The development in telehealth operations in outpatient mental health care has enhanced access to care at the expense of creating challenges in communication and workflow, especially when it comes to dealing with high-risk substances like benzodiazepines. The reproductive health of females during their fertile years is foundational for individual well-being and societal prosperity. The purpose of this study was to bridge the analytical and epistemological gaps currently existing in the literature regarding Ārthavavaha Srotas (ĀvS), the Ayurvedic concept of the female reproductive system. A comprehensive literature review was conducted using forward and backward searches to analyse authentic Ayurvedic texts (Caraka and Sushruta Samhitas) alongside contemporary research articles published between 2014 and 2024. BACKGROUND: Glioblastoma (GBM) is an aggressive primary brain malignancy with limited therapeutic options and poor survival outcomes. Recent real-world studies and early-phase clinical trials evaluating metformin have yielded mixed findings. This study assessed the association between post-diagnosis metformin exposure and all-cause mortality in a large population-based cohort of older adults with GBM.

METHODS: A retrospective cohort study was conducted utilizing the Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results (SEER)-Medicare linked database. Adults aged ≥66 years diagnosed with GBM between 2007 and 2018 were included, excluding those with other malignancies or diagnoses made by autopsy or death certificate. Synthetic data generation is a promising solution to privacy concerns in healthcare analytics, particularly when working with sensitive patient information. This study evaluates the performance and fairness of generative models in creating realistic synthetic datasets derived from blood test and demographic data. Three distinct medical datasets are used, including anonymised clinical data from a public hospital in Ireland, a public UCI medical dataset, and a Korean National Health Insurance dataset from 2002. However, many taxpayers fail to grasp why the IRS has such an elongated time period—namely, three years— to audit their tax returns and propose an assessment. Indeed, when the IRS exercises its oversight authority, records may no longer be available, and memories may be dulled.

This article offers a critical examination of Tom Crewe's biographical novel The New Life (2023), focusing on its representation of homosexual subjectivity in Victorian England—a historical context defined by restrictive moral norms and punitive legal regimes that criminalised same-sex relationships. Drawing on Michel Foucault's theory of discursive power, Eve Kosofsky Sedgwick's concept of the closet, and Michael Boucai's topology of the closet, the study demonstrates that the novel portrays the closet not merely as a private site of concealment but as a complex social mechanism shaped by legal regulation, gender norms, and class-based power relations. When workers have to adapt to a new culture, they develop intercultural skills as cultural intelligence (CQ), which is the ability to show an interest and act effectively in an environment characterized by cultural diversity. There has been little research on this subject in France, and studies have focused on expatriates, while acculturation also affects people from the local community. This is the case for local agricultural workers (LW), whose perceptions we compare with those of foreign posted agricultural workers (PW) in France. This realist evaluation explored how access to preconception care works for people with pre-existing health conditions, for whom, and in what contexts. Thirty one participants (women of reproductive age, partners, and healthcare professionals) were interviewed using qualitative realist methods. Iterative analysis refined 35 initial programme theories into 13 middle range theories. The theory reported here identifies healthcare professionals’ knowledge of sexual and reproductive health, understanding of pregnancy planning, and enquiry regarding pregnancy intention as key mechanisms. Spasticity, a type of hypertonia characterized by a velocity-dependent increase in muscle tone, is associated with damage to the brain and/or spinal cord in different neurological conditions. However, secondary non-neurological factors, such as soft tissue changes, can complicate the assessment and differentiation of the underlying causes. Accurate assessment is crucial for effective treatment planning, with clinicians relying on passive movement to grade the ‘feel’ of the spastic limb. How does the U.S. Supreme Court establish its legitimacy? Over the last two hundred years in U.S. society, the Court has interpreted the U.S. Constitution on watershed issues such as slavery, segregation, and marriage equality. And yet the Constitution is just 7,591 words. A puzzle thus emerges: how does the Court intelligibly interpret this short text for U.S. society? This article develops a new theoretical and empirical cultural sociological account of such Supreme Court decision-making, which it calls “communicative legitimacy.” According to this theory, which draws on Jeffrey Alexander’s civil sphere theory, the Court consistently and inevitably draws on a …

Journal of Counselor Preparation and Supervision

This study explored the competencies needed to prepare counselors to address the systemic and relational impacts of poverty within counselor education. Using Q methodology, expert participants identified critical knowledge, skills, and awareness factors required for effective practice. Two distinct factors emerged: (1) the centrality of relational competencies such as empathy, cultural humility, and trust-building, and (2) the necessity for curriculum-wide integration of poverty-specific training and systemic advocacy. Findings highlight the need for counselor education programs to embed poverty-related competencies across curricula, foster interdisciplinary collaboration, and develop experiential and advocacy-based training models. When a problem erupts between two states, interstate compacts provide a solution without the need for a nationwide decision. Rather than waiting for federal consensus, the states can, with Congressional approval, compact to solve their problems. However, the Supreme Court’s decision in Texas v. New Mexico (Texas II) has threatened interstate compacts, ignored principles of federalism, and overextended its original jurisdiction. It has allowed the United States to force Texas and New Mexico to keep fighting over a compact, even when the states have resolved their issues on their own.
