Circulation Sports: A Category That Already Had Members And No Name — Classifying Keep-Up Circle Games, Cooperative Ball Games And Sports Warm-Up Drills By Scoring Unit, Guaranteed Equal Participation And No Individual Statistics, Thon Ly
Defensive Publications Series
This study classifies cooperative and non-competitive ball games, keep-up circle games and sports warm-up drills by their scoring unit. Some sports score when an exchange ends; others score when it continues. A circulation sport is defined by three properties held as rules: it scores the completed pass rather than the termination; it guarantees that every participant receives the ball (by mandatory rotation, a called receiver or an all-must-touch rule); and it keeps no individual statistics. Below three participants a forward pass cannot be told from a return, a floor cited from work on generalized exchange and indirect reciprocity. A three-step …
Constituting An Artificial Person: Restraint As Constitution, And The Elemental Completeness Of An Aligned Mind — A Five-Register Ai Agent Architecture With Alignment Constraints As Constituents Of Agent Identity, A Counterfactual Removal Test For Corrigibility, And A Human Override That Never Reaches Zero, Thon Ly
Defensive Publications Series
We disclose an architecture for AI alignment and corrigibility in which the constraints that make an AI agent safe are specified as constituents of the agent's identity rather than as external constraints on an optimizer. The agent is modelled as four functional registers (a value substrate; binding to the people it serves; active practice; communicative reach) bound into one agent by an integrating register that is neither a further module nor a central observer, on the pattern of global-workspace integration. A completeness check tests a proposed agent for coverage across the registers rather than for capabilities, so a system passing …

A Replay-Based Big Data Framework For Predictive Maintenance In Industrial Iot, Muhammad Asad, Yaser Alhasawi, Salem Alghamdi, Dana Sami Bakry, Abderahman Rejeb
School of Engineering, Computing and Mathematics
The rapid growth of Industrial IoT (IIoT) has led to large volumes of sensor data, increasing the need for scalable and data-driven maintenance solutions. This paper presents a replay-based streaming framework for predictive maintenance that integrates Apache Kafka for data ingestion, Apache Spark Streaming for distributed processing, and an LSTM-based model for fault prediction. The NASA CMAPSS FD001 dataset is used in a controlled streaming simulation to evaluate the feasibility of processing multivariate degradation data under different workload levels. To reduce data leakage, engine units are split before sliding-window sequence construction. Experimental results show that the LSTM model achieves 90.4% …

The Colorado River Upper Initial Units Take Center Stage, Eric Kuhn, Anne Castle, Jack Schmidt, Kathryn Sorensen, Katherine Tara
The Traveling Wilburys of the Colorado River
In 1956, Congress authorized the Upper Initial Units—Flaming Gorge Reservoir,
Navajo Reservoir, and the Aspinall Unit (UIUs)—for a variety of water use
purposes in the Upper Colorado River Basin, including compliance with the
1922 Colorado River Compact (1922 Compact). The historical record is clear
that the primary reason these reservoirs exist is to satisfy the math of the 1922
Compact and the obligations it imposed on the Upper Division States
regarding flows at Lee Ferry.

Technical Disclosure Specification: Systemic Scale-Invariance And Architectural Metrics Of The Jovian Enclave As A Closed-Loop Failed Solar System (Spec 174), Christopher L. Eckes
Defensive Publications Series
This technical specification establishes the structural, gravitational, and non-equilibrium thermodynamic parameters defining the Jovian system not as an isolated planetary body, but as a fully realized, un-ignited, closed-loop Failed Solar System. Moving away from traditional astronomical classification paradigms that treat satellite moons as passive anomalies, this disclosure formalizes the Jovian enclave as a local mass-accretion engine that mirrors primary solar-planetary architectures with 90% structural fidelity.
Crucially, this paper incorporates recent core-dynamics findings by modeling Jupiter's 50%-radius dilute, "fuzzy" core not as a static impact relic, but as an active, steady-state thermodynamic dissolution zone where metallic hydrogen serves as an aggressive, …

Systems Engineering Integration Architecture: Mission Architecture For Indefinite Surface Operations In Supercritical Venusian Environments (Tectonex-V), Christopher L. Eckes
Defensive Publications Series
This technical specification details the structural integration, multi-phase fluidic control models, and material deployment parameters for the TECTONEX-V planetary lander architecture, engineered exclusively for long-duration operations on the surface of Venus. Moving away from passive, mass-based pressure hulls that succumb to rapid thermal soak and structural collapse, the TECTONEX-V synthesizes an active non-equilibrium thermodynamic shell.
By integrating a monolithic Eckesonium(TM) (iMHEA) structural backbone with automotive magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) power harvesting, transpiration cooling systems, and non-refractive torsional wave telemetries, the lander converts the intense 9.5 MPa atmospheric pressure and 745 K thermal load of Venus into stabilizing structural inputs. This complete system …

A network node defers installation of a newly computed forwarding entry for a hold interval sized at run time from measurements the node takes of its own routing domain, rather than from a value configured in advance. Traffic rides a precomputed alternate entry during the hold. The node tracks the per-hop propagation latency of control-plane updates, the time to compute and install a forwarding state, and the hop extent of the domain, as running statistics. It then sums an estimated propagation time across the domain, an estimated worst-case remote computation time, and a programming allowance, then bounds the result. A …

