Although Infant-directed speech (IDS) involves modifications of speech to facilitate child’s language acquisition, this area of research needs more evidence on the maintenance of segmental contrasts. Drawing on a longitudinal corpus of conversation recordings of a Lebanese mother and her young son over eight months at Newcastle University, this acoustic study examined IDS with a focus on Lebanese Arabic (LA). It analyzed single and double coronal consonants (C) in two-and three-syllable trochaic words with short vowels (V). The government of Tanzania is currently developing a Blue Economy (BE) policy for mainland Tanzania. However, it remains unclear how marine artisanal fisheries can contribute to, and support the implementation of, this emerging economic initiative. Drawing on in-depth key informant interviews, a review of relevant documents, and an analysis of nine years (2011—2019) fisheries data, this study examines the potential contribution of fish catch, revenue, and employment to the BE. The findings showed a significant (20.5%) increase in the number of fishing vessels between 2011 and 2019, together with a notable 52% rise in fish catches between 2018 and 2019. …

This qualitative-dominant mixed methods study investigates how Georgia’s Dual Language Immersion (DLI) teachers interpret and implement state literacy mandates, specifically House Bill 307 (HB 307). The research addresses a critical gap in policy-to-practice understanding, as current structured literacy requirements are primarily grounded in monolingual English frameworks that often overlook the instructional realities of bilingual classrooms. The study is theoretically anchored in Translanguaging Pedagogy, Sociocultural Theory, and Teacher Agency Theory.

These two parameters are typically determined through inversion using temperature data since they are difficult to measure directly. Background: This study aims to examine the relationship between organizational governance capacity (OGC) and organizational resilience (OR) in hospitals, with a focus on cross-institutional differences.

Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted among 1,143 employees from six hospital types in Istanbul, including university, Ministry of Health (state, training and research, and city), and private hospitals. Validated scales were used to measure OGC and OR. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, nonparametric tests, and structural equation modeling (SEM) to assess the relationships between these dimensions.

This disclosure describes an electromagnetic traction motor architecture that mimics the distributed, modular torque production of biological motors (e.g., flagellar motors). The system utilizes a stator divided into independently energizable sectors (circumferential or axial). A supervisory controller dynamically “recruits” or “de-recruits” these sectors based on real-time torque demand, efficiency maps, and thermal headroom. This architecture enables improved part-load efficiency, 800V+ operation with reduced I²R losses, and “limp-home” fault tolerance by isolating degraded sectors without shutting down the entire machine.

A hybrid cryptographic encoding system is disclosed in which plaintext is encrypted using AES256-GCM keyed via an X25519 ephemeral-static Diffie-Hellman key agreement, optionally protected at rest by a Shamir K-of-N secret-sharing scheme whose shares are individually gated by biometric fuzzy extractors, and the resulting authenticated ciphertext is rendered through a pluggable steganographic output layer (key-permuted Morse, Base64, or linguistic steganography).
