Engineering and Technology Journal
For the reason of colossal technological developments, the requirement of image information methods became a significant issue. The aim of this research was to retrieve the word based on Fast Retina Key-points (FREAK) descriptor .The suggested system consists of four stages. In the first stage, the images of English letters are loaded. Points are detected via SUSAN in the second stage. FREAK used in the third stage and then a database was created containing 26 English letters. The image to be tested was entered and the points are extracted in the fourth stage and then Manhattan distance was used to …

Synthesis Of Some New Derivatives Of Pyrrolidine-2-One And Studying Their Antibacterial Potentials, Nadia Betti, Redha Hussain, Sahar Kadhem
Engineering and Technology Journal
New derivatives of pyrrolidine-2-one have been synthesized through lactamization of γ –butyrolactone (GBL) by hydrazine hydrate (80%), ethylene diamine and ethanol amine to afford compounds (1-aminopyrrolidin-2-one), (1-(2-aminoethyl)pyrrolidine-2-one) and (1-(2-hydroxyethyl)pyrrolidine-2-one), respectively. Compound (1-aminopyrrolidin-2-one) underwent several reactions to synthesize the rest of these derivatives. All synthesized compounds were approved by their FT-IR, 1H-NMR and some by Mass spectra. The biological activities of these derivatives were evaluated against Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus. Many of these derivatives showed moderate biological activity against one or both kind of bacteria in comparison to amoxicillin and some showed no biological activity at all.

And considering to the importance of mapping of (LCLU). For that reason this study will focus on the problems arising from the traditional classification (LCLU) that based on spatial resolution only which leads to prediction a thematic map with noisy classes, and using a new method that depend on spectral and spatial resolution to …

Rubber Pad Sheet Metal Forming Of Round Metal Blanks Into Multi Shape Axisymmetric Cups By Fea And Experimental Methods, Karem Younis, Adnan Mohammed, Jalil Shukur
Engineering and Technology Journal
Rubber-pad forming process of round sheet blanks into axisymmetric cups is studied by numerical and experimental approaches. In the experiments, round metal sheets are formed into the axisymmetric cups by pressing them between a rubber pad and a former block with desirable shape. To investigate influences of different parameters on the forming load, three former blocks with different shapes, blank material of low carbon steel (ST12) with thickness 0.5 mm ,three polyurethane rubber with different hardness (50,60 and 70) shore A and rubber pad having three different thickness (40,60 and 80) mm . ANSYS Workbench utilized to perform the numerical …

Seasonal Variations Of Air Pollutants Concentrations Within Baghdad City, Layla Alwan, Sedik Al-Hiyaly, Ayat Mahdi
Engineering and Technology Journal
Air pollution is increased significantly nowadays due to variousindustrial activities and car combustion emissions. In this work, data have beencollected from Al-Jadrya Monitoring Station (JMS). The effects of seasonalvariation on the pollutants concentration were examined. Furthermore, relations of nitrogen oxides concentrations (NOx) were assessed during the firsthours of the working days. Three randomly days from each of January,February, July and August have been taken to represent winter and summerseasons, respectively. It has been found that concentrations of all examinedpollutants have not exceeded the acceptable limits. However, nitrogen oxides(NOx) seem to be effected by seasonal variation where its concentration hasincreased in June …
