Managing co-watching sessions may present difficulties when one user becomes inactive while others remain engaged, as continuing playback could create an inaccurate viewing history for the inactive user, while pausing could disrupt the session for active users. Systems and methods are described that can arbitrate playback by evaluating an inactivity signal from one user's device, such as a smartphone, tablet, or smart television, against countervailing activity signals from other session participants' devices. Existing methods for making purchases through media displays, such as connected televisions, can introduce user interaction friction that may lead to transaction abandonment. A system can utilize a primary media display device to broadcast encrypted commerce information using short-range wireless protocols, for example, ultra-wideband or Bluetooth low energy, when media playback is paused. A secondary companion computing device (e.g., a smartphone, wearable device, tablet computer, or augmented reality glasses) can receive this information. Energy performance in per- and polyfluoroalkyl substance (PFAS) treatment is often reported on a volumetric basis, in kilowatt-hours per cubic metre of water processed. Volumetric energy is necessary for hydraulic design and utility sizing, but it is insufficient by itself for cross-study comparison because it does not reference the quantity of contaminant addressed. This paper develops the mass-normalised complement and, more importantly, establishes the conditions under which either metric may be used comparatively.

OVERVIEW

A complete, internally consistent paper design — nothing has been built — for a heat-driven desiccant comfort and drinking-water platform for humid-tropical climates, deployable on land and on marine platforms. Input is solar thermal or waste heat at 60–93 °C; outputs are dry cool air, safe indoor air quality (<1,000 ppm CO2 in sealed operation), hot water, and potable water, for occupied volumes of roughly 100 m3 (yacht interiors, small dwellings, cabins, shelters).

The sole governing design point is DP-A: 32 °C / 80% RH (humidity ratio 24.2 g/kg, dew point 28.1 °C) with a raw-water sink near 29 °C. At this condition every ambient heat sink sits at or above the dew point, so sink-cooled condensation harvests essentially no water and …

Background: Infectious diseases are a great challenge to the health of children globally. This paper provides an epidemiological scenario and patterns of these diseases among children in the Hilla Babylon Governorate, Iraq, and specifically, the re-emergence of meals.

Methods: The retrospective study was carried out on 7851 medical records of children aged below 15 years between the period of January 1, 2022 and December 31, 2024. The registry of Babylon Maternity and Children Hospital was used to extract data. Data were analyzed in terms of trends and distributions by age, sex and time using descriptive statistics and inferential tests.

Background: Registered Nurses employed in critical access hospital settings are required to care for patients across the lifespan with varying levels of acuity. The registered nurse (RN) must be competent in providing medical, surgical, pediatric, obstetric, and intensive care-level services. However, the additional training they receive to care for their patients may be minimal or nonexistent, leading them to seek employment at other facilities due to safety concerns. Leadership within the organization believed that implementing targeted monthly nursing skills boot camps could increase nurses’ competence, confidence, and retention in critical access hospital settings.

This study develops ICUQF, an integrated uncertainty framework for digitally instrumented construction megaprojects that unite probabilistic simulation, fuzzy reasoning, Bayesian networks, AI-driven anomaly detection, BIM-linked digital twins, and organizational learning into a single operational architecture. The framework classifies uncertainty into aleatory variability, epistemic gaps, data-centric and model-centric risks, and cognitive or cultural sources, mapping each class to computational treatments such as Monte Carlo engines for stochastic variability, fuzzy intervals and p-boxes for imprecise expert judgments, and hierarchical Bayesian models for coherent evidence aggregation and online updating.
