Exploring The Efficacy Of Expressive Arts Therapy For Promoting Emotional Expression In Adolescents With Psychosomatic Symptoms: A Scoping Review, Lalida Therakomen
Chulalongkorn University Theses and Dissertations (Chula ETD)
Adolescents often experience emotional challenges that can manifest as psychosomatic symptoms, a condition linked to emotional suppression and alexithymia. While evidence supports the use of art therapy, the specific application of expressive arts therapy (EAT) for psychosomatic symptoms in this population remains under-researched, particularly in Eastern cultural contexts. This scoping review was conducted to explore the efficacy of EAT in promoting emotional expression in adolescents with psychosomatic symptoms. A systematic search of four databases, guided by PRISMA guidelines, identified 15 studies for synthesis, including five Randomized Controlled Trials (RCTs). Findings consistently reported that interventions improved emotional expression, reduced psychosomatic symptoms …

Lead-Free Perovskite/Metal Oxide Heterojunction Photocatalyst For Sustainable Toluene Oxidation, Zakarya Hazaea
Lead-Free Perovskite/Metal Oxide Heterojunction Photocatalyst For Sustainable Toluene Oxidation, Zakarya Hazaea
Chulalongkorn University Theses and Dissertations (Chula ETD)
An important field of study is the ecologically benign synthesis of useful compounds such as benzaldehyde and benzyl alcohol from the organic contaminant toluene. Lead-free halide perovskites are excellent options for photocatalysis due to their exceptional photoelectric properties. Nonetheless, they have notable challenges, such as fast charge recombination and ineffective charge separation. In this work, we present a simple anti-solvent technique to create a heterojunction between lead-free halide perovskite Cs2AgBiBr6 (CABB) with Cu2O and Cu-Cu2O. This combination facilitates the photocatalytic activation of C(sp3)−H bonds, which in turn increases the oxidation of toluene. The Cu2O and Cu-Cu2O creating a Z-scheme heterojunction …

Family Rejection And Affirmation Experiences Among Racially And Ethnically Marginalized Youth Who Identify As Transgender And/Or Gender Diverse, Angela Matijczak
Theses and Dissertations
Relationships with family members can be a vital source of support, and significant stressor, that contributes to mental health outcomes among transgender and gender diverse young adults who are racially and ethnically marginalized (TGD REMY). Guided by a life history narrative approach, this qualitative study explored family affirmation and rejection among TGD REMY across three aims: (a) how TGD REMY define their experiences of family rejection and/or affirmation, (b) whether and how experiences of rejection/affirmation change throughout the lifetime, and (c) whether and how experiences of rejection/affirmation differ by each family member. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with 17 TGD REMY …

Identifying Mechanistic Pathways To Rigidity Associated With Obsessive-Compulsive Personality Disorder Traits Using A Novel Decision-Making Paradigm, Hannah L. Heintz
Theses and Dissertations
Cognitive and behavioral rigidity is observed across several mental disorders and is a defining characteristic of Obsessive-Compulsive Personality Disorder (OCPD), a highly prevalent and debilitating, yet understudied, disorder. In particular, treatments for OCPD are underdeveloped due to our poor understanding of the mechanisms leading to the disorder’s key feature of rigidity. Two related disorders, anorexia nervosa (AN) and obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), have shown distinct mechanistic pathways leading to symptoms of rigidity, indicating that this trait can arise as a result of a number of differentially impaired cognitive processes, each requiring unique interventions. To examine the relationship between symptoms of OCPD …
