present study was to investigate the prevalence and characteristics of supernumerary teeth of 13-15 year old children
in Makassar. This descriptive study involved 13-15 year old children who were present during the oral examination

The study aimed to determine the effect of prickly pear cactus extract in inhibiting the growth of Staphylococcus
aureus, Streptococcus mutans and Candida albicans. The laboratory experimental study using diffusion method. The
concentration of the prickly pear cactus fruit extract used was 25%, 50%, 75%, 100%, whereas bacterial samples
derived from the laboratory of Microbiology, Faculty of Medicine, University of Hasanuddin. The observation of

Microbicidal mechanism with producing free radical superoxide is one of neutrophil response to the bacterial
invasion. When overproducted, the free radical superoxide greater than antioxidan defense system and destroyed the
cell itself. P.gingivalis had been knowed as the major bacteria that induce periodontal inflammation. These bacteria
can stimulated neutrophil activities. This was aimed to determinate the superoxide production from neutrophil
stimulated with P.gingivalis. Neutrophil as samples were isolated from subject who fulfill the selected criteria. The

The aim of this study was to determine the effectiveness of Aloe vera extract in inhibiting the growth of
Staphylococcus aureus and to measure the minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) on the growth of the bacteria.
The method using the manufacture of aloe extract, extract dilution, purified Staphylococcus aureus, MIC test and
view the zone of inhibition. The results show that the (MIC) of Aloe extract was at concentration of 0.25. After a

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the microorganisms found on used toothbrushes. In this study 25
toothbrushes were investigated, 10 toothbrushes were used less than 3 months, 10 toothbrushes have been used for
3-6 months, and 5 toothbrushes have been used for more than 6 months. Some gram-positive coccus, such as
Staphylococcus, Streptococcus and Diplococcus. The results showed there were microbial harbored of used
toothbrushes. Toothbrushes that have been used for 6 months were harbored more microorganisms than the

Tooth mobility is often experienced by patients, especially patients with periodontal disease. Periodontal disease
causes the loss of tooth support so the tooth becomes mobile. The signs of periodontal disease or periodontitis
include occasional bleeding gums, bluish red gums, shiny, and tooth mobility. Splint is used to unite one or more
teeth to form a single entity so that it can reduce tooth mobility. There are some splints used as supporting therapy

Orthodontic tooth movement is a complex process, in which cellular and chemical
changes occur. When a force is applied onto a tooth, it causes tissue injury,
compression of periodontal ligament and bone deformation. These procedures lead to
