Stormwater ponds (SWPs) are engineered stormwater infrastructure known to be major greenhouse gas (GHG) emitters, including carbon dioxide (CO₂). Concrete-based materials have great potential to capture CO₂ as carbonate minerals (CaCO₃), through aqueous carbonation, driven by their alkaline nature and high portlandite (Ca(OH)₂) content. However, the mechanistic understanding of how specific parameters including mass, surface area, and degradation of calcium silicate hydrate (C-S-H) phases collectively control carbonation kinetics and CO₂ uptake under dynamically evolving conditions remains underexplored. This study examines how traditional and social medai shape public perception of U.S. Supreme Court decisions on Civil liberties, focusing on four landmark cases: Dobbs v. Jackson, District of Columbia v. Heller, Materpiece Cakeshop v. Colorado Civil Rights Commission, and Obergfell v. Hodges. Using Entmans framing theory, the research analyzes how tone, language, emphasis, and ideological slant differ across media platofrms and how these frames infleunce public attitudes, insitutional trust, and civic understanding. Muslim Americans are among the most underserved populations in mental health care in the United States. In the wake of the ongoing genocide in Gaza, many Muslim Americans have experienced intensified psychological distress, including anxiety, grief, and a heightened sense of helplessness, while continuing to show up in the streets in protest. This mixed-methods study examined whether the collective process of protest poster-making leads to emotional expression among Muslim American participants. This study explored whether creativity might help alleviate feelings of loneliness and social isolation. The COVID-19 pandemic was an extraordinary event that significantly impacted people's emotional, physical, psychological, and social health globally. To gain insight into these impacts, the research focused on participants’ creative activities and their experiences of loneliness during and after the pandemic. The aim was to find possible links between making and viewing art and reducing feelings of loneliness and loneliness-related experiences. Developers write logging statements to monitor software runtime behaviors and system state. However, poorly constructed or misleading log messages can inadvertently obfuscate actual program execution patterns, thereby impeding effective software maintenance. Existing research on analyzing issues within logging statements is limited, primarily focusing on detecting a singular type of defect and relying on manual intervention for fixes rather than automated solutions.To address the limitation, we initiate a systematic study that pinpoints four specific types of defects in logging statements (i.e., statement code inconsistency, static dynamic inconsistency, temporal relation inconsistency, and readability issues) through the analysis of real-world log-centric changes. Article I of the Constitution empowers Congress to “lay and collect Taxes, Duties, Imposts and Excises.” It is arguably Congress’s most important power. A government’s first task is to fund itself, and the absence of an enforceable funding mechanism under the Articles of Confederation was a primary reason for the Constitution in the first place. Yet scholarly and judicial attention has focused mostly on the term “taxes” (and specifically what constitutes a “direct tax” that must be apportioned) while largely overlooking the three terms that follow—the duties, imposts, and excises that are collectively known as the “indirect taxes.”

This study examined the relation between student conduct history and psychosocial characteristics, including university belongingness, perceived stress, and self-esteem, among undergraduate students at West Chester University. A total of 392 students ages 18–25 completed self-report measures via Qualtrics, including the University Belongingness Questionnaire (UBQ), the Perceived Stress Scale (PSS-14), and the Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale (RSES). Participants were recruited through the SONA system and in collaboration with the Office of Student Conduct to include students with and without a documented conduct record. Results from independent samples t-tests indicated that students with a conduct record reported significantly higher levels of university belongingness …

This thesis analyzes two novels: Inaam Kachachi’s Sawaqi al-Qulub (2005) and Shady Lewis’s ʿAla Khatt Grinitsh (2019), to understand the relationships between figures of migration, as the exile narrates his encounters with refugees. It uses Julia Kristeva’s Powers of Horror: An Essay on Abjection (1980) and Judith Butler’s Frames of War: When Is Life Grievable? Many professional organizations publish clinical practice guidelines for the use of probiotics in gastrointestinal disorders. Generally, no two guidelines align perfectly, and some differ markedly. These discrepancies occur because clinical practice guidelines are not purely mechanical outputs of data synthesis. They are shaped by structured interpretation, value judgments, and predefined thresholds for uncertainty. These elements become particularly visible when effect sizes are small, heterogeneity is high, and outcomes vary in clinical relevance-as is the case with probiotic research. This study first examines the components of mitigation and adaptation, and analyzes the mechanisms through which they interact. It then explores the fundamental principles underlying the synergy between mitigation and adaptation, and construct a corresponding analytical framework. Alzheimer's disease (AD) is characterized by the accumulation of amyloid-β (Aβ), a process thought to result from an imbalance between Aβ production and clearance. Autophagy, a major intracellular degradation pathway regulated by the mechanistic target of rapamycin (mTOR), has emerged as a potential therapeutic target for restoring Aβ homeostasis, although its precise role in Aβ metabolism remains unclear. This study investigated how pharmacological modulation of autophagy and mTOR signaling influences Aβ levels in both in vitro and in vivo models.

Maritime ship detection is of great significance for both military security and civilian applications. Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR), with its all-weather and all-day imaging capability, plays a vital role in maritime surveillance. Nevertheless, SAR ship targets typically appear small in scale, embedded in complex backgrounds, blurred at boundaries, and easily confused with near-shore features, which pose substantial challenges for accurate detection.
