Impact Of Workplace Ostracism, Moderated By Personality Traits On Psychological Safety, Aniko Rastovac Feb 2026

Impact Of Workplace Ostracism, Moderated By Personality Traits On Psychological Safety, Aniko Rastovac

Walden Dissertations and Doctoral Studies

Psychological safety, an essential element for fostering collaboration, trust, and innovation, can be undermined by negative interactions in the workplace. Most importantly, a lack of psychological safety is a barrier to individual and organizational growth, development, and innovation, which is necessary for gaining a competitive organizational advantage. The present study examines the concept of workplace ostracism as a negative interaction in the workplace that affects psychological safety. Using the big five personality traits framework, Edmondson’s (1999) concept of psychological safety, and Tett et al.’s (2021) trait activation theory, this quantitative study examined how individual differences moderate the impact of workplace …

Increasing freshwater discharge from the cryosphere has the potential to affect mechanisms that regulate the supply of macronutrients to primary producers in the ocean. Although numerous studies have characterized the biogeochemical effects of freshwater discharge from the Greenland Ice Sheet within fjords, it is unclear to what extent these effects propagate offshore and whether or not seasonal macronutrient availability in Greenland's shelf seas has changed since annual freshwater discharge increased in the mid-1990s. Here, we collate and scrutinize extensive work undertaken over the past century to constrain macronutrient distributions in Greenland's coastal seas. From 1929 to 2022, over 38,000 publicly …

Ceramic on-demand extrusion (CODE) is a new material extrusion additive manufacturing process for advanced ceramics. Studies have demonstrated capability of CODE in producing ceramic parts with superior mechanical properties. The objective of this study was to develop the next generation of CODE printer. The frame, gantry system, extrusion head, oil tank, and radiation subsystem were designed, fabricated, and controlled. Ceramic slurries were developed and fed to the extruder that prints parts onto a bedplate. Green parts were then subject to postprocessing, including drying, debinding, and sintering. Composites and functionally graded materials were created using CODE to further study the process.

Cancer-induced cachexia and anorexia are debilitating complications across many cancers, yet effective treatments remain limited due to a poor understanding of the underlying mechanisms. Here, we identify an uncharacterized tumor-immune-neural circuit driving these syndromes, centered on growth and differentiation factor 15 (GDF15). Using genetically engineered mouse models, we find that loss of GDF15 protects against appetite loss, muscle wasting, and fat loss in pancreatic, lung, and skin cancers. Single-cell RNA sequencing reveals macrophages as a major source of GDF15, induced by tumor-derived colony-stimulating factor 1 (CSF1). GDF15 acts via the central nervous system to enhance β-adrenergic signaling in the tumor …

Cmsi Translations #26: Sea Dragon Refits Its Armor: The Type 076 Amphibious Assault Ship Ushers In A New Era, He Yin

CMSI Translations

At the close of 2024, the first of China's next-generation Type 076 amphibious assault ships was launched at Hudong-Zhonghua Shipyard in Shanghai. Named the People's Liberation Army Navy (PLAN) Sichuan with hull number 51, this milestone concluded the PLAN's major combat equipment development for the year.

China’s navy only began to develop and construct modern amphibious assault ships around 2017. While the first generation of Type 075 ships (an initial batch of four vessels) was still being rapidly constructed, work commenced on the second-generation Type 076 in less than six years. This demonstrated the Chinese navy's urgent need for large-scale …

A Pilot Study Evaluating Child Resistant Closures In Pharmaceuticals In The Developing Nation Of Ghana: Informing Global Paediatric Safety And Usability Standards, Samuel Ofosu, Kojo Agyapong Afrifah, Laura Bix

Journal of Applied Packaging Research

Despite their proven effectiveness in preventing unintentional paediatric medication poisoning in high-income countries, the performance and usability of Child Resistant Closures (CRCs) remain underexplored in low and middle-income countries (LMICs).

To provide pilot data regarding the potential efficacy of using CRCs in LMICs, we conducted a study of the approach in a low-resourced region (Ghana, West Africa) by adapting testing protocols utilized in the United States (16 CFR Part 1700.20). The study utilized a convenience sample of children (n=50; 42-51 months) and adults (n=50; 50-70 years) to develop preliminary data related to the efficacy of a single design of CRC …

Style-Preserved Inference Flow (Spif): Real-Time Style-Locked Image Generation Through Model Pruning And Latent Space Optimization, Douglass W. Sharp Feb 2026

Style-Preserved Inference Flow (Spif): Real-Time Style-Locked Image Generation Through Model Pruning And Latent Space Optimization, Douglass W. Sharp

Defensive Publications Series

This publication discloses Style-Preserved Inference Flow (SPIF), a system for real-time style-locked image generation that maintains consistent artistic style across frames at interactive rates. The core innovation is structural model pruning guided by style-consistency metrics rather than general image quality, producing compact single-purpose models that generate images in a specific artistic style at 60+ frames per second. Additional disclosed techniques include latent-space frame coherence (bootstrapping sequential frames from previous latent states, analogous to dirty-rectangle optimization in game rendering), composable latent object descriptors for real-time scene manipulation, and voice-driven continuous generation loops. Working prototypes demonstrate 3.35 FPS full-pipeline generation at 1024×1024 …

A Stateful, Hypothesis-Driven Framework For Long-Context Root Cause Discovery In Telemetry Analysis, Aakash Phoughat Feb 2026

A Stateful, Hypothesis-Driven Framework For Long-Context Root Cause Discovery In Telemetry Analysis, Aakash Phoughat

Defensive Publications Series

This disclosure describes techniques that leverage a large language model (LLM) to perform root cause analysis (RCA) on high-volume telemetry data. The techniques can handle datasets whose size exceeds the context window of the LLM by traversing the data using a stateful log-walker that recursively passes an investigation state between LLM inference calls. A vector search is executed to retrieve a domain-specific structured graph of expected state transitions. The log stream is ingested in sequential blocks. A mutable investigation state which is a structured object that tracks the validation status of the steps of the schema is maintained. The object …

Physical Design With Diagonal Cut Floorplan To Resolve Routing Congestion Hotspots, Sachin Ramrao Waghmare Feb 2026

Physical Design With Diagonal Cut Floorplan To Resolve Routing Congestion Hotspots, Sachin Ramrao Waghmare

Defensive Publications Series

In VLSI physical design, a Hard Macro (HM) instantiation with a vertical and horizontal cut can often intrude into the logic placement area. Typically, all routing layers are blocked in HMs. As a result, any nets passing through the area face a routing resource crunch that can cause routing congestion and design rule check (DRC) failures. This disclosure describes techniques for creating an HM instantiation during the PD phase of a digital design with a diagonal cut. The HM instantiation is cut using small notches formed by short vertical and horizontal cuts, which cumulatively provide a cut that is effectively …

Quantitative Importance Attribution For Source Documents In Generative Models, N/A Feb 2026

Quantitative Importance Attribution For Source Documents In Generative Models, N/A

Defensive Publications Series

Generative models that utilize external information sources may not include mechanisms to quantitatively measure the contribution of each source document to a generated output. Disclosed are systems and methods for quantitatively attributing source importance. A technique can involve calculating numerical importance scores for constituent parts of a model's output, for instance, by analyzing internal model attention scores or semantic similarity to a user prompt. A remapping process then can trace these scored parts back to their original source documents to assign an overall importance score to each source. This quantitative attribution data can provide a basis for feedback mechanisms for …
