Integrating Engineering Properties And Microstructural Behaviour In Lime-Stabilised Soils: A Review, Roslizayati Razali, Diana Che Lat, Hairol Anuar Haron, Siti Nur Aishah Mohd Noor, Nadia Zalikha Sailfullizam, Nur Syazwani Noor Rodi, Nor Azizah Che Azmi
Platform: A Journal of Engineering (PAJE)
Lime stabilisation is a widely used ground improvement technique for enhancing the engineering performance of problematic fine-grained soils. This review summarises recent studies on the mechanisms of lime stabilisation and their effect on the engineering properties and microstructural behaviour of stabilised soils. Lime treatment improves soil performance through cation exchange, flocculation, and pozzolanic reactions, resulting in the formation of cementitious compounds such as calcium silicate hydrate (CSH) and calcium aluminate hydrate (CAH). These reactions reduce plasticity and swelling while improving strength and durability. The review also discusses the influence of soil type, lime content, and curing period on the effectiveness …

Early Insights On Delivering Pride In Place, Katharine Willis, Kasper De Graaf
School of Art, Design and Architecture
This paper presents early-stage insights from a research study commissioned by Key Cities (KC) and carried out by the Key Cities Innovation Network (KCIN) in partnership with the Centre for Place at the University of Plymouth. The study examines the implementation and early delivery of the Government’s flagship Pride in Place (PiP) Programme across a representative sample of Phase 1 and Phase 2 neighbourhoods within the Key Cities network.Findings are drawn from interviews with Members of Parliament and local authority representatives in six selected PiP neighbourhoods. At the time of writing, fieldwork in five of the six case-study areas has …

Detection Of Uropathogenic Multidrug-Resistant Escherichia Coli And Klebsiella Pneumoniae Isolates In Some Immunocompromised Patients., Alaa Abd Atia, Manal Mohammed Kadhim
Al-Qadisiyah Medical Journal
Background: Multidrug-resistant E. coli and K. pneumoniae isolates are the most common causes of acquired urinary tract infections (UTIs). Objective: Conclude the prevalence of multidrug-resistant E. coli and K. pneumoniae isolates in urine samples from immunocompromised patients with UTIs. Methods: A total of 543 urine samples were collected from patients with supposed UTIs. MacConkey, chromogenic agar, and blood culture were used to cultivate the samples. Disk diffusion on Mueller-Hinton agar was used to select cultures that were positive for testing for antibiotic susceptibility. Excel and SPSS software were used to gather and analyze the data. Results: Of …
The Political And Legal Challenges Facing The International Criminal Court In Prosecuting Perpetrators Of International Crimes, Muhamad Abdulrahman Saleem Alshehri
The Political And Legal Challenges Facing The International Criminal Court In Prosecuting Perpetrators Of International Crimes, Muhamad Abdulrahman Saleem Alshehri
University of Tabuk Journal for Humanities and Social Sciences
This research examines، through analytical and critical study، the political and legal challenges that hinder the effective functioning of the International Criminal Court (ICC) since its establishment under the Rome Statute. Although the Court represents a milestone in the international community’s efforts to end impunity for the most serious crimes، the realities of international relations reveal a persistent gap between the idealism reflected in the Statute’s legal provisions and the practical limitations imposed by geopolitical interests and power dynamics. The study shows that the relationship between the ICC and the United Nations Security Council remains one of the most problematic …

Effective Leadership Styles In Enhancing School Happiness Among Teachers Of General Education Schools In Hafr Al-Batin Governorate (Qualitative Study Using Grounded Theory), Abdullah Bin Mohammed Al-Ameri
University of Tabuk Journal for Humanities and Social Sciences
The study aimed to identify effective leadership styles that enhance school happiness among male and female teachers in general education schools in Hafr Al-Batin Governorate, adopting a qualitative approach based on grounded theory. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews with a purposive sample of 45 teachers, ensuring diversity in educational stage and years of experience, during the first semester of the academic year 1447/2025. The data were analyzed using MAXQDA software following the procedures of open, axial, and selective coding. The findings identified six leadership styles positively associated with school happiness: fair leadership, communicative leadership, motivational leadership, empowering leadership, social …
Translanguaging Practices And Speaking Anxiety Among Saudi Efl University Students, Hatim Abdulhadi Masoudi
Translanguaging Practices And Speaking Anxiety Among Saudi Efl University Students, Hatim Abdulhadi Masoudi
University of Tabuk Journal for Humanities and Social Sciences
Foreign language learning anxiety remains a critical affective variable influencing learners’ performance in English as a foreign language (EFL) classrooms. This study examined the association between translanguaging as a pedagogical strategy and foreign language anxiety among Saudi university students. Adopting a quantitative descriptive-correlational design, data were collected from 200 undergraduate EFL students using a structured questionnaire. While the study design allowed for correlational analysis, the individual participant data required to compute a correlation coefficient between the primary constructs was not provided in the report. Descriptive analyses showed that students who reported greater exposure to translanguaging-based instruction also reported lower anxiety …
Career Planning Expectations Of Maritime Vocational Students: A Case Study From Iskenderun Technical University, Türkiye, Özkan Akar
Seatific Journal
This study investigates the post-graduation career planning preferences, influencing factors, and expectations of 138 students enrolled in maritime education programs at İskenderun Technical University in Türkiye, using a structured survey administered to students from the Maritime Technologies Vocational School to examine career intentions, sectoral awareness, salary expectations, and perceptions of institutional support. The collected data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and non-parametric tests (Mann-Whitney U and Kruskal-Wallis). The findings indicate that 41.3% of students reported no specific sector preference, while 26.1% preferred the public sector, 21.0% the private sector, and 11.6% were undecided.
