Evaluating The New Nd: Yag Laser Method In Phytosynthesizing Silver Nanoparticles And Assessing Their Medical Applications., Arshad Mahdi Hamad, Qanat Mahmood Atiya

Silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) were synthesized via an innovative green synthesis method using amygdalin (Am) as a reducing agent and the Nd: YAG laser as a catalyst. We studied the properties of the nanoparticles using X-ray diffraction (XRD), field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM), energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX), atomic force microscopy (AFM), ultraviolet-visible spectroscopy (UV), and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) techniques. All the results of the examination demonstrate excellent structural and optical properties. In addition, the molecular docking of the complex composed of amygdalin and AgNPs was tested on three proteins concerned with the virulence of Pseudomonas aeruginosa and …

What happens when people with power go unchecked, especially when that power is driven by desires and emotions? Is morality lost? What are the repercussions of tyranny? Kennesaw State University’s Department of Theatre and Performance Studies (TPS) will examine those questions as they present “Macbeth” running Feb. 13-23 at the Stillwell Theater. TPS Faculty and Director Marlon Andrew Burnley says that the play “explores the destructive power of ambition, the fragility of the human soul, and the consequences of choices made in pursuit of power.”

Nevada Supreme Court Summaries
The Nevada Court of Appeals held that, when considering domestic violence as part of a best interest factors analysis in a custody determination, the appropriate evidentiary standard is the default preponderance-of-the-evidence standard of family law—not the clear-and-convincing-evidence standard that is used for the domestic violence rebuttable presumption which may lead to the denial of a parent’s custody. Additionally, the Court held that district courts must provide a legal basis for appellate review when excluding trial court exhibits for timeliness, because such exclusions constitute sanctions that must meet the legal standards found in rules like NRCP 16.205(g) and NRCP 37(c).

According to the International Energy Agency, to achieve net zero emissions by 2050, global investment in clean energy must more than triple, reaching $4 trillion. More investments in technology for clean energy and infrastructure means more transactions across major industries. This inevitably translates to the potential for more disputes, including environmental concerns. Most energy related disputes are predicted to arise in the oil and gas sector, the power generation sector, and the offshore renewable sector. Tamoxifen is a cornerstone therapy for estrogen receptor-positive (ER+) breast cancer, improving survival and reducing recurrence. Its efficacy and toxicity, however, vary due to genetic polymorphisms influencing metabolism and transport. Key genes, such as CYP2D6, CYP3A4, and ATP-binding cassette transporters (ABCB1, ABCC2), are crucial in forming and distributing active metabolites like endoxifen. This review explores tamoxifen pharmacogenetics through an analysis of literature from PubMed, Scopus, Google Scholar, and PharmaGKB. Genetic variations like CYP2D6*10 in Asians and CYP2D6*17/29 in Africans impact therapeutic outcomes. The HIV/AIDS epidemic poses a significant public health challenge in Malawi, where women aged 15-49 years experience a higher HIV prevalence (10.8%) compared to men (7.0%). Despite free testing services, 17% of Malawian women have never been tested for HIV, hindering early diagnosis and treatment that could reduce transmission rates. Using Anderson's framework for health service utilization, this study examined how demographic factors (age, marital status, ethnicity, residence) and socioeconomic factors (education, wealth, employment) influence HIV testing among Malawian women aged 15-49 years. India’s Poverty Profile revealed that over 65% of the poor reside in rural areas. This study examined the effectiveness of the Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana (DDU-GKY) skill development program in alleviating poverty in Uttar Pradesh, India. Guided by Sen’s capability approach, a quantitative cross-sectional design employing logistic regression analyzed the relationships of candidate qualifications and trade categories, predicting the likelihood of successful job placement. The study analyzed 4,789 randomly selected cases from 14 high-poverty districts in DDU-GKY’s database. The job placement rate within cases was 28.2%, with 71.8% not placed. Background: Responding to HIV clusters detected using molecular data has been shown to reduce transmission and improve testing, treatment, and prevention. However, there are varied opinions about the use of cluster detection activities, and some advocates have raised concerns about patient consent, data security, and the potential for HIV criminalization. Incorporating the perspectives of marginalized populations that are disproportionately affected by HIV is essential to understanding the diversity of those perspectives, yet it is often overlooked in the literature. Access to quality healthcare is essential for the well-being of immigrant families, especially Afro-Caribbean immigrants in the Greater Tampa Bay area. Disparities in use and satisfaction with health services are known. Guided by Andersen’s healthcare utilization model, a quantitative cross-sectional design employing multiple linear regression analyzed the relationships between self-reported income, education, years since immigration, and health-seeking behaviors (IVs) and satisfaction with care, measured by the PSQ-18 (DV). This study involved 92 English-speaking Afro-Caribbean migrant families with minors residing in Hillsborough, Pasco, and Pinellas Counties. Two buildings were exposed. The northern building comprised rooms surrounding a central courtyard; the pottery finds from this building date from the Persian period, and chiefly, to the Hellenistic and Early Roman periods (first century BCE). Only two rooms survived of the southern building, which apparently opened to a courtyard. Many storage-jar sherds were found, seemingly in situ. On two of them, Aramaic letters were incised before firing. An Achaemenid-style conical glass seal was unearthed, depicting a hero or a ruler holding flanking lions. This building may have had an administrative or storage function. Three tombs were uncovered in proximity …

Thirty-nine samples of Persian-period wares were selected for analysis, and five petrographic groups were identified. The overwhelming majority of the assemblage was of non-local provenance. Several ranges of import were discerned, and it seems that the import-trade-exchange patterns at the site were oriented overseas or toward the Phoenician coast.
