Recent advancements in pediatric surgery have embraced telehealth (TH) modalities, transitioning from traditional in-person consultations to virtual care. This shift has broadened access to healthcare, potentially enhancing affordability, patient and caregiver satisfaction, and clinical outcomes. In pediatric colorectal surgery, telehealth has been effectively utilized to support Bowel Management Programs (BMPs) for children suffering from constipation and fecal incontinence. A systematic review was conducted to assess the effectiveness of virtual BMPs, analyzing studies from January 2010 to December 2023, sourced from MEDLINE (via PubMed), Embase, and the Cochrane Library, with five studies included. The Nevada Court of Appeals determined that the District Court violated Christopher Deangelo Palmer’s Sixth Amendment right to a public trial by excluding his entire family from the courtroom during the complaining witness’s testimony without satisfying the four-factor test established in Waller v. Georgia. The Court found that the reasons provided for the partial closure, such as maintaining courtroom control, the misbehavior of Palmer’s brother, and Palmer’s recorded jail calls, did not constitute substantial reasons for the closure of the court. Since the Supreme Court declared the Professional and Amateur Sports Protection Act of 1992 unconstitutional in 2018, 38 states and the District of Columbia legalized face to face and/or on-line betting on sports. A potential unintended consequence of legalized sports betting is an increased risk for mental health disorders and problem gambling. Using a staggered difference-in differences framework, we exploit variation in timing of adoption of legal sports betting across states to evaluate the impact of these laws on mental health outcomes. Since the FDA approval of IL-2 in cancer treatment in the 1980s, immunotherapy has emerged as the standard of care for several tumor types (e.g., melanoma, lung, bladder, colorectal). However, approximately 70 percent of cancer patients, independent of prior treatment or staging, administered immunotherapy will not achieve complete responses and will exhibit disease progression. Several factors have been identified to contribute to treatment failure, including the accumulation of intratumoral immunosuppressive cell populations, insufficient tumor-infiltrating anti-tumor immune populations, or the occurrence of immunoediting on tumor cells. This dissertation examines the communicative constitution of authenticity and queerness. Because queerness has been policed and censored, notions of authenticity, in particular authentic queer representations, are fraught and sustaining to many LGBTQ+ and allied media consumers. The project focuses on the television series Supernatural—specifically, the unfolding of interactions in fan conventions, Twitter/X, and Tumblr involving celebrities and viewers of the series following a social breach, or rupture in the narrative. This study aimed to uplift and critically analyze the experiences and perspectives of Latine school psychology graduate students regarding their programs' socialization process. I sought to call out oppressive structures and to identify anti-racist practices described by participants. I intended for this to inform school psychology programs on oppressive structures they must dismantle and anti-racist practices that disrupt the status quo to support the well-being and success of Latine graduate students. This study examines pre-service teachers’ (PSTs) beliefs and understandings about computational thinking (CT) integration and lesson implementation over time. Utilizing a design-based research approach, 3 PSTs led the co-design of integrated CT lessons with support from researchers and enacted these CT integrated lessons with K-5 students. All PSTs participated in a whole-group CT workshop and engaged in one-on-one lesson design sessions with a researcher. We utilized a grounded theory approach to qualitatively analyze pre-surveys, semi-structured interviews, and video data of three PSTs enacting their lessons. This conceptual article underscores the critical need for tailored supervision for school counselors-in-training (SCITs), emphasizing challenges arising from differences in training, role ambiguity, and limited understanding of pK-12 educational contexts when overseen by doctoral supervisors with clinical mental health counseling (CMHC) backgrounds. We advocate for enhanced training and support for doctoral students from CMHC backgrounds to more effectively supervise SCITs. Bridging the gap between SCITs and counselor education doctoral training, we emphasize adjustments to supervision training and implications for the supervision of school counselor trainees.

The purpose of this article is to provide school counselor educators with strategies to effectively prepare school counselors to implement culturally responsive suicide intervention in their roles as educator-counselors. Informed by two theoretical models, The Attitudinal Components of Professional Development (Evans, 2002) and the Cultural Model of Suicide (Chu et al., 2010), the authors share strategies for building self-awareness, teaching about culturally responsive practices, using case studies, and delivering course-specific instruction in multiple classes: ethics, assessment, lifespan development, foundations of school counseling, and clinical courses. There are two types of empathy: affective and cognitive. Affective empathy from an emotionally charged situation enters the CNS of a person first and is followed by a cognitive empathic response. To understand why OTs are not involved with disaster management, this study explored perceived disaster management roles for healthcare professionals; the level of familiarity and professional experience with stages of disaster; and the relationship between training and likelihood of engagement.
