Autobackdoor: Automating Backdoor Attacks Via Llm Agents, Yige Li, Zhe Li, Wei Zhao, Nay Myat Min, Hanxun Huang, Xingjun Ma, Jun Sun

Research Collection School Of Computing and Information Systems

Backdoor attacks pose a serious threat to the secure deployment of large language models (LLMs), enabling adversaries to implant hidden behaviors triggered by specific inputs. However, existing methods often rely on manually crafted triggers and static data pipelines, which are rigid, labor-intensive, and inadequate for systematically evaluating modern defense robustness. As AI agents become increasingly capable, there is a growing need for more rigorous, diverse, and scalable \textit{red-teaming frameworks} that can realistically simulate backdoor threats and assess model resilience under adversarial conditions. In this work, we introduce \textsc{AutoBackdoor}, a general framework for automating backdoor injection, encompassing trigger generation, poisoned data …

Literary Colonization And Locating Avenues Of Subversion In Bobby Flores-Villasis' Suite Bergamasque, Michael Aaron C. Gomez

Akda: The Asian Journal of Literature, Culture, Performance

This paper examines four short stories included in the collection titled Suite Bergamasque, written by multi-awarded Negrense playwright and fictionist Bobby Flores-Villasis. A materialist reading situates Villasis within the canon of Philippine literature in English and analyzes the way his stories formally render the class antagonisms of history through the interconnected narratives of Dumaguete City’s sugar elite. Finally, this paper also contends that the political imagination of Villasis’ work exhorts contemporary Dumaguete writers to critically examine inherited hagiographies in order to describe fully the conditions that have shaped the city into its contemporary formation, particularly the phenomena of gentrification …

Cavitation-Aware Design Of Hydrofoil Sections For Marine Propeller Blade Development, Samuel G. Bacon Apr 2026

Cavitation-Aware Design Of Hydrofoil Sections For Marine Propeller Blade Development, Samuel G. Bacon

Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering Theses & Dissertations

Cavitation is a major design constraint for marine propeller blade sections because it can reduce hydrodynamic performance, increase vibration and noise, and contribute to surface damage. This thesis develops and applies an exploratory computational framework for cavitation-aware hydrofoil-section design relevant to marine propeller blade development. The framework combines section-level CFD validation, CST-based geometry parameterization, pressure-based pre-screening, matched-load comparison, and focused predicted inception envelope or cavitation-bucket analysis.

The CFD methodology was validated against published YS-920 hydrofoil water-tunnel data using selected fully wetted, near-inception, and cavitating reference cases. The validation results showed that the adopted framework reproduced the key experimental trends needed …

Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering Theses & Dissertations

This dissertation investigated AISI 1020 low-carbon steel as an alternative vacuum chamber material to conventional stainless steel for ultra-high vacuum (UHV) and extreme-high vacuum (XHV) applications. After a 400 °C/48 h bake, AISI 1020 tube chambers achieved a hydrogen outgassing rate of 2.4 × 10⁻¹⁶ Torr·L·s⁻¹·cm⁻², approximately 2,300 times lower than the prebaked 316L stainless-steel comparator, among the lowest hydrogen outgassing rates ever reported for an uncoated metallic vacuum chamber. Bare and magnetite-coated AISI 1020 chambers were then compared using throughput and rate-of-rise methods. The magnetite coating yielded 5× lower water outgassing at room temperature, but this advantage disappeared after …

A Patient-Centric Chatbot For Improving Clinical Trial Accessibility, Yumeng Yang Apr 2026

A Patient-Centric Chatbot For Improving Clinical Trial Accessibility, Yumeng Yang

Dissertations and Theses (Open Access)

Clinical trial enrollment remains a major challenge, and low accrual continues to delay study completion, increase research costs, and slow the development of new therapies. A barrier is the scale of the trial-matching problem: patients and clinicians must search through a large and growing number of studies, while each trial contains complex eligibility criteria that may overlap only partially with other trials. Although public registries such as ClinicalTrials.gov make trial information available, they do not adequately help patients identify which studies are most relevant to their clinical profile. This dissertation addresses that information problem by developing and evaluating a patient-centric …

Graph And Language Models For Biomedical Inference Across Networks And Text, Evan Yu Apr 2026

Graph And Language Models For Biomedical Inference Across Networks And Text, Evan Yu

Dissertations and Theses (Open Access)

Biomedical research increasingly relies on large and heterogeneous data sources to support scientific inference. However, relevant evidence is often distributed across environments that differ substantially in structure, reliability, and scale. Biomedical evidence may be represented in relational networks that encode interactions among entities and in large-scale text corpora that contain unstructured knowledge and discourse. Developing computational approaches capable of extracting reliable and interpretable signals from these diverse data environments remains a central challenge. This dissertation investigates how graph and language models can support robust biomedical inference across three evidence environments: relational epidemiologic networks, large-scale social media discourse, and biomedical scientific …

