Attachment In Adolescents: Exploring Influential Factors In High School Students, Nurşen Korkmaz, Emine Altun Yılmaz

This descriptive cross-sectional study was conducted with 584 students aged 14-18 attending high school in Tokat province in the 2023-2024 academic year in order to determine attachment and influencing factors in high school students. Data collection tools included a Descriptive Information Form and the Inventory of Parent and Peer Attachment (IPPA). Data were analyzed on the SPSS 24.0 software by using descriptive statistics, t-test, One-Way ANOVA, Mann-Whitney U, and Kruskal-Wallis tests. Background: High pre-pregnancy BMI, excessive gestational weight gain, and postpartum weight retention are modifiable risk factors for childhood obesity, but are often studied singly, limiting understanding of their combined impact. Our objective was to characterize maternal weight trajectories across pregnancy until 18 months’ postpartum and examine associations with child overweight or obesity. Methods: We analyzed data from 299 mother-child dyads enrolled in the Play & Grow study (Ohio, USA). Mother’s weight and height were measured at study enrollment at 18 months’ postpartum. This article offers an ecological analysis of Malika Mokeddem's novel N'Zid (2001), moving beyond postcolonial and anthropocentric interpretations. It centers on the protagonist Nora's individuation, arguing this process is intrinsically linked to her evolving relationship with the aquatic environment from which she emerges. The article aims to situate N'Zid within an ecological perspective, particularly relevant in the Anthropocene, an era compelling a reassessment of humanity's place. Echoing Bruno Latour, addressing inter-relationality is essential as the stable physical framework of the Moderns becomes unstable. An increase in the occurrence of large, high severity wildfires in the western Pacific Northwest (PNW), USA, has created an urgent need for science to better inform forest management and policy decisions to maintain source water quality in the region. Poa annua L. is a widespread and persistent weed in managed turfgrass systems, exhibiting both annual and short-lived perennial growth habits. Effective management requires an integrated approach, with chemical herbicides remaining a primary tool. This review outlines the current landscape of chemical control strategies, including pre-emergence and post-emergence herbicide options, plant growth regulators, and emerging chemistries. Herbicide resistance in Poa annua continues to pose a significant challenge, with confirmed cases spanning multiple modes of action. Consequently, sustainable management depends on rotating herbicide classes, using mixtures and sequences of treatments, and integrating nonchemical tactics.

Snapping shrimp damp the shock waves they produce and use as weapons with a helmet-like structure termed the orbital hood. Here, we ask how structural and material properties contribute to shock wave damping by orbital hoods in Alpheus heterochaelis. Using tensile mechanical testing, we find orbital hoods are approximately half as stiff as carapace and have twice the capacity for viscous energy dissipation. Microstructural features probably contribute to tissue-specific mechanical properties: the endocuticles of orbital hoods have almost twice as many lamellae as those of carapaces despite being half as thick, suggesting a mechanism for enhanced material mobility underlying …

Background: The FDA’s October 2025 guidance proposes waiving Phase 3 comparative efficacy studies for biosimilars when analytical and pharmacokinetic similarity are demonstrated.

Methods: We conducted a net present value (NPV) analysis comparing traditional biosimilar development pathways (with Phase 3 comparative efficacy studies) to streamlined pathways utilizing FDA’s Phase 3 waiver framework. The model incorporates industry-benchmarked cost data (Phase 3 studies: $20–28M), development timelines (Phase 3 duration: 1–3 years). Economic outcomes were evaluated across three monoclonal antibody biosimilar programs representing high-, moderate-, and lower-complexity scenarios. Sensitivity analysis evaluated parameter variation across realistic ranges.

Over the past six decades, the labor force participation of working mothers in the US has grown significantly. This study is motivated by the growing trend of mothers’ labor force participation and examines the effect of maternal work intensity on child health. It employs the Panel Study of Income Dynamics’ intergenerational survey data and instrumental variable (IV) probit and ordered probit regression techniques. The results show that maternal hours worked has a positive and statistically significant effect on the likelihood of having a healthy childhood, although the estimated magnitude is modest. Guided by the health belief model, the purpose of this basic qualitative study was to explore how parents’ perceived severity of a child’s symptoms, parental beliefs about the causes of autism, and perceived mental and physical health outcomes of caregiving influence parents’ intention to seek services for children aged 1–10 years diagnosed with ASD in India. Vigorous debate has erupted over the trustworthiness of scientific research findings in a number of domains. The question "what makes research findings trustworthy?" elicits different answers depending on whether the emphasis is on research integrity and ethics, research methods, transparency, inclusion, assessment and peer review, or scholarly communication. Each provides partial insight. We offer a systems approach that focuses on whether the research is accountable, evaluable, well-formulated, has been evaluated, controls for bias, reduces error, and whether the claims are warranted by the evidence. Objectives: This study aimed to determine associations between hypothyroidism during pregnancy and selected maternal and neonatal outcomes. Methods: A retrospective, cohort study was conducted between January 2018 and December 2020 at the two main tertiary hospitals in Muscat, Oman. The study included 408 Omani pregnant women aged 18–45 years. Participants were divided into two groups: those diagnosed with overt or subclinical hypothyroidism (n = 201; exposed group) and those with normal thyroid function (n = 207; unexposed group), matched for relevant variables. This study investigated the phytochemical constituents and biological activities of Horsfieldia macrothyrsa leaves to identify their bioactive compounds. Methanol extracts were fractionated using n-hexane and ethyl acetate, followed by silica gel column chromatography with a stepwise polarity gradient. From 100 g of powdered leaves, three major    compounds were successfully isolated from the ethyl acetate fraction: 1-(2,4,6-trihydroxyphenyl)dodecan-1-one (1), sesamin (2), and β-sitosterol (3). Their chemical structures were confirmed using UV, IR, LC–MS/MS, and NMR  spectroscopy.
