Few reports have highlighted the rare presence of somatic ATRX variants in clinically aggressive, metastatic pheochromocytoma/paraganglioma (PCC/PGL); however, none have addressed detailed clinical presentation (including biochemistry and imaging) and management of these patients. Here, we address these clinical features and management based on four PCC patients with somatic ATRX variants from our National Institutes of Health PCC/PGL cohort. The past twenty years, British academic psychiatry has made significant scientific advances in neurosciences, psychopharmacology, imaging and genetics with patients increasingly being involved as research partners. However, this progress has coincided with marked structural deterioration. Despite a 50% expansion in medical school places and rising mental health needs, full-time academic psychiatrists numbers fell from 330 in 2004 to 206 in 2023. This reduction has constrained research capacity, limited educational opportunities, and exacerbated regional disparities. The current academic landscape is precarious. A new scorpion species, Alpiscorpius huyukensis sp. n., is described from the western foothills of the Sultan Mountains, Konya Province, in the Aegean Region of western Turkey, based on morphological characters. The species is assigned to the genus Alpiscorpius Gantenbein et al., 1999, due to the presence of three trichobothria in the em series on the external surface of the pedipalp patella. The Formosan sika deer (Cervus nippon taiouanus), an endemic Taiwanese subspecies, holds a pivotal role in local conservation. This study addresses a significant knowledge gap by establishing population-specific reference intervals (RIs) for this species, as existing RIs are based on limited captive populations and may not accurately reflect the health of semi-free-ranging cohorts. We analyzed 632 sampling events from 232 healthy adult deer within Kenting National Park over 12 years (2013–2024). The effect of vamorolone, the first dissociative corticosteroid for Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD), at the mineralocorticoid receptor (MR) was investigated in the Phase 1 mechanistic LIONHEART study and using serum samples from boys with DMD in the pivotal VISION-DMD trial. In LIONHEART, 30 healthy adult males were randomized 1:1:1 to vamorolone 20 mg/kg, eplerenone 200 mg, or no treatment arms. A fludrocortisone challenge was administered between –9 h and 24 h after treatment. Languages vary in their syntactic (e.g. word order in sentences), lexical (e.g. presence of specific word classes), and morphological (e.g. inflectional or derivational forms of words) properties. This cross-linguistic variation in language typology influences the manifestation of agrammatic symptoms. However, most theoretical models of agrammatism are based on English and a few European languages, limiting their generalizability. This narrow focus neglects the rich syntactic, lexical and morphological variations available in languages globally. Clinically, the lack of language-specific characteristics of agrammatic impairments limits translational potential for precise and improved diagnosis. INTRODUCTION: Millions of patients receive general anaesthesia every year with either propofol total intravenous anaesthesia (TIVA) or inhaled volatile anaesthesia (INVA). It is currently unknown which of these techniques is superior in relation to patient experience, safety and clinical outcomes. The primary aims of this trial are to determine (1) whether patients undergoing (a) major inpatient surgery, (b) minor inpatient surgery or (c) outpatient surgery have a superior quality of recovery after INVA or TIVA and (2) whether TIVA confers no more than a small (0.2%) increased risk of definite intraoperative awareness than INVA.

Coumarin-nitrogen heterocyclic compounds (e.g. quinoline, acridine, and phthalazine) were synthesized by facile reactions and elucidated by FTIR, 1H, and 13C-NMR analyses, which showed consistency with the expected structures. Coumarin-quinoline (drug A)- and coumarin-acridine (drug B)-loaded electrospun PMMA/PVP nanofibrous scaffolds were fabricated using electrospinning techniques. Results showed a successful PMMA/PVP blend, which formed the matrix that was used as the main scaffold for drug loading/release. Seasonal wetlands help meet the biological needs of various autumn migrating and wintering waterfowl species in North America (Reinecke et al. 1989). Management of seasonally flooded impoundments often uses soil and vegetation disturbances and water management to promote early succession plants that produce abundant seeds for foraging birds (Low and Bellrose 1944, Kross et al. 2008). Introduction: This study quantitively compared the efficiency of removing a novel radiopaque smear layer using different activation instruments. Methods: 60 extracted human mandibular premolars with single canals were decoronated, accessed, instrumented with rotary files to the working length, and radiographed. The root canal was filled with a solution containing insoluble lead salts, in order to impregnate the smear layer, making it radiopaque. All teeth were radiographed to confirm the presence of a radiopaque smear layer. Approximately 30-35% of people with epilepsy experience seizures despite taking antiseizure medications. Recurrent seizures that are independent of status epilepticus can be associated with neuronal injury and structural changes to the brain, as well as diminished cognitive function, mood, and quality of life. A treatment that alters the underlying biology of epilepsy, thereby reducing the seizure burden and its attendant consequences, would be of great value in preventing these detrimental effects. Background: Somatostatin receptor 2 (SSTR2), a G protein-coupled receptor, is overexpressed in multiple malignancies, including hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Low-dose methotrexate (10-25mg/week) is widely recognized as a safe and effective treatment for various autoimmune disorders. While toxicity from low dose methotrexate is uncommon it can lead to severe complications like pancytopenia. We present a case of a 68-year-old male with a history of steroid-resistant Polymyalgia Rheumatica on methotrexate (20 mg weekly) and prednisone. He presented to the emergency room with oral mucosal lesions and reduced oral intake. Upon evaluation, he was found to have pancytopenia and transaminitis, raising concern for methotrexate toxicity. However, how mating behaviors, aggression, and mating success simultaneously change as individuals age in natural populations remains understudied.
