Financial Structure And Entrepreneurship, Adam Samborski
Studia i Materiały Wydział Zarządzania Uniwersytet Warszawski
The problem of mutual relations between the financial structure and entrepreneurship is discussed in the paper. The author took the view that a well-organized financial system ensures the proper functioning of the economy at the macroeconomic level. A well-organized financial system also determines the functioning of economic entities at the microeconomic level. It can liberate and support entrepreneurial activities. However, they may also be their obstacle. The financial structure of the Polish economy was referred to the financial structure of the economies of Great Britain and Denmark, ie the European Union countries, whose ecosystems of entrepreneurship were rated the best …

Analysis Of Tweets Mentioning Scholarly Works From An Institutional Repository, Ashley D.R. Sergiadis
ETSU Faculty Works
Altmetrics derived from Twitter have potential benefits for institutional repository (IR) stakeholders (faculty, students, administrators, and academic libraries) when metrics aggregators (Altmetric, Plum Analytics) are integrated with IRs. There is limited research on tweets mentioning works in IRs and how the results impact IR stakeholders, specifically libraries. In order to address this gap in the literature, the author conducted a content analysis of tweets tracked by a metrics aggregator (Plum X Metrics) in a Digital Commons IR. The study found that the majority of tweets were neutral in attitude, intended for a general audience, included no hashtags, and were written …

This paper explores the use of strategic communication for nation building purposes in Catalonia after the approval of the Second Statute of Autonomy in 1979. During this period, the Generalitat de Catalunya, Catalonia’s self-government political organization, has used the high degree of autonomy in a number of areas involving culture, communications or education, among others, to enhance a Catalan identity opposed to the Spanish identity. Soft power approaches – mainly the promotion of Catalan language, culture, sports and symbols – and the implementation of linguistic laws have resulted in a positive climate of opinion concerning an inclusive Catalan identity in …

Over-Education Among Doctorate Holders In The Korean Labor Market, Kihong Park, Dooseok Jang, Hazrul I. Shahiri
Asia-Pacific Social Science Review
Most prior research addressing the topic of educational mismatch focuses on university graduates, while the analysis of microdata on doctorate holders has received relatively little attention in the literature. Using Korean survey of Careers and Mobility of Doctorate Holders (KCDH), this paper attempts to examine the incidence and wage effects of over-education among the most highly educated workers (i.e., doctorate holders) in the Korean labor market. Overall, the major findings of this study confirm the findings of existing studies. The analysis reveals a worrisome situation in which a non-negligible proportion of doctorate holders face over-education associated with a significant wage …

Civil Society And Domestic Politics In International Relations: Lessons From Global Climate Governance, Jinhyun Lee, Brendan Howe
Asia-Pacific Social Science Review
The creation of United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), seemed to place climate norm front and center in terms of global governance. Yet it was not until Paris in 2015 that 195 countries finally reached an agreement on further cooperation. The Paris Agreement opened a new phase in global climate governance by replacing the top-down manner of centrally imposed targets and timetables of the Kyoto Protocol, with the institutionalization of a voluntary, decentralized bottom-up “Pledge and Review” system. Thus, understanding how each Party state responds to climate norms and why it responds such ways is essential to further …
