Kimberley is a mining town in South Africa that has witnessed increased property values over the years. This study aimed to establish the factors contributing to the increase in residential property value in Kimberley. A quantitative research approach was used to attain the research objectives. Data were collected from 200 participants: landlords, tenants, estate agents, and property investors. Data was analysed through descriptive and inferential statistics using Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) software. Green buildings were developed to reduce the negative impact of construction on occupants, communities, and the environment, while also improving contractor productivity and profit margins. However, construction companies have documented instances of rework in green buildigs, despite the advantages and potential of sustainable building designs. Workplace stress in the construction sector is reported to have negative implications for employees and work practices. Although much literature exists on workplace stress, one relatively unexplored area within the field, is the reporting of stress-related concerns. This study investigated the hesitancy to report workplace stress from a sample of construction managers in Ireland. Using semi-structured interviews and interpretative phenomenological analysis, 25 construction managers were interviewed about their reluctance to report workplace stress to their employers. This study explores the relationship between urban form, green infrastructure, and the Urban Heat Island (UHI) effect in Manchester's Transit-Oriented Development (TOD) neighbourhoods: Manchester Piccadilly and East Didsbury. The research investigates how urban density, characterised by deep street canyons and lack of green spaces, influences the intensity of UHI effects. Land Surface Temperature (LST) and Normalised Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) were mapped using remote sensing techniques to identify spatial patterns of heat intensity and vegetation coverage, respectively. Migrant workers face vulnerability and unique mental health challenges in their host countries. Housing designs may affect the residents’ mental health, yet few studies have investigated this relationship in the migrant worker dormitory context. In this study, we investigated this question by surveying the design factors of migrant workers’ dormitories and their mental health states measured by the short version of the Warwick–Edinburgh Mental Wellbeing Scale (SWEMWBS). To meet global carbon emissions reduction targets we need to adopt sustainable construction practices and transition toward a Circular Economy (CE). The present paper proposes a combination of CE-focused technologies, Circular Building Adaptability (CBA), Open Building (OB) and Mass Timber Construction (MTC) working in concert to support emissions reduction objectives. Safety training plays a pivotal role in elevating workers' hazard identification skills. Recent research emphasizes the need for tailored training, acknowledging individuals' diverse cognitive limitations, including attentional failures and misperceptions of risks. Despite recognizing the importance of personalized safety training, existing research predominantly only categorizes cognitive failures without developing customized interventions to address these issues. To bridge this gap, this study (1) conducted a comprehensive literature review to delineate the characteristics of each type of cognitive limitation and potential training strategies and (2) developed a personalized safety training program and validated the effectiveness of the proposed methods.
