The Impact Of Adhd On Entrepreneurship Through A Gender Lens Three Essays, Mi Hoang Tran

This dissertation investigates how neurodiversity, specifically attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), relates to entrepreneurial behaviors and outcomes, with a specific attention to gender as a moderating factor. The first essay provides a comprehensive meta-analytic review of 44 empirical studies, synthesizing 261 effect sizes to assess the relationship between ADHD and different stages of the entrepreneurial process: attitudes, behaviors, and post-launch outcomes. Results reveal that hyperactivity/impulsivity symptoms are positively associated with entrepreneurial attitudes and behaviors but unrelated to post-launch outcomes, while inattention symptoms are negatively associated with outcomes. These findings offer evidence that ADHD’s impact is phase-specific and contingent. The second essay draws …

We study the behavior of Betti growth of modules over Artinian rings under some $\Tor$ vanishing conditions. Let $(R,\fm)$ be a local Artinian ring with a fixed ideal $I$, and $M$ a finite module. We extend the framework developed in \cite{huneke2014vanishing} by introducing and analyzing a new invariant, $\gamma_I(M)$ (see Definition \ref{definition}), associated with the ideal $I$ of the ring $R$ and a finitely generated $R$-module $M$. Typically, the metric are standardized testing regimes. This dissertation investigates the variation in the electoral mobilization of Islamist parties in Pakistan, Tunisia, and Turkey using comparative historical analysis. These Muslim-majority countries (MMCs) have experienced free and fair elections, yet the electoral success of Islamist parties varies considerably among them. In Turkey and Tunisia, Islamist parties have mobilized successfully and won power at the national level, whereas in Pakistan, they have largely underperformed. This study argues that the root cause of these differences lies in the historical decisions made by the political elite regarding the role of Islam in fostering nationalism and state-building at the time of independence. …

This literature review explores the influence Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) can have on choosing a helping profession as well as their effect on law enforcement personnel and their ability to cope with occupational trauma. Law enforcement officers are routinely exposed to high-stress, high-risk environments which can exacerbate underlying trauma stemming from early life experiences. This paper investigates the environmental and ecological toll of Israel’s current occupation and genocide of Palestine through ecological, historical, philosophical, and legal lenses. Chapter 1 explores the ecological impacts that Israel’s prolonged military operations have had on Gaza and the West Bank since October 7, 2023. Chapter 2 provides a comprehensive examination of the ideological motivations and historical context for Israel’s colonization of Palestine. The chapter also provides a pre-colonial history of Palestine’s indigenous agriculture and land management practices, highlighting its self-sufficiency and sustainability prior to the occupation. In 2024, artist Tenzing Rigdol created an installation - titled Biography of a Thought - spanning the entirety of the atrium in the Robert Lehman wing of the Metropolitan Museum of Art. His larger-than-life mandala included twenty painted panels on four walls, a central podium with a panel on top, and carpets on the floor mirroring parts of the painted shapes on the walls. Complete with bright sunlight streaming from the above skylight, the room transformed into a modern mandala - a walkable, meditative, transformative space. Nanometer-scale titanomagnetite crystals have been detected in nominally aphyric rhyolite pumice, but whether they are numerous enough to impact bubble nucleation in explosive silicic volcanism was unresolved. This study examines sub-micron crystals using rock magnetic techniques, Rhyolite-MELTS modeling, and physical characterization. We analyzed pumice from four eruptions spanning wide ranges in intensity, storage depth, and bubble number density (1016 to 1013 m−3 liquid): 1060 CE Glass Mountain, 1912 CE Novarupta, 232 CE Taupo, and 0.45 Ma Pudahuel. Calculations assuming monospecific assemblages of 10 and 1,000 nm cubic particles yield titanomagnetite number densities of 1021 to 1013 m−3 dense rock equivalent, …

The species of cattle fever ticks (CFT) present in North America, Rhipicephalus (=Boophilus) annulatus, and R. microplus, remain an important agricultural and economic burden. Background: Magnolia alejandrae is a tree endemic to Tamaulipas, Mexico, distributed in the forests of the Sierra Madre Oriental. Objective: Our objective was to analyze the secondary metabolite profile of different parts of M. alejandrae and evaluate their antiproliferative activity in vitro. Methods: Different extracts of leaf, bark, and fruit were obtained using conventional and unconventional extraction methods with solvents of different polarity. The extracts were analyzed by Ultra-Performance Liquid Chromatography-Mass Spectra (UPLC-MS), and their antiproliferative activity against cancer cell lines was determined. BAF (SWI/SNF) chromatin remodelers engage binding partners to generate site-specific DNA accessibility. However, the basis for interaction between BAF and divergent binding partners has remained unclear. Here, we tested the hypothesis that scaffold proteins augment BAF's binding repertoire by examining β-catenin (CTNNB1) and steroidogenic factor 1 (SF-1, NR5A1), a transcription factor central to steroid production in human cells. BAF inhibition rapidly opposed SF-1/β-catenin enhancer occupancy, impairing SF-1 target activation and SF-1/β-catenin autoregulation. These effects arise due to β-catenin's role as a molecular adapter between SF-1 and an intrinsically disordered region (IDR) of the canonical BAF (cBAF) subunit ARID1A. In contrast …

BACKGROUND AND AIMS: The Doublecortin-like kinase-1 (DCLK1) plays a chemosensory role in the gut. It's role in the context of inflammatory diseases including inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), has not been thoroughly investigated. This study explored the role of the DCLK1 isoform (DCLK1-S) in promoting infectious/chemical colitis by utilizing high-throughput imaging mass cytometry (IMC).

METHODS: Transgenic mice were either infected with Citrobacter rodentium (CR) or received DSS and tissues/cells were processed via standard techniques. This thesis traces the evolving symbolism of the Naga motif (a mythic water serpent) in Northeast Thailand through a framework I call meta-motion, which maps symbolic persistence of this cultural signifier and boundary marker across four cultural horizons—animist (Z), Hindu–Khmer (B), Buddhist (A), and modern/global (C). Like electrons in quantum super position, symbolic motifs circulate as overlapping “waves” of potential meaning and are concretized into cultural “particles” only when recruited for specific ritual, commercial, or political purposes. Tort liability for failure to “age gate” is a promising legal response to the public health hazards of AI, social media, sports gambling, and other digital spaces. Tort liability for failure to “age gate” hinges liability for harms to minors on an app’s failure to take reasonable steps to prevent minors from gaining access or otherwise to apply appropriate governance rules, such as privacy-protective default settings or ensuring genuine parental consent. The rare Horn of Africa buthid genus Lanzatus Kovařík, 2001, known only from Somalia and Somaliland, is recorded for the first time from Ethiopia. We describe a new species Lanzatus fuscipalpis sp. n. fully illustrated with color photographs showing its morphology, habitus, hemispermatophore, and collection sites.