Selective Flexibility: The Hidden Evolution Of Startup Corporate Law, Alvaro Pereira Apr 2026

Selective Flexibility: The Hidden Evolution Of Startup Corporate Law, Alvaro Pereira

Cardozo Law Review

This Article challenges the longstanding assumption that corporate law is largely irrelevant to non-listed companies and venture capital ( “VC”). Through a novel cross-country legal index covering twenty years and twelve jurisdictions, this Article shows that corporate laws have evolved through a process of “selective flexibility,” where certain legal barriers to VC deals are lifted, while others are stealthily preserved. For example, numerous reforms have enabled multiple-vote shares, but few have authorized the customization of board powers, limiting the universe of founder-investor agreements—and, ultimately, the development of startup ecosystems and VC markets.

Drawing on a comprehensive dataset of billion -dollar …

M-Scor Uas: Characterizing Cartel Drone Supply Chains, Austin C. Doctor, Joel Elson, George Grispos, Suat Cubukcu, Reece Kelly, Tyler Mccoid, Lauren Bertelsen

Reports, Projects, and Research

In 2025, the U.S. Government designated six Mexico-based cartels as foreign terrorist organizations and specially designated global terrorists. Cartel-associated drone encounters at the Southern border have grown sharply in frequency and sophistication, while in the Mexican interior a growing number of cartels are weaponizing drones against rivals, civilians, and security forces. U.S. defense and law enforcement leaders have linked these platforms to reconnaissance, smuggling, and kinetic operations that may threaten U.S. personnel, communities, and critical infrastructure. Addressing this trend requires expanding beyond tactical counter-UAS responses (detect and defeat) toward upstream interventions that characterize and disrupt the supply chains producing operational …

Background: Glyphosate, the nominal active ingredient in professional-grade Roundup weed and grass killer, is the most extensively used herbicide globally and in the United States (U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, 2020). An increasing level of concern has surfaced regarding its health consequences, particularly because of contamination of our food supplies. Recent research indicates distressing levels of detection of glyphosate in human blood and urine samples, revealing many instances of frequent human exposure (Conrad et al., 2017; Zhang et al., 2020).Most of the research about exposure is focused on agricultural workers or individuals living in close vicinity to agricultural lands.  Few …

A "Net Metering" Approach To Energize Journalism Powered By Accessible Government Records, Frank D. Lamonte Apr 2026

A "Net Metering" Approach To Energize Journalism Powered By Accessible Government Records, Frank D. Lamonte

University of Richmond Law Review

Government records are fuel for the engine of investigative reporting. Using documents obtained through freedom-of-information requests, journalists regularly expose waste, mismanagement, and corruption across every level of government, from Cabinet-level federal agencies to the tiniest local police department. The Supreme Court of the United States has recognized the foundational role of accessible government documents “to ensure an informed citizenry, vital to the functioning of a democratic society, needed to check against corruption and to hold the governors accountable to the governed.” But records are notoriously challenging to obtain. Government agencies take advantage of every available loophole—and lobby legislators to create …

Birthdate Phaseout To A Nicotine Free Generation, Katharine Silbaugh

University of Richmond Law Review

This Article explores the Nicotine Free Generation (“NFG”) policy, an emerging endgame strategy for tobacco products that employs a completely novel legal design. Tobacco remains the leading cause of preventable death, killing almost half of its users and imposing $600 billion in social costs each year. We see two basic choices for regulating sales: prohibition or a legal age-gate, such as twenty-one, for retail sales. NFG charts a third way. Recognizing the dire harm of tobacco and the serious consequences of abrupt prohibition, NFG lays the groundwork for a gradual transition to a sales sunset. In place of the twenty-one …

Ex Post Transparency: Shattering The One-Way Mirror, Ruifeng Song Apr 2026

Ex Post Transparency: Shattering The One-Way Mirror, Ruifeng Song

University of Richmond Law Review

The digital world is becoming a one-way mirror: tech companies gain unprecedented knowledge of individuals who remain ignorant of how companies handle their data. Tech giants have been able to discreetly train their artificial intelligence models on vast troves of personal data, raising privacy concerns. This shows that we have yet to fully learn the lessons of the Cambridge Analytica scandal, where the infamous company misused the personal data of millions of people until the misdeeds were revealed by whistleblowers. A largely overlooked aspect of the scandal is that the law failed to enable timely detection of anomalies because data …
