This dissertation undertakes a critical analysis of the dynamic interplay between presidential power and constitutional accountability, foregrounding the interpretive authority of the Supreme Court and the underappreciated role of amicus curiae briefs. The purpose of this phenomenological study was to describe the lived experiences of Nigerian Christian clergy and persecution and insecurity in Nigeria using an online site. The central research question was: How do Nigerian Christian clergy describe their experiences in meeting the expectations of their congregants and communities amidst persecution and insecurity? Interviews were conducted to collect data from 10 participants and an analysis was performed. The results showed that Nigerian Christian clergy, under threats of fear, still meet the needs of their congregants, and that the congregants continue to seek support from their clergy. This dissertation investigates the nature of divine and human agency in the Apostle Paul’s theology of transformation, with particular attention to how Paul’s participatory soteriology is shaped by and diverges from Second Temple Jewish understandings of covenantal life. Hospital chaplains frequently encounter situations in which patients and families request sacramental or spiritually significant practices during moments of crisis, yet chaplains often lack structured training that addresses how to respond with both pastoral sensitivity and theological clarity within a multifaith healthcare environment.

This study investigates Reconstruction policies under Ulysses S. Grant in York County, South Carolina, an area affected by severe Ku Klux Klan violence in the early 1870s. It explores whether federal enforcement efforts effectively suppressed organized violence and brought stability to the region. This dissertation contends that Grant’s use of federal authority—especially through prosecutions and military action—substantially reduced Klan activity and led to a noticeable drop in violence by 1873, despite inconsistent implementation and limited long-term political stability. Helicopter parenting involves excessive over-involvement, overprotection, and autonomy restriction. Research suggests that helicopter parenting often leads to poor outcomes for emerging adults (18-25). This style of parenting is incongruent with the appropriate developmental stage of emerging adulthood, which prioritizes autonomy supportive parenting for more positive well-being outcomes. Literature on this phenomenon consists of a majority White female sample. This study is an examination of the relationship between well-being outcomes (depression, anxiety, and autonomy) for a diverse population of emerging adults who were helicopter parented. This dissertation argues that the Epistle of James presents faith as covenantal allegiance enacted through communal practices under social and theological pressure. While scholarship on James has frequently separated socio-historical analysis from theological interpretation, this study proposes an integrative reading through the Integrative Critical-Covenantal Method (ICCM). ICCM employs a three-step procedure comprising close textual analysis, text-triggered socio-historical diagnosis, and theological analysis, with integrated adjudication. The dissertation examines seven strategically selected “pressure texts” in James: 1:9–11; 1:27; 2:1–13; 2:14–26; 3:13–18; 4:1–10; and 5:1–6. Gaussian Process Implicit Surfaces (GPISes) provide a powerful and unified stochastic geometry representation for rendering surfaces, volumes, and the rich continuum between them. Recent work has shown that GPISes can model a broad space of visual appearances under a unified light transport framework. However, practical rendering with GPISes remains challenging: existing estimators can become inefficient for particular correlation structures, and highly anisotropic or heightfield-like GPISes require specialized treatment to obtain robust variance reduction.

This thesis examines Kant’s distinction between appearances and things in themselves within the framework of transcendental idealism, focusing on how this distinction is meant to secure objective validity while respecting the limits of possible experience. It critically evaluates two influential contemporary interpretations: Henry Allison’s epistemological reading, which understands the distinction as marking different ways of considering the same object, and Lucy Allais’s metaphysical reading, which attributes a grounding role to things in themselves. The thesis argues that while Allison’s reinterpretation successfully avoids noumenal causation by construing affection epistemically, it generates a structural epistemic circularity concerning the role of receptivity and …

Ewing sarcoma is an aggressive small round blue cell tumor most commonly arising from bone in children and adolescents. Primary renal Ewing sarcoma is exceedingly rare and is frequently misidentified as more common renal neoplasms. Although metastatic disease is present in 20–25% of cases at diagnosis, multifocal noncontiguous epidural spinal metastases causing acute cord compression are uncommon. This honors thesis examines the biochemical, ethical, and public health consequences of insufficient post-operative follow-up care for undocumented immigrants injured in border falls. Discussing pathways of inflammation resolution, wound healing, and bone remodeling, this thesis argues that recovery depends on tightly regulated molecular and cellular processes that are highly vulnerable to disruption without continued monitoring and rehabilitation (Loi et al., 2016; Maruyama et al., 2020).
