An Optimal Control Method Of Icestorage Air Conditioning Based On Sequential Reduction In Direct Cooling Cost, Yongjun Zhang, Qilin Li, Jianang Huang

Journal of Electric Power Science and Technology

Among optimal control methods of icestorage air conditioning, control methods based on intelligent optimization algorithms are complicated to solve and lack of feasibility, and common engineering control methods are of poor economic benefit. Journal of Electric Power Science and Technology

Datadriven abnormal electricity usage detection generally classifies or clusters user electricity usage behavior according to the set characteristic index items to identify electricity usage anomalies. Affected by the diversity of electricity usage behaviors in different sectors, there is often a problem of high false alarm rate in practical applications. Utilizing the characteristics of similar electricity usage behaviors of users in similar subindustry, this paper proposes a method that refines characteristic index items to detect abnormal electricity usage based on industryspecific electricity usage characteristics. Based on the actual load data of the users of the street lamp, firstly the load composition …

Focusing on the analysis of two types of loads, electric vehicles and air conditioning, this paper constructs a multiobjective load optimization dispatch model with the lowest electricity cost and the smallest difference between community load peaks and valleys under the satisfaction of user comfort level. For the resident inverter air conditioning …

Midlong term contract energy transaction is the main form of transaction in the early stage of new round electricity reform. Due to the uncertainty of wind power, midlong term contract energy decomposition faces enormous challenges. To solve this problem, a midlong term contract energy decomposition algorithm considering the uncertainty of wind power is proposed. An optimization model for a dayahead energy decomposition with minimum generation costs, power offsets, and carbon emissions is established and transformed into a singleobjective model through a normalized weighting method. Then the issue of the deviation between the actual energy generation and the planned energy is …

Journal of Electric Power Science and Technology

The hydrophobic detection of composite insulators is an important means to ensure the safe and reliable op-eration of insulators. The effective elimination of noise from hydrophobic images is an important prerequisite for accu-rately extracting the edge of water droplets and realizing the hydrophobic identification of insulators. The guiding fil-tering algorithm is widely applied in the field of image processing because of its intuitive principle, low computationalcomplexity and its ability to effectively overcome the gradient inversion problem by the guiding image filtering. In thiscontext, the principle of guided filtering is analyzed firstly. Then, it is introduced into the denoising process of …

A Model Of Occupational Licensing And Statistical Discrimination, Peter Q. Blair, Bobby W. Chung Aug 2021

A Model Of Occupational Licensing And Statistical Discrimination, Peter Q. Blair, Bobby W. Chung

Upjohn Institute Working Papers

We develop a model of statistical discrimination in occupational licensing. In the model, there is endogenous occupation selection and wage determination that depends on how costly it is to obtain the license and the productivity of the human capital that is bundled with the license. Under these assumptions, we find a unique equilibrium with sharp comparative statics for the licensing premiums. The key theoretical result in this paper is that the licensing premium is higher for workers who are members of demographic groups that face a higher cost of licensing. The intuition for this result is that the higher cost …

Multi-scale calcium (Ca2+) dynamics, exhibiting wide-ranging temporal kinetics, constitutes a ubiquitous mode of signal transduction. We report a novel endoplasmic-reticulum (ER)-targeted Ca2+ indicator, R-CatchER, which showed superior kinetics in vitro (koff≥2×103 s−1, kon≥7×106 M−1 s−1) and in multiple cell types. R-CatchER captured spatiotemporal ER Ca2+ dynamics in neurons and hotspots at dendritic branchpoints, enabled the first report of ER Ca2+ oscillations mediated by calcium sensing receptors (CaSRs), and revealed ER Ca2+-based functional cooperativity of CaSR. We elucidate the mechanism of R-CatchER and propose a principle to rationally design genetically encoded Ca2+ indicators with a single Ca2+-binding site …

Development of the Canadian Wetland Inventory Map (CWIM) has thus far proceeded over two generations, reporting the extent and location of bog, fen, swamp, marsh, and water wetlands across the country with increasing accuracy. Each generation of this training inventory has improved the previous results by including additional reference wetland data and focusing on processing at the scale of ecozone, which represent ecologically distinct regions of Canada. The first and second generations attained relatively highly accurate results with an average approaching 86% though some overestimated wetland extents, particularly of the swamp class. The current research represents a third refinement of …

School of Engineering, Computing and Mathematics

Magnetic control systems of micro-robots have recently blossomed as one of the most thrilling areas in the field of medical treatment. For the sake of learning how to apply relevant technologies in medical services, we systematically review pioneering works published in the past and divide magnetic control systems into three categories: stationary electromagnet control systems, permanent magnet control systems and mobile electromagnet control systems. Based on this, we ulteriorly analyze and illustrate their respective strengths and weaknesses. Furthermore, aiming at surmounting the instability of magnetic control system, we utilize SolidWorks2020 software to partially modify the SAMM system to make its …

Singlet Fission In Acene Blends, Katharina Broch, Clemens Zeiser, Chad Cruz, Luca Moretti, Margherita Maiuri, Eric Chronister, David Reichman, Roel Tempelaar, Giulio Cerullo, Christopher Bardeen

Chemistry and Biochemistry Faculty Research

Singlet fission (SF), the photophysical process converting an excited singlet exciton into two triplet excitons, is a promising approach to boost solar cell efficiencies. It is controlled by various parameters such as intermolecular interactions, energetics, entropy and vibronic coupling and a controlled modification of these parameters is key to a fundamental understanding. Blends of organic semiconductors present an interesting alternative to established methods of chemical functionalization and their potential for the study of SF pathways will be discussed using acene blends as example. Mixed thin films of SF chromophores and weakly interacting, high-bandgap spacer molecules allow one to study the …
