Evaluation Indicators Of L Ayer-Specific Structural Strength For Asphalt Pavement Based On Tsd Deflection Slope Parameters, Chen Jun, Yin Long, Ren Zhongshan, Mei W Enjie, Zhai Rui, Zhu Haoran
Journal of China & Foreign Highway
Traffic speed deflectometer (TSD) has been widely used in pavement maintenance, yet an indicator system for identifying layer-specific structural strength remains lacking. On the basis of a three-dimensional finite element model incorporating viscoelastic damage, this study analyzed how surface damage density and the modulus of the base and subbase affect deflection slope. Two layer-sensitive indicators of structural strength were proposed:S10 (deflection slope 10 cm ahead of the load center) for characterizing the surface layer, and S30 (deflection slope 30 cm ahead of the load center) for reflecting the structural strength of the base layer. Simulation results show that S10 is …

Influence Of Reflective Cracks On The Mesoscopic Mechanical Behavior Of Asphalt Pavement Structures, Ma Hui, Ren Zhongshan, Wang Min
Journal of China & Foreign Highway
To gain an in-depth understanding of the mechanical behavior of existing asphalt pavement structures affected by reflective cracks, a macro-meso coupled model of a typical semi-rigid base asphalt pavement was established based on a continuum-discrete coupling method. By incorporating reflective cracks with varying vertical lengths, the stress transfer paths, mesoscopic particle stress states, and displacement evolution of the pavement structure were analyzed. The results indicate that the coarse aggregate skeleton and the surrounding mortar collectively bear more than 75% of the traffic load, forming a critical load transfer system, and that a significant linear correlation exists between the vertical stress …

Turkish Journal of Agriculture and Forestry
This study identifies salt-tolerant durum wheat genotypes for breeding programmes by integrating phenotypic, genotypic, and computational analyses of 27 Mediterranean varieties. Cluster analysis and principal coordinate analysis (PCoA) revealed two distinct genetic groups: modern genotypes (high-yielding Tunisian/Italian cultivars) and ancient genotypes (traditional Tunisian landraces). Among tested cultivars, JnehKhottifa and Grécale exhibited exceptional salinity tolerance, maintaining >80% germination at 200 mM NaCl, while Om Rabiaa and Agili showed sensitivity (<50% germination). Bayesian network modelling was used to explore the probabilistic relationships between simple sequence repeat (SSR) markers (e.g., CFD40 and GWM182, PIC = 0.561) and important traits such as root length and germination rate under stress. Genetic diversity analysis (average PIC = 0.407) highlighted the potential of SSR markers for trait-marker associations. These findings establish a valuable platform for enhancing marker-assisted selection salt- tolerant durum wheat varieties, essential for securing yields in saline-prone Mediterranean regions.

Mesothelin (MSLN) is a tumor biomarker expressed at high levels on the surface of numerous cancers with extremely limited expression in healthy tissues. MSLN-targeting agents developed for diagnosis and therapy could have a significant impact on the management of MSLN-expressing cancers. Pleural mesothelioma (PM) is a deadly cancer that arises from mesothelial cells lining the pleura and is predominantly linked to asbestos exposure. There are currently no effective treatments, and diagnosis occurs in late stages of disease due to the lack of clinical symptoms in the early stages. Recent efforts to diagnose and treat PM have focused on identifying and …

Background:Electronic health care databases are widely used for epidemiological studies. However, they may contain inactive records of individuals no longer participating in the health care system. These inactive records create a methodological challenge as they systematically appear as unexposed with no recorded outcomes. Given the widespread health care system engagement during the COVID-19 pandemic, the English National Health Service (NHS), which hosts a national pandemic planning and research dataset with linkage to COVID-19 vaccination and emergency care data, makes it an ideal setting to identify the extent of overrepresentation due to inactive health care records and assess ways to mitigate …

All Decisions
A landlord initiated a holdover proceeding, alleging occupants were licensees. The tenants moved to dismiss, contending they were tenants at sufferance or at will, thus requiring a 30-day notice of termination under RPL § 228, not the 10-day notice served. The landlord argued a prior Appellate Division decision, which found tenants were not rent-stabilized, estopped this claim. The court disagreed, holding that prior findings did not preclude the tenants from arguing non-licensee status. Recognizing the tenants had exclusive possession, the court determined they were improperly classified as licensees, rendering the 10-day notice insufficient and dismissing the petition without prejudice.

Robust Pid Control Of A 2 Dof Robotic Arm Actuated By Permanent Magnet Dc Motors: Lyapunov’S Stability Analysis And Simulation Results, Erik Chumacero-Polanco
Informatics and Engineering Systems Faculty Publications
We present a robust PID control for a 2 DoF exoskeleton actuated by permanent-magnet direct current (PMDC) motors. The control design exploits the architecture of the exoskeleton’s dynamical model, which is regarded as the interconnection of a mechanical and an electrical subsystems. The inner loop control for the mechanical subsystem uses robust PID control while the outer control loop uses a model-based control for the electrical subsystem. Lyapunov’s second method is used to show asymptotic stability of the position and velocity tracking error equilibrium point. Asymptotic stability in Lyapunov sense is proved in a twofold procedure. First, it is shown …

The transition from medical school to residency is both a transformative and a challenging process. International literature suggests that there are known or perceived gaps in preparation for residency training in many areas of medicine. However, in the current published literature, there is no discussion of perceived gaps existing in pathology residency preparation. This study surveyed both pathology residency program directors and first-year pathology residents about the knowledge of pathology and basic medical skills residents received in medical school, perceptions about readiness for pathology residency, and perceived gaps in preparation for pathology residency that could be addressed. This survey found …

