also been proposed as a strategy to protect insulin and improve uptake after oral administration. Therefore, this systematic review aimed to summarize recent preclinical studies investigating oral insulin nanoparticles in diabetic animal models and examine the reported pharmacological outcomes. Relevant studies were identified through database searches in PubMed, SpringerLink, and ScienceDirect using predefined keywords related to oral insulin, nanoparticles, diabetes, and animal models. Articles published …

Voices Unheard: Multilingual Students Reshaping Rural Stem Education, Erin Brooke Elliott-Elrod
Voices Unheard: Multilingual Students Reshaping Rural Stem Education, Erin Brooke Elliott-Elrod
College of Education
The multilingual student population in the United States averages 10.6% nationally. Growth has been most pronounced in the rural Southeast, where schools face demographic shifts with limited linguistic support. At one rural Deep South school named Ridgeway High School (a pseudonym), multilingual student enrollment grew from approximately 5% in 1998 to over 50% by 2024 (A. Harrison, personal communication, January 24, 2026). Yet, not one EL-designated student achieved proficiency in English Language Arts, and school-wide math proficiency stands at 9.15% (Alabama State Department of Education (ALSDE), 2024). STEM disciplines compound these barriers, as access to content and discipline-specific discourse depend …
Ideas Into Policy: An Intellectual History Of The United States Navy’S Equal Opportunity Program, Claire J. Dabrowski
Ideas Into Policy: An Intellectual History Of The United States Navy’S Equal Opportunity Program, Claire J. Dabrowski
Doctoral Dissertations and Projects
This dissertation examines the intellectual history of the United States Navy’s Equal Opportunity Program, arguing that its origins extended far beyond the racial unrest of the late 1960s and early 1970s. Rather than viewing the program solely as an administrative response to crisis, this study demonstrates that it represented the culmination of more than a century of evolving ideas concerning citizenship, military service, constitutional equality, democratic governance, and military professionalism. Employing the methods of intellectual and institutional history, the dissertation traces these ideas from the Civil War through the reforms of Chief of Naval Operations Admiral Elmo R. Zumwalt Jr., …
