Book Reviews, William W. Cook, Edwin D. Dickinson, Joseph H. Drake, Wayne C. Williams Jun 1921

Book Reviews, William W. Cook, Edwin D. Dickinson, Joseph H. Drake, Wayne C. Williams

Michigan Law Review

This is a book that every lawyer should read and every law student should be required to read. It is the culminating work of a masterly mind that for over fifty years has been studying governments, ancient and modern,' and meantime the writer has had the practical advantage of holding high and responsible offices, including that of British Ambassador to the United States. Viscount Bryce speaks plainly of American national, state and municipal shortcomings in government, especially the last, but it is done in a kindly vein. He is a friend of America and gives us credit for much.

St. Louis College Bulletin (Volume 2, Issue 8, Edition 1), St. Mary's University

The Rattler (Previous issues)

Volume 2, Issue 8 of The Rattler congratulates the graduating class and reports on several important events at the college. On April 24, Mr. Paul G. Villaret, cashier of the Central Trust Company—San Antonio’s largest bank—gave the students an instructive talk on banking. The Musical Association held its annual public recital, and the Rt. Rev. Bishop visited the chapel to administer the Sacrament of Confirmation. The issue also includes further discussion of the Great War and reports that Chaminade Hall is nearly complete. History Of The Churches Of Louisville With Special Reference To Slavery., Homer E. Wickenden May 1921

History Of The Churches Of Louisville With Special Reference To Slavery., Homer E. Wickenden

Electronic Theses and Dissertations

In the one hundred and forty years of Louisville's existence, it has grown from a log cabin settlement with no churches to a city with 269 churches and church property valued at over $30,000,000. It is impossible to measure the moral and religious force that they have exerted on the city. It can best be appreciated when one thinks of what the city would be without them. Few of us would care to live in such a city. In the field of education, Louisville churches have contributed much. Some of the first schools in the city were conducted by ministers, …
