Bacillus subtilis is applied as a biofertilizer, biocontrol agent, and probiotic in agriculture, and is also used for industrial synthesis of proteins and peptides. These applications can be combined by using B. subtilis to synthesize plant health-promoting peptides in culture or to deliver them to roots via seed treatments. To facilitate the use of B. subtilis as a cell factory, we tested different media, temperatures, and growth phases to optimize ectopic expression of a Plant Elicitor Peptide from soybean (GmPEP3) that enhances seedling growth. Author Howard Phillips (H.P.) Lovecraft (1890-1937) of Rhode Island was a transformative figure in American fiction. Hailed by one modern writer as “the twentieth-century horror story’s dark and baroque prince,” Lovecraft wrote over sixty-five works of fiction representing—alongside Clark Ashton Smith, Robert Bloch, and David H. Keller—“the golden age of weird fiction.” Lovecraft, however, enjoyed only modest commercial success during his lifetime, writing for amateur journals and pulp magazines such as The Vagrant, Amazing Stories, and Weird Tales. Clonal hematopoiesis (CH) is defined by the expansion of a lineage of genetically identical cells in blood. Genetic lesions that confer a fitness advantage, such as leukemogenic point mutations or mosaic chromosomal alterations (mCAs), are frequent mediators of CH. However, recent analyses of both single cell-derived colonies of hematopoietic cells and population sequencing cohorts have revealed CH frequently occurs in the absence of known driver genetic lesions. This scholarly project evaluated whether integrating the Epic Stroke Narrator into inpatient code stroke protocols could improve documentation of last known well time (LKWT) and reduce time to intervention. Research shows that refugee youth in high-income countries frequently suffer from trauma-associated disorders such as post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), depression and anxiety. The specific focus explores muscle performance and flexibility, heat acclimation for performance, cardiovascular and respiratory health parameters, all-cause mortality, endocrine response, inflammatory modulators, and exercise recovery. The overarching mechanisms underpinning the health and fitness benefits attributed to sauna use stem from hyperthermia, which activates thermoregulatory cardiovascular, neuroendocrine, and cytoprotective responses that promote homeostasis and adaptation to stress. While addressing feeding challenges comprehensively because multiple contributing factors, the social-emotional dimension is often overlooked. This paper proposes a relationship-based feeding guideline to help occupational therapists incorporate this critical component. Centered on the child-caregiver dyad, the guideline prioritizes supporting the developmental, social-emotional, and environmental needs of the child.
