In this study, cotton spunlace nonwoven fabrics with four different basis weights were coated with graphene oxide (GO) by conventional dip coating method which is one of the most simple and effortless process in textile industry. The graphene oxide coated cotton nonwoven fabrics were immersed in an aqueous sodium dithionite solution in order to obtain reduced graphene oxide (RGO) coated cotton spunlace nonwoven fabrics. The obtained nonwoven fabrics became electrically conductive with very low surface electrical resistivity of 5.98 × 102 W/sq for the 70 g/m2 basis weight nonwoven fabric. In this investigation, a new nanocomposite as a nanocarrier based on functionalized graphene oxide was synthesized by reaction of tetraethylenepentamine and chlorosulfonic acid with functional groups on the surface of GO. The synthesized nanocomposite was characterized by FT-IR, XRD TGA, FE-SEM, EDAX, TEM, and AFM analysis. To explore the potential of nanocomposites in drug delivery, the loading and releases of quercetin as an anticancer drug were investigated. Chemical absorption of CO2 into aqueous amine solutions using a nonstirred bubble column was experimentally investigated. The performance of CO2 absorption of four different primary and secondary amines including monoethanolamine (MEA), piperazine (PZ), 2-piperidineethanol (2PE), and homopiperazine (HPZ) were compared. The effects of initial concentration of amine, the inlet mole fraction of CO2, and solution temperature on the rate of CO2 absorption and CO2 loading (mol CO2/mol amine) were studied in the range of 0.02-1 M, 0.10-0.15, and 25-40 °C, respectively. Polydentate, unsymmetrical, and multi metal ion sensing Schiff bases comprised of ferrocenecarboxaldehyde attached azomethine group at one side and aromatic aldehyde linked imine on the other side have been synthesized. Cumulative addition of different metal salts solution to receptors solution, changes the electronic spectra contrarily and for the addition of Cu2+ ions, generation of MLCT charge transfer band responsible for the coordination of metal ion with a receptor is observed. In this study, the synthesis of dimeric disulfide-Schiff bases was carried out using two methods. The structures of the obtained Schiff bases were elucidated by various spectroscopic methods as well as elemental analysis. The Schiff base derivative compounds (3a-6) were screened for in vitro antibacterial activity against multidrug-resistant microorganisms using microdilution method. All the tested compounds showed varying inhibition zones against the pathogens. According to MIC results, the compound 2 was shown strong inhibitory activity against all the tested microorganisms compared to antibiotics. The essential oil (EO) of Cota tinctoria var. tinctoria was analyzed using GC-FID / MS. A total of 51 compounds were determined from this taxon, accounting for 99.79% in hydrodistillation. Monoterpenes were the primary chemical class for the volatile organic compounds in the EO (36.1%, 13 compounds). Borneol (18.1%), camphor (14.9%), and β-pinene (11.3%) were the major components in the EO of C. tinctoria var. tinctoria. The antimicrobial activities of EO and n-hexane, acetonitrile, methanol, and water solvent extracts of the taxon were screened in vitro against ten microorganisms. In this study, olive oil residue (OR) biomass was pyrolyzed in the presence of bulk MgO (B-MgO), nano-MgO (N-MgO), bulk ZnO (B-ZnO)), and nano-ZnO (N- ZnO) metal oxides at different temperatures (400, 600, and 800 ºC). Significant results were obtained in terms of synthesis gas formation and CO2 reduction. Coordination-driven self-assembly of nickel (II) ions with equimolar amounts of 1, 10 phenanthroline, and benzoic acid was used to create homonuclear nickel (II) MOF-type supramolecule. Single crystal X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, differential scanning calorimetry, photoluminescence measurement, FT-IR, UV-visible spectroscopy, and nitrogen physisorption measurement were used to characterize the compound. The single crystal X-ray diffraction study reveals that the synthesized compound is two-dimensional with pores in the structure. Therefore, these drugs require improvement in solubility and dissolution rate in formulation development, especially in solid dosage forms such as hydrogels and capsules. In this work, the kinetic electrochemical degradation of Cartap (CT) (in Padan 95 SP) at boron-doped diamond (BDD) electrode was investigated. This study indicated that the degradation of CT underwent both direct and indirect oxidations. Water matrices can either accelerate or inhibit the removal efficiency of CT: adding 15 mM Cl- improved kCT from 0.039 min-1 to 0.054 min-1 (increased by 38%), while kCT decreased by 61.5% and 64% when increasing the concentration of HCO3- and humic acid (HA) to 15 mM and 15 mg L-1, respectively. D-arabinitol is a sugar alcohol that is a typical metabolite of Candida species. The hydroxy group owned by D-arabinitol can function as a reducing agent that can reduce Ag+ to AgNPs. The resulting colloid is further stabilized by the addition of a capping agent. The capping agent used in this study was a combination of chitosan 1%(w/w) and PEG 6000 1% (w/w) (2:1) v/v. Ketoprofen (KET) is an active pharmaceutical compound that has pain relieving and antipyretic effects. Its determination in body fluids and environmental waters is important due to widespread use of the compound. In this study, a selective and reliable method has been developed for the determination of ketoprofen in water and artificial serum using molecularly imprinted polymers (MIPs) as a solid phase extraction sorbent prior to HPLC-DAD detection. We performed a theoretical study, at the BLYP/aug-cc-pVDZ theoretical level, of the mechanisms of H-transfer between biologically relevant tautomers of cytosine and guanine. The analysis of the ground- and excited state energy barriers of the conversions showed that in some cases they are lower as compared to the ground state reactions. The inclusion of one water molecule as a catalyst in the oxo-amino form of cytosine and guanine drastically changes the mechanism of the reactions in the ground as well as in the excited state. Polymer blending is one of the advanced technologies to attain polymeric material with tailored properties. In this work, the miscibility of Poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) and Polystyrene (PS) blend in benzene was investigated by employing various techniques such as FTIR spectroscopy, viscosity measurement technique, light scattering techniques, DSC and TGA techniques over an extended range of concentrations, compositions, and temperatures. The results revealed that there exist hydrogen bonding and hydrodynamic interactions which led these polymers to get miscible to a large extent.
