While reviewing and discussing the potential of data science in oncology, we emphasize medical imaging and radiomics as the leading contextual frameworks to measure the impacts of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) developments. We envision some domains and research directions in which radiomics should become more significant in view of current barriers and limitations.

BACKGROUND: The financial hardships and social isolation experienced during the COVID-19 pandemic have been found to adversely affect children's developmental outcomes. While many studies thus far have focused on school-aged children and the pandemic-related impacts on their academic skills and behavior problems, relatively less is known about pandemic hardships and associations with children's development during their early years. Using a racially and economically diverse sample, we examined whether hardships experienced during the pandemic were associated with children's development with a particular focus on communication and socioemotional development.

Although murine models of coronary atherosclerotic disease have been used extensively to determine mechanisms, limited new therapeutic options have emerged. Pigs with familial hypercholesterolemia (FH pigs) develop complex coronary atheromas that are almost identical to human lesions. We reported previously that insulin-like growth factor 1 (IGF-1) reduced aortic atherosclerosis and promoted features of stable plaque in a murine model. We administered human recombinant IGF-1 or saline (control) in atherosclerotic FH pigs for 6 months. IGF-1 decreased relative coronary atheroma in vivo (intravascular ultrasound) and reduced lesion cross-sectional area (postmortem histology). DAOs (Decentralized Autonomous Organizations) are a unique type of business organization due in large part to their directly democratic governance structure. Owners of DAOs, “tokenholders,” do not delegate control to a board or a general partner. Rather, tokenholders directly control a DAO and must approve every action that a DAO takes. Because tokenholders do not delegate control to an agent, the principal-agent problem is tempered in DAOs. The principal-agent problem is the basis for the fiduciary duties that govern traditional business organizations. These fiduciary duties are meant to prevent agents entrusted with power by their principals from self-dealing. Some have …

Medulloblastoma (MB) is a malignant pediatric brain tumor which shows upregulation of MYC and sonic hedgehog (SHH) signaling. SHH inhibitors face acquired resistance, which is a major cause of relapse. Further, direct MYC oncogene inhibition is challenging, inhibition of MYC upstream insulin-like growth factor/ phosphatidylinositol-4,5-bisphosphate 3-kinase (IGF/PI3K) is a promising alternative. While PI3K inhibition activates resistance mechanisms, simultaneous inhibition of bromodomain-containing protein 4 (BRD4) and PI3K can overcome resistance. We synthesized a new molecule 8-(2,3-dihydrobenzo[b] [1, 4] dioxin-6-yl)-2-morpholino-4H-chromen-4-one (MDP5) that targets both BRD4 and PI3K pathways. This article analyzes critical reflection groups held over the course of a year-long collaborative ethnography between me as researcher and five novice bilingual teachers. Drawing on feminist theories of emotion as knowledge, I argue that coalitional critical consciousness developed in our meetings through emotional expression and acknowledgment of identity in connection to systems of power. I also explore the affordances of collaborative methods in the formation of collective critique for practicing teachers.

For the past several decades, women have made up roughly half of law school classes and the ranks of entering law firm associates. Attrition between entry to law firms and partnership results in women comprising 20% to 25% of partners. But is there yet more attrition to the top of the partnership pyramid? Analyzing the past decade of data on publicly filed M&A deals and detailed biographical information of M&A lawyers, we find that women make up fewer than 10% of deal leaders. Recent years have seen a resurgence of the view that the role of the federal courts is to declare what the law is, not what the law should be. Scholars and judges, including a majority of the current U.S. Supreme Court justices, have expressed this view that the law is fixed at its creation and the function of courts is to declare its meaning. This study investigates the peristaltic flow of Walter's B fluid through an asymmetric channel using a couple stress model and a porous material. The constitutive equation is used to model mas balance, motion, trapped phenomena, velocity distribution, and pressure gradient.A wavelength with a low Remolds number assumption is used in the flow analysis, and the perturbation method is used to provide an accurate solution. Introduction: Abdominal symptoms are common in primary care but infrequently might be due to an upper gastrointestinal (UGI) cancer. Patients' descriptions may differ from medical terminology used by general practitioners (GPs). This may affect how information about abdominal symptoms possibly due to an UGI cancer are documented, creating potential missed opportunities for timely investigation.

Objectives: To explore how abdominal symptoms are communicated during primary care consultations, and identify characteristics of patients' descriptions that underpin variation in the accuracy and completeness with which they are documented in medical records.
