Sancocho Leadership: Nurturing Leadership And Vocation Of Latinas, Miriam Méndez

Latinas are vital to the future of the American Baptist Churches of New Jersey (ABCNJ), but the church has failed to properly nurture and develop their pastoral leadership gifts. They contribute significantly to congregational life, pastoral care, community outreach, and theological imagination. However, their presence in formal pastoral leadership roles remains limited. This dissertation examines the structural, cultural, and theological factors that influence Latina pastoral development. The solution for developing Latina women into pastoral leadership positions in the ABCNJ is the introduction of a contextual, culturally rooted model called Sancocho Leadership. Every trial has a rhythm and a flow. Every trial is a performance. This article extends the literature on law and music further into the field of evidence. I offer a new exploration and reimagining of the Federal Rules of Evidence through leitmotivs. I contend that leitmotivs—musical calling cards—reify principles of evidence law. As I spin these leitmotivs, I propose two amendments to Rule 604 regarding the oath for courtroom interpreters. Age-related macular degeneration is a common ocular condition in the older adult population, being the leading cause of visual impairments in industrialised countries. The prevalence of age-related macular degeneration is expected to increase along with increased life-expectancy. The early stages of age-related macular degeneration often present no noticeable symptoms; however, visual function may be impaired, particularly under low light conditions. An initial impairment tends to occur in the parafoveal region where rod photoreceptors are denser, as these photoreceptors were shown to be more prone to dysfunction than cone photoreceptors in early stages of age-related macular degeneration. “We survived to tell the tale.” This dissertation explores the intersections of visual art, Black cultural memory, and spiritual labor through a body of creative and scholarly work rooted in Black textile traditions. Informed by the artist’s upbringing in West Baltimore and shaped by the spiritual and communal practices of the Black church, the research considers artmaking as a form of ritual, resistance, and remembrance. This paper explores the value of imperfections and curated decay in the conservation of architecture and public art as vehicles of cultural memory. While conventional heritage practice treats physical degradation as a threat, newer conservation ethics argue for embracing material impermanence within an aesthetics of care. We examine how acknowledging patina, weathering, and even structural decline can become an act of care, maintaining the “spirit” and authenticity of a place. Organic semiconductors, derived from π-conjugated polymers and molecules, enable the development of deformable, stretchable and flexible electronics due to their tunable redox, optical, electronic and mechanical properties. However, an informed understanding of how multi-scale morphological characteristics of the polymeric and molecular semiconductors influence bulk properties that contribute to electronic and optical performance, especially under operational thermal and mechanical stresses, remains incomplete. This dissertation explores continuity and development in the eschatological understanding of the seventh-day Sabbath within selected Adventist theological writings from its Millerite origins to the contemporary scholarship of Jo Ann Davidson. The eschatological aspects of the Sabbath have played a central role in both pioneer and contemporary Adventist thought, particularly in its identification as the seal of God in Revelation and as a sign of covenant loyalty in the final crisis. Consumer debt is a long-standing global phenomenon, yet the regulation of debt collection practices remains fragmented across international borders. This lack of uniform standards leaves consumers vulnerable to debt collectors who exploit weak legal frameworks, resorting to abusive, harassing, and deceptive tactics to pressure repayment. Such practices not only undermine consumer trust in the financial services industry but also prove self-defeating; aggressive collection methods can destabilize a consumer’s financial footing and daily livelihood, ultimately impairing their capacity to repay.

This study analyzes the formal organization and musical discourse of Preludio, Fugue and Saturnal through a relational and process-oriented framework. It defines form as an emergent condition resulting from the interaction of musical parameters rather than as a predetermined structural model. The analysis focuses on the behavior of pitch organization, rhythmic structure, harmonic stratification, and motivic processes.

This dissertation proposes the development of the first pedagogically grounded anthology of German‑language musical theatre repertoire curated specifically for the soprano voice, addressing a significant gap in collegiate vocal performance training. Existing anthologies, particularly the Hal Leonard Singer’s Musical Theatre Anthology series, remain dominated by English‑language works, limiting opportunities for singers to build linguistic proficiency, stylistic versatility, and cross‑cultural engagement. The spread of fake news on online social networks is driven by imitation-based user behavior and network topology, often leading to persistent misinformation clusters and echo chambers. In this study, we develop a spatial evolutionary game-theoretic framework in which agents update their latent opinions through payoff-biased imitation, while external fact-checkers act as non-imitative intervention nodes. Building on this formulation, we propose an adaptive, boundary-aware intervention mechanism that dynamically regulates both the density and spatial allocation of fact-checkers according to real-time system conditions. In Nepal, landless populations can broadly be categorized into two groups: urban squatters and rural landless families. Each group can further be distinguished by its level of political connection and access to power.

Among urban squatters, politically connected groups often occupy open public spaces in cities with some degree of protection or tolerance from political parties. In contrast, less powerful urban squatters usually settle on public land because they cannot afford formal housing. Natural killer cells play a critical role in the innate immune response against Human Immunodeficiency Virus and Simian Immunodeficiency Virus infections. During HIV/SIV infection, NK cells undergo functional impairment characterized by an imbalance between activating and inhibitory surface receptors. The upregulation of inhibitory receptors, TIGIT and TIM-3, has proven to contribute to NK cell exhaustion during different retroviral infections. Despite the decay in the acceptability of explicit racism brought about by the passage of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, implicit racism may continue to inform individual decision making even into the first quarter of the twenty-first century. Utilizing data from 25 years of the General Social Survey, this study examines how indicators of symbolic racism, a form of implicit racism, impact punitive policy preferences among the general United States population using separate logistic regression models isolating each indicator, plus a full model, for each outcome. Background and Purpose: The growing demand for bone regeneration following severe injuries highlights the importance of scaffolds in bone tissue engineering (BTE). Injectable hydrogels have emerged as promising candidates because their properties closely mimic the native extracellular matrix (ECM). However, their limited mechanical strength and structural instability restrict their practical application. Approach: This review summarizes recent strategies for reinforcing in situ-forming injectable hydrogels to improve their mechanical performance for bone regeneration.
