She is an officer – and a woman. Emphasizing that she is not a military chaplain herself, she describes her role as a manager of the spiritual front. She is responsible for organizing the fulfillment of soldiers’ spiritual and religious needs and coordinating military chaplaincy activities. This conversation with Colonel Larysa Polyanska explores what it means for a woman to lead the chaplaincy service of the Land Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the reality of two fronts – physical and spiritual – and the pain of loss, prayer, and the power of words.

This article examines the religious life in Western Ukrainian lands during the First World War, amidst military operations and changing occupational regimes. It establishes that the Russian occupational authorities applied mechanisms of confessional control, previously tested in other captured Ukrainian and Belarusian territories, aimed at the forced imposition of Orthodoxy and the liquidation of the Greek Catholic Church. Particular attention is paid to the scale of religious persecution: the deportation of Metropolitan Andrey Sheptytsky, the arrests of Greek Catholic priests, pogroms against the Jewish population, and mass deportations of Protestants. In June 2022, the Supreme Court articulated a new standard of judicial review for Second Amendment cases in New York State Rifle & Pistol Association, Inc. v. Bruen. Though the Court claimed that Bruen’s “history and tradition” standard was consistent with previous Second Amendment analyses, lower courts struggled to apply it. Two years later, the Court revisited Bruen for the first time in United States v. Rahimi. However, Rahimi came with a unique set of facts – at its core, it was a case about domestic violence restraining orders.

Children’s everyday lives are shaped by shifting rhythms of movement, suspension, and retrospection through which time becomes lived, imagined, and meaningful. This article brings together interdisciplinary and international perspectives, with members of a collective reflecting on temporality in children’s lives. Across a prologue and nine reflective pieces developed through prolonged dialogue, the article explores time in children’s diverse everyday contexts — including home, school, public, digital, and natural environments — in Canada, Czechia, Finland, and the USA. In the United States, suburban elementary schools continue to diversify, while teaching staff remain predominantly White, creating urgency for culturally responsive practices (CRP) in non-urban settings (Stanford, 2023). In this study, I examined CRP’s goodness enacted by four teachers in New Jersey suburban elementary schools, a context shaped by state mandates for diversity and inclusion (New Jersey Department of Education (NJDOE), 2022). In the absence of a federal statute criminalizing domestic terrorism, the United States turned to an unlikely proxy: the death penalty. This Comment argues that capital punishment is used to define domestic terrorism, particularly when statutory tools cannot capture white supremacist attacks. Although former President Biden commuted most federal death sentences to life imprisonment without parole, three individuals whose attacks met the legal definition of domestic terrorism were excluded from clemency. Placenta accreta spectrum (PAS) is a leading cause of obstetric morbidity and peripartum hysterectomy. Background: Ovarian Sex Cord-Stromal Tumors (SCST) are a broad category of rare neoplasms that exhibit diagnostic challenges. Introduction: Transurethral Incision of the Prostate (TUIP) is a recognized surgical treatment for benign prostatic obstruction (BPO), particularly in patients with smaller glands. While valued for its minimal invasiveness, it is associated with higher medium-term reoperation rates. This study analyzes a 20-year institutional experience to define the rate, timing, causes, and predictors of readmission and reoperation after TUIP. Methods: A retrospective review of 557 patients who underwent TUIP for BPO was conducted. Data collected included demographics, comorbidities, perioperative details and complications graded by the Clavien-Dindo system. Univariate and multivariate logistic regression analyses identified predictors of readmission and reoperation if present. …

Auditors often underestimate the severity of internal control deficiencies, particularly when associated misstatements are immaterial. We find that auditors are more likely to correctly classify a material weakness when no misstatement information is provided than when misstatement information is available, and that this finding may unconsciously arise from auditors’ construal level in judging control deficiency severity. Through a series of experiments, we manipulate misstatement information related to an internal control deficiency designed to represent a material weakness. Caterpillar Inc., the world's largest heavy equipment manufacturer, grew rapidly in the 20th century before a crisis of overproduction in the early 1980s threatened its survival. In response, it launched the $2.8 billion “Plant with a Future” (PWAF) program, a sweeping material and ideological overhaul that remade the firm for the post-Fordist global economy. This article advances three interventions. First, it shows how post-Fordism as a spatial and ideological project emphasized decentralization, accountability, and customer orientation, which helped legitimize and institutionalize corporate restructuring.
