Pemaknaan Ikon Makhluk Hidup Dengan Kaligrafi Arab Pada Srabad Dari Kesultanan Cirebon, Fitria Anisya, R. Cecep Permana

Multikultura

Islamic art in the Nusantara (Indonesian Archipelago) represents a fusion of Islamic tradition and local cultural wisdom that flourished through coastal trade routes. One of the most distinctive manifestations of this fusion is the art of srabad Cirebon. Etymologically, the term srabad derives from the Javanese expression "mingser saking abad", meaning the transition from the Hindu era to the Islamic era. This art form presents anthropomorphic elements uncommon in conventional Islamic artistic tradition, in which icons of living creatures are specifically constructed from the structure of Qur'anic verses. Studies that examine the relationship between the depiction of living creature icons …

Using a qualitative research approach and mise-en-scène analysis, this research unpacks the representation of masculinity in Russian military recruitment ads through Roland Barthes’s (1964) semiotic theory, alongside the concept of hegemonic masculinity by R. W. Connell and James W. Messerschmidt (2005), and Sylvia Walby’s (1990) concept of patriarchy. The findings reveal an emphasis on re-traditionalized masculinity, constructed and conveyed through …

Situs Lida Ajer Dalam Konteks Supererupsi Erupsi Toba, Zulianikha S. Putri, Arni Nazirawati, Alia Fatima

Multikultura

The Toba eruption approximately 74,000 years ago was one of the largest volcanic events of the Quaternary and is often associated with the catastrophic hypothesis, which argues that the event caused extreme global cooling and severe reductions in human populations. However, recent studies suggest that its impacts were less destructive than previously assumed. This paper examines the position of Lida Ajer Cave within the context of the Toba eruption through a literature review of archaeological, geological, and paleoenvironmental publications. The review shows that the presence of Homo sapiens at Lida Ajer, dated to approximately 73,000–63,000 years ago, places the site …

International Review of Humanities Studies

Following the rapid change in technology development, the Indonesian mass media have undergone a digital transformation. This digital mass media and its users have evolved, assimilated, and integrated themselves to fit in the cyber world. This distinguishing feature distinguishes them from traditional mass media. The cyber environment's infinite international boundaries are both advantageous and disadvantageous, as it is difficult to govern digital activity outside Indonesia's jurisdiction. This unregulated environment became a breeding ground for cybercrime, making the digital space unsafe for individuals and threatening national security. In response to this issue, the Indonesian government has enacted various laws and policies, …

The study adopts a qualitative-dominant convergent parallel mixed-methods design. The qualitative analysis is based on Fairclough’s Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA), integrated …

Radical Responsibility: Sartre And The Ecocentric Erosion Of Human Agency, Khodadad Azizi, Naupal Asnawi, Abby Gina Boang Manalu Jul 2026

Radical Responsibility: Sartre And The Ecocentric Erosion Of Human Agency, Khodadad Azizi, Naupal Asnawi, Abby Gina Boang Manalu

International Review of Humanities Studies

Contemporary ecological crisis persists despite decades of environmental ethics discourse and rising public awareness, a discrepancy researchers have named the awareness-action gap. One influential corrective, running from Aldo Leopold’s land ethic through Arne Naess’s deep ecology, addresses anthropocentric domination by folding the human being back into the biotic community as one member among others. This article argues that such levelling, whatever its merits against domination, carries an underexamined cost: it erodes the very ground on which anyone can be held responsible for ecological destruction, since only a being capable of choice, not soil, water, or rock, can be asked to …

This organization aims to fight HIV/AIDS with most of its members from homosexual groups. This research aims to prove that the New Social Movement carried out by the HIV/AIDS activist organization Act Up-Paris can encourage HIV/AIDS prevention and treatment efforts by the government and health institutions in France. This research examines data sources in the form of scientific journal articles, books, and news articles that discuss ACT UP Paris' actions in …

When Herstory Goes Viral: Popular Resistance In The State-Platform Nexus In China, Qingyue Sun, Runze Ding Jul 2026

When Herstory Goes Viral: Popular Resistance In The State-Platform Nexus In China, Qingyue Sun, Runze Ding

Interdisciplinary Studies

This article examines the rise of herstory content on Douyin to explore how feminist resistance takes shape within China’s platform environment. Drawing on digital ethnography, we develop the concept of popular resistance, a form of platform-mediated resistance whose popularity serves both as a condition of political traction and as a mechanism of containment. To clarify this duality, we identify two dimensions: (a) popularity on the platform, driven by trends, aestheticization, and commodification; and (b) popularity within orthodoxy, shaped by state-sanctioned values that render certain forms of feminist expression politically permissible. Popular resistance retains a critical, if slippery, edge. It gives …

Digital Government Maturity Dan Kapasitas Fiskal Dalam Penyerapan Anggaran Daerah Di Indonesia, Winda Chelsea Meisari, Siti Fatimah

Jurnal Administrasi Bisnis Terapan

This study examines the determinants of budget absorption within Indonesian provincial governments by assessing the impact of digital government maturity and regional fiscal capacity. Digital maturity is operationalized using the Electronic-Based Government System (SPBE) index, while fiscal capacity is proxied by the Natural Logarithm of Local Genuine Revenue (Ln_PAD). Adopting a quantitative approach with a cross-sectional design encompassing 38 provinces in 2024, the data were evaluated through multiple linear regression analysis. The empirical findings demonstrate that neither digital maturity (p-value = 0.966) nor fiscal capacity (p-value = 0.774) exhibits a statistically significant relationship with budget absorption, both partially and simultaneously …

Islamic Banking And Financial Inclusion In Ghana: Evidence From A Demand-Side Perception Study, Saad Abubakari Mohammed

Journal of King Abdulaziz University: Islamic Economics

Financial exclusion remains a persistent challenge in many developing economies, including Ghana, where substantial segments of the population still lack access to formal financial services. This study examines the potential role of Islamic banking in enhancing financial inclusion in Ghana. It is motivated by the premise that Islamic finance, grounded in principles of equity, transparency, and risk sharing, can provide an ethical, interest-free alternative for individuals currently excluded from conventional banking. Cracking The Code: The Systematic Development Of A Coding Matrix For Qualitative Data Analysis, Greta Gray, Marie-Christine Potvin Jul 2026

Cracking The Code: The Systematic Development Of A Coding Matrix For Qualitative Data Analysis, Greta Gray, Marie-Christine Potvin

Department of Occupational Therapy Faculty Papers

A systematic approach was used to develop a coding matrix for a qualitative study with the intent to strengthen the credibility and dependability of the findings. Coding matrixes are commonly used in qualitative studies to organize data into meaningful units of text to be interpreted by the researchers. Current methods of coding matrix development can be problematic as they may introduce biases in the results and have limited reproducibility. A novel approach was employed to address this need with the “a priori” development of a coding matrix using a multi-step deductive and inductive process with multi-coders (n=5).  The coders who …
