Myeloid leukemia of Down syndrome (ML-DS) is a distinct form of pediatric acute myeloid leukemia (AML) that responds to reduced-intensity chemotherapy, as compared with non-DS AML that requires intensive chemotherapy and often stem cell transplant. While most patients with ML-DS have a favorable prognosis, outcomes for those with refractory or relapsed disease are dismal. Children's Oncology Group study AAML1531 introduced the use of measurable residual disease by multiparameter flow cytometry at the end of the first course of induction therapy (EOI-1 MRD) for risk stratification of treatment intensity. Purpose: There is growing scientific interest in incorporating patient-reported outcomes (PROs) in early phase dose-finding oncology trials (DFOTs) to assess tolerability, inform dose selection, and guide later stage trial design. However, research indicates that PRO objectives in DFOTs are often unclear. The Incorporating Patient-Reported Outcomes in Dose-Finding Trials-Research Objectives Recommendations (OPTIMISE-ROR) project was established to support trialists to effectively incorporate PROs into DFOTs.

The purpose of this quantitative quasi-experimental pretest-posttest study was to determine whether there is a significant difference in the growth in reading proficiency among third-grade struggling readers receiving different reading intervention programs: the University of Florida Literacy Institute (UFLI) or i-Ready curriculum-based interventions. The study is important because the National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) has reported a concerning decline in literacy rates, particularly among students with dyslexia. The purpose of this dissertation was to explore the relationships between differentiation of self (DoS), family unit functioning (FUF), and posttraumatic growth (PTG) in adult female domestic minor sex trafficking (DMST) survivors in the United States. The purpose of this phenomenological study was to delineate factors that impact women combat veterans with Complex Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (C-PTSD) after deployment and completion of military service. The theory guiding this was Strauss and Corbin’s grounded theory. The conceptual framework guiding the study was Crenshaw's intersectionality theory. This quantitative study examined the feasibility of categorizing individuals by English-language competency using word embeddings derived from language samples obtained from these individuals and by viewing word embeddings as a psycholinguistic construct. Individual differences modulate our thoughts and emotional experiences, yet how thought and emotion interact in daily life remains largely unclear. We leverage alexithymia, a trait reflecting atypical emotional awareness, to reveal these interactions in naturalistic settings. Using multi-dimensional experiencesampling via smartphones, we captured moment-to-moment thought patterns and concurrent affective states (valence, arousal, stress) in people’s daily life (N = 190 undergraduate students, age range = 18 to 36, 159 females). Using Principal Component Analysis and Linear Mixed Models, we identified four thought dimensions that relate differently to these affective states: future-self orientation, intrusive distraction, sensory engagement, and task-focus. The porous silicon (PSi) substrate was accurately synthesized using photoelectrochemical etching. A Nanofilm gallium nitride (GaN) was then precisely deposited on this PSi substrate using pulsed laser deposition (PLD). The x-ray diffraction (XRD) investigation revealed the GaN layer's distinct crystalline structure along the (002) plane, with a precise crystallite size of 21.57 nm. This precision in the deposition process enhanced both the surface morphology and film quality. This study aims to optimize the operational variables influencing the incorporation of Hesperidin nanoparticles (HSP NPs) into poly(lactic acid)/poly(butylene adipate-co-terephthalate) (PLA/PBAT) for manufacturing mixed matrix membranes (MMMs) for oily wastewater treatment. An optimization method was employed to determine the optimal values for key process factors to achieve specific flux and rejection rates exceeding required levels. The characterization of raffia palm fibre (RPF) for reinforcement in polymer composite for specialized applications was studied. The fibres were treated with NaOH solution and subjected to a tensile strength test.