Surfactant Physicochemical Properties Produce Divergent Inactivation Mechanisms For Enveloped Viruses, Caryn L. Heldt
Surfactant Physicochemical Properties Produce Divergent Inactivation Mechanisms For Enveloped Viruses, Caryn L. Heldt
Michigan Tech Research Data
Environmentally sustainable surfactants offer an opportunity to improve viral safety strategies in biotherapeutic manufacturing while reducing reliance on conventional detergents such as Triton X-100. However, selecting among these alternatives requires a mechanistic understanding of how surfactant physicochemical properties influence viral inactivation. In this study, eco-friendly zwitterionic amine oxides and nonionic glucosides were evaluated as potential viral inactivation surfactants using three enveloped virus models: Suid herpesvirus, herpes simplex virus, and xenotropic murine leukemia virus. By combining infectivity assays with biophysical characterization, we examined how surfactant class, alkyl chain length, headgroup chemistry, and concentration relative to the critical micelle concentration influenced both …

Integrating Gis With Interim Payment Valuation In Road Construction Projects: A Conceptual Framework, Abdulrahman I. Iro, Juma M. Matindana, Julian Ijumulana
Tanzania Journal of Engineering and Technology (TJET)
Abstract
Interim Payment Valuation is a critical process in road construction contract administration, yet conventional valuation practices remain heavily dependent on manual measurements, fragmented documentation, spreadsheets, and professional judgement. These limitations can affect measurement accuracy, transparency, traceability, and the timeliness of payment certification. Although Geographic Information Systems have increasingly been applied to construction planning, quantity measurement, progress monitoring, infrastructure management, and decision support, their integration with contractual and financial processes for interim payment valuation remains insufficiently explored. This study therefore develops a conceptual framework for integrating GIS with Interim Payment Valuation in road construction projects. A PRISMA-guided structured literature review …

Cgp Process Effects On The Microstructure Evolution, Mechanical Properties And Corrosion Behavior Of Al Alloys: A Review Study, Adel H. Al-Asafi, Vali Alimirzaloo, Amir Musa Abazari, Amin Seyyed Nosrati, Hurieh Mohammadzadeh
Babylonian Journal of Mechanical Engineering
Constrained groove pressing (CGP) is a prominent severe plastic deformation (SPD) method, favored over other SPD techniques due to its ability to induce high strains, its cost-effectiveness, and the lack of a need for advanced tooling or equipment. This paper presents the first comprehensive, simultaneous analysis of the fundamentals, influential parameters, corrosion and mechanical properties, and microstructural evolution of aluminum (Al) alloys processed via CGP. Overall, the study results demonstrated that the yield strength of various Al alloys increased several-fold during the initial CGP passes, while elongation decreased by 50% to 75%. Failure behavior in CGP-processed aluminum samples depends on …

Funding And Financing Mechanisms For Decarbonization At Higher Education Institutions, Emma Coopersmith, Dimitra Prassa, Alexander R. Barron
Environmental Science and Policy: Faculty Publications
A growing number of higher education institutions (HEIs) are decarbonizing their campuses, with thermal energy networks supported by ground-source-heat pumps (GSHPs) as the most common approach (Barron et al., 2025). The value proposition of these systems includes net savings on energy and maintenance, increasing occupant comfort, reducing air pollution and addressing deferred maintenance, guarding against future regulatory risk, providing education and research opportunities, and helping institutions meet climate goals. Despite the many benefits of decarbonization, funding and financing pose a significant challenge given the high upfront costs for GSHPs and building retrofits. “How will we pay for this?” is likely …

Energy-Efficient Routing Protocols In Wireless Sensor Networks For Iot Applications: A Machine Learning Approach Using Xgbm And Color Harmony Algorithm, Subhieh El-Salhi, Bashar Igried, Sari Awwad
Mesopotamian Journal of CyberSecurity
Energy efficiency is a central constraint in wireless sensor networks (WSNs) used for Internet of Things (IoT) applications because sensor nodes have limited batteries, processing capacity, and communication bandwidth. This study combines eXtreme Gradient Boosting (XGBM) with the Color Harmony Algorithm (CHA) to predict energy-efficient paths and optimize model and routing parameters. The analysis uses 58,847 validated network-event records generated with NS-3 and a custom Python simulator; the Intel Berkeley Research Lab sensor trace was used only as an external range check. In a 50-run simulated evaluation, the proposed configuration showed an 18% reduction in energy consumption, a 22% increase …

How Wisconsin Extension Educators Talk About Climate Change Without Talking About ``Climate Change'', Sky Hershberger, Todd P. Newman
How Wisconsin Extension Educators Talk About Climate Change Without Talking About ``Climate Change'', Sky Hershberger, Todd P. Newman
Journal of Extension
Climate change touches all areas of Extension's programming. To understand how educators approach talking about climate change with constituents, we interviewed 15 Extension educators and three program managers in Wisconsin. Crops and Soils educators view climate change as interwoven with their work, Financial Education educators view it as mostly disconnected, and Community Economic Development educators range between these extremes. Educators in all three programs avoid the polarizing phrase ``climate change,'' instead focusing on specific, local, and relatable issues. Educators show empathy and emphasize resilience (adaptation) rather than mitigation. These findings can inform Extension's organizational strategy on climate change.

Enhancing Brachial Plexus Education Through An Interactive, Coded Three-Dimensional Learning Model, Ambika Siddabathula, Erick Moberg, Ph.D
DO Research Day
The brachial plexus presents a persistent instructional challenge in anatomy education because students must integrate its branching organization with its three-dimensional relationships to surrounding structures.[1,2] Understanding the plexus requires learners to trace neural contributions through roots, trunks, divisions, cords, and terminal branches while recognizing their spatial relationships to the axillary artery.[2] Conventional diagrams can clarify connections between named structures, but translating these schematics into an anatomically coherent spatial representation remains a recognized teaching challenge.[1,2] These difficulties occur within a broader pattern of challenges in learning neuroanatomy. In a national survey of 2,877 medical students across 25 UK medical schools, respondents …