A Clinical Practice Guideline For Managing Gastrointestinal Toxicities Related To Glp-1ra And Gip/Glp-1ra Medications, Lindsay Williamson
Walden Dissertations and Doctoral Studies
The project is a Clinical Practice Guideline (CPG) for managing Gastrointestinal (GI) toxicities related to Glucagon-like Peptide-Receptor Agonist 1 (GLP-1RA) and Glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide/Glucagon-like peptide-1Receptor Agonist (GIP/GLP-1RA) medications. Many patients are seeking weight loss with these agents, which cause GI toxicities that lead prescribers to have patients remain at lower doses that are sub-therapeutic or discontinue therapy. Advanced Practice Registered Nurses (APRNs) are prescribing these therapies for patients and lack an evidence-based CPG for properly managing the most common GI toxicities. APRNs can successfully monitor and manage GI symptoms to promote tolerability and treatment adherence. The project question focuses on …
Probation Officers' Experiences Working With Individuals Who Have Antisocial Personality Traits, Katherine Ore
Probation Officers' Experiences Working With Individuals Who Have Antisocial Personality Traits, Katherine Ore
Walden Dissertations and Doctoral Studies
In fulfilling their role of monitoring individuals outside of a prison setting, probation officers may encounter individuals who have antisocial personality disorder (ASPD) or antisocial personality (ASP) traits. Individuals who have ASP traits and are not diagnosed with ASPD are still impacted by recommendations of punishment, higher recidivism rates, and a lack of treatment resources provided. Individuals in the criminal justice system with ASP traits are not a new phenomenon, but there is a lack of research on the probation officers' experience working with these individuals. The purpose of this study was to examine and explore the experiences of probation …
Clinicians’ Perceptions Of Restorative Justice And Community-Based Intervention Programs For Juvenile Offenders, Jacque Timberlake
Clinicians’ Perceptions Of Restorative Justice And Community-Based Intervention Programs For Juvenile Offenders, Jacque Timberlake
Walden Dissertations and Doctoral Studies
The main goals of restorative justice and community-based intervention programs include reducing reoffending behavior, successful reintegration, and yielding greater satisfaction among participants. Although clinicians play a vital role in conducting rehabilitation methods for youth offenders, the problem was a lack of literature that explored clinicians’ perceptions of implementing more effective alternatives such as restorative justice and community-based intervention programs. The purpose of this generic qualitative study was to explore clinicians’ perceptions of administering rehabilitative interventions for youth offenders, specifically in reducing recidivism, adequately addressing mental health concerns, and evaluating overall program effectiveness. The risk-need responsivity model and the good lives …
The Process Of Enduring Prolonged Undiagnosed Ptsd And The Impact Of Treatment Expressed By Women, Kelli Elaine Hudgins
The Process Of Enduring Prolonged Undiagnosed Ptsd And The Impact Of Treatment Expressed By Women, Kelli Elaine Hudgins
Walden Dissertations and Doctoral Studies
Prolonged undiagnosed posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) has been examined from various perspectives and represents a significant medical concern across diverse populations. Research on PTSD often targets specific groups, such as postpartum women or military veterans. This narrow focus in much of the literature tends to obscure the broader impact of prolonged undiagnosed PTSD on the general population, thereby overlooking the critical need to highlight systemic shortcomings that hinder effective interventions and reform. Furthermore, personal narratives detailing the challenges individuals face when seeking help or treatment – factors that contribute to delays in care – and the subsequent effects on their …

Exploring Public Health Nurses’ Perceptions Of Syringe Services Programs In Southern Rural Areas, Joel Lowery
Walden Dissertations and Doctoral Studies
Public health nurses are potentially key stakeholders in syringe services program (SSP) implementation in rural areas, where they can act as liaisons between public health, private healthcare, and the community. However, little research reflects an in-depth understanding of how public health nurses perceive SSPs in rural areas. The purpose of this qualitative study was to explore the perceptions of syringe services programs held by public health nurses practicing in rural areas with no existing SSPs in southern states and ascertain their potential roles in facilitating harm reduction for people who inject drugs. This study was guided by a conceptual framework …
Qualitative Insights Into The Complexity Of Calling: Moving Beyond Quantitative Boundaries, Jeannel King
Qualitative Insights Into The Complexity Of Calling: Moving Beyond Quantitative Boundaries, Jeannel King
The Qualitative Report
Why are deeply personal and lived experiences often reduced to standardized measurements? Calling is one such experience. Although widely recognized as complex, personal, and contextually shaped, the concept of calling has most often been researched through quantitative methods over the past two decades. This study employed qualitative content analysis (QCA) to examine how calling was researched across 267 peer-reviewed journal articles, trace methodological patterns, and consider how those choices influence the field’s conceptualizations of the construct. The analysis integrated deductive coding of methodological features and inductive identification of conceptual themes, refined through abductive synthesis. This hybrid strategy positioned the study …

Exposure to radon and its progeny poses a significant health risk for workers in tourist caves. Implementing protective measures is challenging due to increasingly strict gas concentration and dose limits in new regulations. This study evaluates the annual effective radiation doses received by workers and researchers, considering seasonal and spatial radon variability. Radon levels, temperature, and ventilation patterns were continuously monitored for at least one year in each cave. Results show significant radon fluctuations influenced by seasonal ventilation regimes driven by thermal gradients between the cave and external atmosphere. Using International Commission on Radiological Protection guidelines, the study calculates the …
