Neuroendocrine prostate cancer (NEPC) is a highly aggressive and lethal subtype of prostate cancer (PCa) that often emerges in response to androgen receptor pathway inhibitors (ARPIs), which are widely used in treating metastatic castration-resistant and hormone-sensitive prostate cancer. The incidence of NEPC is increasing, yet effective therapeutic strategies remain limited due to an incomplete understanding of its molecular drivers. Through transcriptomic analyses of human prostate tumor samples, we identified the histone lysine demethylase KDM4A as uniquely overexpressed in human and mouse NEPC compared to prostate adenocarcinoma. Diarrheal diseases caused by Salmonella sp. and Shigella sp. are among the most significant public health challenges worldwide, especially among children. To identify these bacteria, Salmonella-Shigella (SS) and Xylose Lysine Deoxycholate (XLD) agar media are used, which are selective and differential for Salmonella sp. and Shigella sp. Although these media share similar properties and functions for growing Salmonella sp. and Shigella sp., results from previous studies differ from those obtained in tests conducted by the Department of Microbiology, Faculty of Medicine, University of Indonesia. Silicone-based implants have been widely used in breast reconstruction but have also been associated with poorly understood complications, including pathologic foreign body responses such as capsular contracture. In this study, we leveraged 3D-printing technology to generate silicone-based implants in a novel, anatomically relevant, prepectoral rat model. We used this model to evaluate the response to an extracellular matrix-based product: ovine-derived reinforced tissue matrix (RTM). Two-piece negative molds were developed through computer-aided design and 3D-printed. The molds were filled with various polydimethylsiloxane mixtures and dip-coated to fabricate implants. Epigenetic inhibitors exhibit powerful antiproliferative and anticancer activities. However, cellular responses to small-molecule epigenetic inhibition are heterogeneous and dependent on factors such as the genetic background and metabolic state of cells, as well as on-/off-target engagement of individual small-molecule compounds. The molecular study of the extent of this heterogeneity often measures changes in a single cell line. To more comprehensively profile the effects of small-molecule perturbations and their influence on heterogeneous cellular responses, we present a molecular resource based on the quantification of chromatin, proteome, and transcriptome remodeling due to histone deacetylase inhibitors (HDACi) in non-isogenic cell lines. Clustering plays a central role in uncovering latent structure within both temporal and visual data. It enables critical insights in various domains including healthcare, finance, surveillance, autonomous systems, and many more. With the growing volume and complexity of time-series and image-based datasets, there is an increasing demand for robust, flexible, and scalable clustering algorithms. Although these modalities differ—time-series being inherently sequential and vision data being spatial—they exhibit common challenges such as high dimensionality, noise, variability in alignment and scale, and the need for interpretable groupings. Beyond The Rash: Cutaneous Peripheral T-Cell Lymphoma As A Diagnostic Pitfall In Primary Care, Jared Hensley, Aura Calderon, Blake Martin, Cristina Kochi, Andres Suarez Parraga

Cutaneous manifestations of T-cell lymphomas may resemble common dermatologic or infectious conditions, increasing the risk of delayed recognition. We report a 78-year-old woman with known peripheral T-cell lymphoma (PTCL) who presented with a rapidly progressive, diffuse erythematous rash accompanied by cervical lymphadenopathy. Initial evaluation prioritized more common etiologies; however, inpatient medicine broadened the differential diagnosis, prompting early hematology and oncology consultation. Contrast-enhanced CT of the neck demonstrated multiple enlarged, partially necrotic left cervical lymph nodes consistent with disease progression. After multidisciplinary discussions and consideration of prognosis, the patient elected palliative-focused management with oncology follow-up. This case underscores the importance of …

Land cover data are commonly used to model the terrestrial carbon (C) sink, yet these data have wide margins of error that significantly alter estimates of global C storage. Here we demonstrate this data vulnerability in grasslands, which are critical to C cycling but whose estimated distribution has varied by >50 million km (3.5-42% of the Earth's terrestrial surface). Comparing multiple high-resolution land cover products with expertly annotated grassland data from six continents, we show sources of mapping error and discuss C implications based on 2023 United Nations (UN) FAO estimates. Japanese encephalitis virus (JEV) is a mosquito-borne zoonotic orthoflavivirus that poses a significant global health threat. It causes severe neuroinflammatory disease in humans and reproductive failure in swine. Because of the broad host range and cell tropism of JEV, identifying animal cell lines resistant to infection has been a persistent challenge. In this study, we demonstrate that Madin–Darby bovine kidney (MDBK) cells are resistant to JEV infection yet remain fully permissive to viral replication when transfected with viral genomic RNA. Using immunoblotting, immunofluorescence, and flow cytometry, we show that MDBK cells, unlike the highly susceptible baby hamster kidney (BHK-21) cells …
