but he is happy--in being married to the brightest, prettiest, sweetest, most attractive little woman - sensible too and extraordinarily intelligent - "up" so to speak. a "biological specialist" and, I should like to know what she doesn't know. You should hear her advance theories--at 25--which we have demonished at 37 [isn't it an awful age?] It is very interesting and amusing to have so young a member of one's household.

During the summer of 1893 the Michigan Fish Commission entered upon a biological study of the Great Lakes by maintaining a party on Lake St. Clair. In the report of that two months, written by the director of the laboratory, Professor J. E. Reighard, are given in full the reasons which led to the inception of the undertaking and the aims which its promoters held in view.
