Sixty two thalassemic patients who were regularly attending maternity and obstetrics teaching hospital Al- Diwaniya ,(22) who were apparently healthy, all have enrolled for serological screening during the period ( January 2013- March 2013)The ELISA is used to evaluat the load of HBs-Ag, HBC and HBs-Ab.Only one case has given positive for HbsAg test , while (2) of the patients showed positive test for HCV .Moreover,4(6.5%) patients had no HBs-Ab in their serum and at high risk of contract infection . Two critical steps in tumor growth and invasion: are the proteolytic processing of the extracellular matrix environment, and the angiogenic switch enabling blood supply into the tumor. Thirty four cases of Impetigo Contagious collected at period1/11/2008 to 1/6 /2009 with Female: Male ratio of (18:16) with ages (1- 30) The results was found that 26 patients (76.4 %) revealed staphylococcus aureus in laboratory examination . four patients (11.76 %) have shown streptococcus pyogenes , while the remaining (11.76 %) were found to have combined bacteria. This work revealed the interesting similar results of causative agent : staphylococcus aureus is the main pathogen , almost consistent with western literatures.

This study aimed to investigate gram-positive bacteremia in febrile children according to some risk factors and to detect the type causative bacteria. One hundred sixty blood samples were collected from children under 2 years who were suffering from fever and admitted to emergency department of Babylon Maternity and Children Hospital in Hilla. The results indicated that 31(19.4%) blood samples revealed positive cultures consisting of 21(68%) gram-positive bacterial isolates and 10(32%) gram-negative isolates*. This study was performed to determine the effects of Evening primrose oil (EPO) on haemostatic parameters following 30 and 60 days administration of 90 mg/kg (EPO) to healthy male rabbits. The laboratory resulting in significant increase in Prothrombin time (PT), activated partial thromboplastin time (aPTT) assays (p<0.01), platelets count significantly decreased (p<0.01) at both times. While fibrinogen concentration are insignificantly decreased. These effects might be due to inactivation or inhibition of factors affecting coagulation.

Patients and methods:- One hundred diabetic patients attended the department of dermatology and venereology was evaluated. Sixty of them were male and 40 female. Sixty two percent of them had type I and 38% had type I diabetes mellitus I.Result: - Neuropathic cutaneous lesions were found in 32.43% of patients. Objective: To examine the dissemination of extended spectrum ßlactamase (ESBL) producing isolates of Klebseilla pneumoniae obtained from patients with significant bacteriuria.Methods: ESBL and multiantibiotic resistance were studied in a total of 25 isolates of K. pneumoniae.Results: all isolates found resistance to at least five of the antibiotics used in this study. All the isolates were found sensitive to the antibiotic imipenem. 5 (22.7%) of these isolates were ESBL producing. The ESBL producing isolates were more resistant to antibiotics than non-ESBL isolates.
