The aim of this paper is to explore and synthesise different perspectives on value and waste in the built environment to gain a holistic understanding of how value and waste emerge throughout the life cycle of building. Thus, this study used Long, Short-Term Neural Network Architecture (LSTM) to develop a model for predicting the cost of construction-related occupational accidents based on the body parts affected. Stream ecosystems promote variable microhabitats along a longitudinal gradient. These microhabitats support dynamic biotic assemblages. One such microhabitat in freshwater streams involves the external surface of crayfish. We investigated the microbiome of crayfish exoskeletons and the surrounding environment (water and substrate) in association with the presence and abundance of crayfish cleaning ectosymbionts (branchiobdellidans). These ectosymbionts actively consume the biofilm on crayfish as they live and reproduce in association with crayfish microhabitats. Sequenced microbes of the environment and crayfish were compared for dominant taxa. Olezarsen emerged as a novel promising Apo-C3 inhibitor for dyslipidemia. However, its dose-response relationship remains uncertain. This review aims to evaluate the lipid-lowering effect of olezarsen, safety measures, and dose-response effects to determine the optimal dose. A systematic search was conducted across Scopus, PubMed, ScienceDirect, and CENTRAL on January 2, 2025. Randomized controlled trial (RCT) comparing olezarsen with placebo in dyslipidemia was included. The Rob 2.0 tool was implemented to assess quality. Date palm cultivation is vital to agriculture in arid regions, but essential tasks like pollination, pruning, pesticide application, and harvesting remain labor-intensive, hazardous, and inefficient. While mechanized solutions exist, they are costly, complex, and less adaptable, making traditional manual methods still widely used. This study presents the Multi-Task Robot for Date Palm Crops, designed and visualized using SolidWorks CAD modeling to automate key farming tasks. The robotic system integrates mechanical components and task-specific tools optimized for precision and adaptability. Objective: To assess the performance of the relatively new hematological marker delta neutrophil index (DNI) and other inflammatory markers in proven sepsis of the very preterm infant.

Methods: Infants with a gestational age of <32 weeks and examined for suspected late-onset sepsis (LOS) were evaluated retrospectively. Demographic characteristics, laboratory findings, and neonatal morbidity and mortality were compared between infants with blood culture-confirmed sepsis and clinical sepsis.

Results: The study included 358 infants, 90 with proven sepsis and 268 with clinical sepsis. The mean gestational ages in these groups were 28.2±2 and 28.2±2.1 weeks, and the mean birth weight was 1139±372 and 1148±370 g, respectively (p>0.05). The proven sepsis group had higher DNI (median 7.1% [range, 0.1-74] vs. 0.6% [range, 0.1-24.7%], p<0.01], CRP (median 5 [range, 1-38] mg/L vs. 1 [range, 1-15] mg/L, p<0.001), interleukin 6 (median 620 [range, 6.9-5500] pg/mL vs. 42.2 [range, 2.2-5500] pg/mL, p<0.01), and procalcitonin (median 6.2 [range, 0.26-86] μg/L vs. 0.6 [range, 0.06-25.7] μg/L, p=0.002). According to ROC analysis, interleukin 6 had the highest area under the curve (AUC) at 0.74 (95% CI 0.60-0.88, p<0.01). The AUC values were 0.73 (95% CI 0.59-0.88, p=0.01) for procalcitonin, 0.62 (95% CI 0.44-0.80, p=0.18) for DNI, and 0.66 (95% CI 0.50-0.82, p=0.05) for CRP.

Objective: To investigate the epidemiological characteristics of children infected with diarrheal virus in Hangzhou, China, 2023.

Methods: From January 2023 to December 2023, 20,939 stool samples from children with acute infectious diarrhea were collected for detection of rotavirus A and human adenovirus, using Latex agglutination detection kits; 7584 stool samples were collected for detection of norovirus, using real‐time PCR reagent.

he urgent need for efficient detoxification of carcinogenic hexavalent chromium (Cr(VI)) in aquatic environments has driven the development of advanced photocatalytic materials. This study presents the synthesis of 2D CuO/reduced graphene oxide (rGO) nanocomposite via probe sonication, designed to synergistically enhance the photocatalytic reduction of Cr(VI) to less toxic Cr(III). The nanocomposite was meticulously characterized using XRD, HRTEM, FESEM, XPS, and UV-Vis diffuse reflectance spectroscopy. Understanding how immune-modulating therapies affect mRNA vaccine responses is essential for optimizing immunization strategies in cancer and immunocompromised patients. In this work, we investigate the immune response to the third dose of COVID-19 mRNA vaccine in cancer-free individuals, patients with non-Hodgkin lymphoma treated with rituximab (RTX), and patients with solid tumors receiving immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs). By integrating blood RNA sequencing, SARS-CoV-2 serology, and interferon-γ release assessment, we chart the vaccine-induced immunity over a 6-month time frame. This paper examines the decision-making processes of a non-governmental organisation (NGO) during Typhoon Odette (Rai) in Palawan, Philippines. The typhoon, which struck during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, exacerbated vulnerabilities in the province, leading to the destruction of homes and livelihoods, disruptions in education, fatalities and damage to critical infrastructure. This chapter argues that parenting choices are a central force in the joint evolution of culture and economic outcomes. We present a framework in which parents-motivated by both their children’s future success and their own normative beliefs-choose parenting styles and transmit cultural traits responding to economic incentives. Values such as work ethic, patience, and religiosity are more likely to be instilled when their anticipated returns, economic or otherwise, are high. The interaction between parenting and economic conditions gives rise to endogenous cultural and economic stratification. This study analyzed the portrayal of disabilities in picturebooks that have received the Schneider Family Award, a well-known children’s literature award in the United States focused on disability representation. The purpose of the study was to conduct an intersectional analysis of these picturebooks to explore how characters are positioned across multiple categories such as disability, race/ethnicity, gender, class, age, and language. This dissertation presents a cohesive set of novel frameworks developed to address critical challenges in oncology data integration, representation learning, and clinical information extraction. The work encompasses four interconnected projects: MINDS (Multimodal Integration of Oncology Data System), HoneyBee (Harmonized ONcologY Biomedical Embedding Encoder), LLM Extraction (Large Language Model-based Extraction from Pathology Reports), and EAGLE (Embedding Analysis for Generalized Learning in Oncology). Effective treatment of skin wounds remains a clinical challenge owing to factors such as microbial infections, impaired fibroblast activity, disrupted angiogenesis, and collagen remodeling. In this study, we developed and evaluated novel curcumin–cyclodextrin hybrid nanoparticles (Cur/CD-HNPs) as a multifunctional platform for enhanced wound healing. Nanoparticles (NPs) were prepared via nanoprecipitation. Physicochemical and structural properties were systematically characterized by determining the encapsulation efficiency (EE), particle size, zeta potential, X-XRD, FTIR, SEM, in vitro release, and stability studies.
