The qualitative research conducted explores adolescent media literacy through the perspectives of middle school and high school educators, intending to understand students' ability to discern credible information. A niche venue of research around religious trauma and spiritual abuse has demonstrated adverse outcomes of individuals who feel manipulated or harmed by institutions or individuals holding an imbalance of religious power. While general claims are often made that religion is a positive force on health and psychological wellness, religious trauma is usually associated with PTSD, anxiety, depression, and other pathological symptoms. This manuscript aims to authenticate the presence of a species of wild bird: Northern Lapwing (Vanellus vanellus Linnaeus, 1758), which represents a first in the western steppes areas of Algeria. The sighting was recorded in the treated wastewater treatment plant west of the municipality of Mécheria. The phonological status of this species can be classified as a passing visitor. This presence can be justified by the food rules of the Northern Lapwing (Vanellus vanellus Linnaeus, 1758) which is insectivorous and finds in this area prey on which it feeds.

Dietary Organic Selenium Supplementation Improved Some Gross Morphological Parameters And Biochemical Characteristics Of Testes In Young Male Kids, Nadia Rahim, Moolchand Malhi, Asma Babar, Muhammad Awais Soomro, Shazia Rahim

Selenium (Se) plays a vital role in improving reproductive health in ruminants. This study evaluated the impact of Se supplementation on testicular health in young male goats. Twenty goats (2–3 months old, 8.5–10 kg) were randomly assigned to two groups: Control (C, n=10) receiving a basal diet (0.037 mg Se/kg) and Se-Yeast (SY, n=10) supplemented with 0.3 mg Se/kg diet. The trial lasted eight weeks. Results showed that testis weight was significantly higher in the SY group (26.8 ± 2.5 g) compared to C (22.4 ± 2.1 g, p < 0.05). Testis length, width, and circumference also increased significantly in SY goats (4.5 ± 0.3 cm, 2.9 ± 0.2 cm, and 7.4 ± 0.4 cm, respectively) compared to control (3.9 ± 0.4 cm, 2.5 ± 0.3 cm, and 6.7 ± 0.5 cm; p < 0.05). Serum cholesterol was higher in SY (135.27 ± 2.34 mg/dl) than in C (121.15 ± 8.74 mg/dl, p = 0.02), while triglycerides were lower (95.99 ± 1.37 vs. 114.38 ± 1.84 mg/dl, p = 0.0003). HDL increased (51.97 ± 2.10 vs. 45.02 ± 1.32 mg/dl, p = 0.03), and LDL decreased (54.23 ± 1.81 vs. 61.27 ± 1.56 mg/dl, p = 0.02) in SY group. Total serum protein rose significantly (8.14 ± 0.79 vs. 5.25 ± 0.06 mg/dl, p = 0.03), as did testosterone levels (1.95 ± 0.08 vs. 1.43 ± 0.06 ng/ml, p = 0.002). In conclusion, selenium supplementation significantly improved testicular morphology, lipid profile, protein levels, and testosterone, indicating enhanced reproductive health in goats.

This study examined the impact of blended learning on the self-directed learning and academic achievement of the first-year nursing students studying metabolic biochemistry. This quasi-experiment research recruited 150 first-year nursing students at one of the nursing college. A blended learning intervention, combining face-to-face instruction and various online activities, was implemented. Data were collected using a self-directed learning scale, pretest and posttest, and a final exam. Results indicated that blended learning significantly enhanced students' self-directed learning (t = -2.847, p = 0.005) and academic performance. This paper aims to study the questioning of in heteronormativity in early detective fiction by investigating the representation of homosexual family in the crime fiction series Holmes & Moriarity by Josh Lanyon. The study finds that the representations of the male detective and homosexual family are influenced by heteronormative standards. The selected texts raise questions about the conventions of early detective fiction that usually offer stereotypical representations of the male detective. Background: Significant gaps in guideline-directed medical therapy (GDMT) for heart failure (HF) stem from shortages of cardiologists and advanced HF providers, as well as a lack of optimal HF management knowledge among hospitalists. This study compared the impact of optimal medical therapy in HF (OMT-HF) certification on GDMT implementation and patient outcomes between an intervention group (IG) of hospitalists and a standard-of-care comparison group (SOC-CG).

In The Right to Know, Lani Watson forcefully argues in favor of recognizing epistemic rights to all humans. In this paper, we apply Watson’s framework to three hard cases. First, we consider interpersonal relationships and suggest that there is room to explore how epistemic rights bear on, e.g., whether parents can permissibly lie to or mislead their children by asserting the existence of Santa Claus. Second, we turn to social media platforms and contend that Watson’s framework is compatible with contrasting moderation policies and transparency requirements. Background: Parent-focused treatments are a promising approach for addressing youth anxiety outside of traditional therapist-delivered modalities. Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions (SPACE) has preliminarily demonstrated efficacy for reducing family accommodation (FA), a key treatment outcome for youth anxiety.

Objective: Since the mechanisms of SPACE remain relatively understudied, we examined youth-reported distress tolerance (DT), anxiety sensitivity (AS), and negative automatic thoughts as candidate mechanisms of SPACE using data from a previously conducted clinical trial.

This study examined Filipino parentification among eldest children enrolled as senior high school students at De La Salle University - Dasmariñas, focusing on its impact on friendships. Grounded in Role Theory and Attachment Theory, it explored how premature parental responsibilities shape social interactions using a qualitative phenomenological approach with semi-structured interviews. Findings indicate that eldest children often assume caregiving, emotional support, and decision-making roles, fostering maturity and resilience, but also leading to trust issues, emotional distancing, and difficulties in maintaining friendships. Corrosion in galvanized iron pipes (GIPs) poses significant challenges to water distribution systems, leading to structural degradation and public health risks. This study developed and assessed the efficacy of Mangifera indica (mango) and Malus pumila (apple) peel extracts as active ingredients in a corrosion inhibitor spray for galvanized iron pipes, using maceration to prepare 70% concentration extracts and testing them on GIPs immersed in 3 M hydrochloric acid for eight days. Bacterial contamination of chicken meat poses significant health and economic risks globally. This study explored the potential of Avocado Peel Extract (APE) as a natural antimicrobial agent to inhibit microbial load. Raw chicken meat samples were treated with varying APE concentrations (10%, 1%, 0.1%) and a negative control. Microbial Load Count (MLC), measured in colony-forming units per gram (CFU/g) via Aerobic Plate Count (APC) after 24-hour incubation at 37°C showed the following mean values: Control (1.73E+09 CFU/g), 10% APE (1.83E+09 CFU/g), 1% APE (3.03E+09 CFU/g), 0.1% APE (2.17E+09 CFU/g). Once declared biologically dead, the Pasig River now shows signs of aquatic life but remains heavily polluted with heavy metals like lead (Pb), which accumulate in fish and pose health risks. Despite this, many communities still rely on the river for food, particularly tilapia. This study addresses public health concerns by evaluating whether common cooking methods—frying, grilling, and steaming can reduce Pb levels in tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) from the Pasig River to safe levels for consumption.
